Remote Shoots

This album is a collection of images created during remote shoots.

I hope you will enjoy viewing this growing portfolio which demonstrates the variety which can be produced shooting remotely with me.  I have been working with each photographer to create images which make us proud, as well as enjoying the process and embracing the technicalities of photography in this now established way.

Using Zoom Video Conferencing for communicating and screen sharing, which gives the photographer remote access to the EOS Utility tethering software on my monitor, allowing the photographer to control the settings of my camera, select the focus point and fire the shutter, therefore owning the copyright.

As with any photoshoot with me, we collaborate on ideas, styling, backdrops and lighting setups.  We shoot portraits, fashion, art nude, lingerie, sometimes edgy or moody, glamour or boudoir, using props, accessories and jewellery, discussing and sharing the process along the way, I pose, take direction and generally assist around the studio.

My time, effort and preparation are the same as for any photoshoot.  Which includes preparing my hair and makeup, sorting outfits and accessories for the shoot,  arranging the studio and setting up the technical aspect, then modelling and assisting in the studio throughout the shoot.

I give 100% of my strong work ethic, knowledge, experience and professional approach to every photoshoot, tethered and face-to-face equally.

Whilst there are many different ways of shooting from separate locations, this version is not screenshots, webcam, cam modelling or taking selfies and I'm not using WhatsApp, Facetime or a mobile phone to take images.

What’s the point in remote shoots?

Well, we get to plan a photoshoot and share ideas, look forward to the shoot, then meet on Zoom and chat, get to know a bit about one another, laugh about stuff, take some shots, talk about life, take more shots, come up with random ideas, share stories and experiences, take more shots, get excited about the pictures we’ve taken before moving on to the next idea, review all the pics, ending the shoot on a high, get the RAW files and spend time choosing and editing and then share pics online, print, enter competitions, whatever you like to do with your images.  It can be fun, it can be serious, it can be creative, it can be spontaneous, we can chat, or we can concentrate, and we can enjoy it.  I am my usual chatty and friendly self via Zoom as I am in person Smile.

On 30th December, my last remote shoot of 2020, was with someone who was not convinced by remote shoots.  He was later talked into it by a fellow photographer.  This is what he had to say…

FROM THIS

‘ Remote shooting is not something I can understand.

I am missing shooting and I also feel bad about not shooting with models when they need to have work at a very difficult time.

My problem is in several areas.

I would want to feel the light....I almost always shoot with available light...and there would be no way to get a 360 immersion.

The camera would have to be on a tripod and I like to hold the camera.

I have seen excellent images shot by and of various people.

It just isn't what I want. I wish it was.

I am having difficulty thinking when I might shoot, face to face with a model again.

Most depressing '

TO THIS

‘ To carry the story forward, I have just finished a three hour remote shoot with Natasha J Bella.

It was absolutely fizzing with enjoyment and some good images also.

I was sceptical about remote shoots and said I wouldn't, couldn't do them.

But after the two shoots I have done, I am a convert.

What a way to finish an awful year.....on a high.

And there is lots of editing/processing to do.

Do try it
