Hello Zara_Lee :)

There is an option for letting others know that you can work from home. If someone selects Home shoots to their Work Preferences page, it adds that they can "work from home" in the Information section on their portfolio page. Anyone who enables the Home shoots option on their portfolio will appear in the results on the Search feature when other creatives use the Can work at home filter.

Laura -- point taken. However, I think that some folk would read Zara's notes (foe example) and think 'It does not say that she does not work from home, so I'll ask'.

So might there be scope for expanding that section of profile notes to state more firmly if the person does not work from home, does not have their own transport etc?

Having suggested it, I do realise it would be spoon-feeding.

If someone chooses not to read the information on a portfolio page/portfolio notes, then repeating information (e.g. cannot work from home) from someone's portfolio notes elsewhere on their portfolio page (such as the information section) won't help.

Laura - understood. In Zara's case she does state things her notes. But a lot of people do not. So in the absence of a 'I do not do XYZ' in someone's notes or side panel, I think it's understandable that some viewers will think it's worth asking.

In Zara's case her problem is with the folk who ask about working at home. I don't need to know that. But there's a parallel with models who have their own transport. That's something I do need to know. But in many cases there's no mention of a model's transport situation in her notes or in the side panel, so I often need to ask.

I'm just using the transport thingie as a parallel. Similarly to the 'work at home' situation, it would be good to see a definite statement one way or the other.

Laura SJ FD Will travel for shoots would be a great addition to the search as well please.

...and if there's any way of encouraging people to state whether or not they have their own transport, that's something I and a lot of other non-townies (i.e. we're miles from any station or any worthwhile public transport) would welcome, please.

On the Work Preferences page, there are options for Can travel and also Has own Transport (both of these options can be used as filters on the Search page too!) :)

Brilliant - sorry for not spotting this earlier!

It's about an hour to the nearest train station for me - so that's four hours wasted to pick up and return a model.

Except that Laura I think a lot of people scan the additional information section first as it's at the top and on the right of the page.

That information is available. Anyone looking at a portfolio page can see when someone has added that they Can work from home to their portfolio information.

Laura - Understood, but... What I was getting at was a tweak of the side panel so that people can make a clear statement one way or the other - i.e. --- CAN work from home; CAN NOT work from home; HAS own transport; does NOT have own transport; CAN travel; can NOT travel.

Not everyone is as organised or conscientious as Zara when it comes to explaining things in their notes. So a definite statement one way or t'other should rule out any vagueness regarding 'can he/she or can't he/she; does he/she or doesn't he/she'.
