Crossroads Studio

Andy attended the maternity shoot today with Marie Jean Saxton, which was out on the moors above Haworth.

Andy is a really nice guy, very easy to talk to and to get along with.

The shoot was a group one and Andy got along with everyone and with Marie also.

I have no doubt that he is the same with all models. He is happy to go with the models poses but can also direct if he is looking for something in particular.

I was only on location with the group as a hired hand to help out with equipment if needed, but I did watch the group working and Andy worked brilliantly with all the group and Marie.

He obviously has a lot of experience in photography and any model should jump at the opportunity to work with Andy

Yay!! Andyyyy!!

As soon as you see Andy - you cant help it, your face just lights up!!

Heres to the worlds longest time to write a reference but we finally got there!! (im sorrryyyyyy)

I was able to shoot and reconnect with Andy again during the Lazer Event at Aura which was super fun!

All the lazers and lights and smoke!

Andy is such a lovely human and we were able to have a catch up as well - the last time we saw each other was before lockdown and then on zoom calls :P Andy took some epic shots of me on the hoop between spinning around and smoke machines as well as on the floor - It would not have been easy to capture images with lazers beaming into your eyes etc but he did it!! the images so far have been SIIICKKKK!

He was happy to let me pose freely as well as working together with the ideas popping all over the place!

Totally recommended - If you have the opportunity to shoot with Andy DO IT!!

Happy Easter A!! xx

Yaaaayyyyy! Reunion with the Yorkshireman! Even though he clearly doesn't come from the most bestest part of Yorkshire ๐Ÿ˜œ (wrong side of the hills) but at least he gets what I'm on about when a bit of accidental broadness slips out. ๐Ÿ˜‚โ˜•

Andy and I: despite being *kinda* local to each other seem to go for millions of years between out shoots for some reason... That said: when we do shoot, we do it with one hell of a BANG and don't half make some pretty special images. ๐Ÿ˜Š This time was no different when we arranged a shoot together - just because we were headed to the same photography social down South (I think it first got suggested because the idea was that we could car share!) But in the end it was separate cars and I did a bit of a mini tour from the trip which worked a bit better. It still meant that we could work at some pretty neat locations that we wouldn't have otherwise gone to - an FPI later, plus lots of great memories from chasing locations around in an area relatively alien to us! Or the moment of Andy framing a shot so that my starkers body covers up a blissfully unaware member of the public eating his sandwiches/facing the other direction (in the distance behind me) deep within the Peak District... You couldn't write it really! ๐Ÿ˜† Just another day in the office having great laughs, being creative as hell and catching up with people of a like-minded passion for artiness and photo-making shenanigans and sense of adventure. That's all ya need. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The plan was split into several parts: the first leg we thought about stopping at the gorgeous rocky heaven of the cliffs in the Peak District on our way down. Made sense ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ as it's quite a spectacular place that was pretty much on our route, and one knew reasonably well. In all fairness it was a stunningly worthwhile stop because Andy shot away as I made my shapes and pranced around... I was in my element - he was the star for keeping up with this crazy rock nymph!๐Ÿ˜‚ Then; (the following day, after checking into our hotels at our final destination that evening) we had intended to shoot at some unique locations that had been recommended around Northamptonshire - this is where we went in blind, in a way, as all we had was map references and neither of us had local knowledge! It was a case of: what we could fit in within the time we had before the evening event (as we had travel between sites too). But it all worked beautifully in the end as we achieved some utterly stonking images at the main location and Andy really did smash that lighting to produce images of pure drama, atmosphere and emotion - in a location (I might add) that is otherwise pitch back apart from a little beam of diffused light from an overhead shaft! ๐ŸŒŸ He was bloody determined to bring and use that big beauty dish light! ๐Ÿ˜† IT WORKED THO! We finished our day with a few more editorial/casual style shots and portraits in the grounds at the evening venue - and that was us! variety, a cunning plan (with a bit of improvisation!) but a superb days worth of shooting split over two days. It was a real joy!

Andy is also just a genuinely nice guy to be around. He's honest, straight-up and very easy going. Yet he has all the drive where it's needed for his photography and knows how to get the winning images. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I've received nothing but professionalism and a kind-hearted approach with mutual respect from him on all the occasions we have worked together. I really do hope we can do something again before too long, and recommend him as a person and a photographer. Easily!

Thank you so much for a brilliant adventure Andy - we should do something again before another million years pass! ๐Ÿคช

I had a fantastic first shoot with Andrew last week at NLS!

Andrew is super laid back, easy to talk to, clearly loves his photographer, and makes a mean tortilla!

We had a great few hours shooting and I really enjoyed his company. It really great to go back and forth and figure out what was working etc.. I love bouncing ideas around!

Andrew is a pleasure to work with and I really hope we get the opportunity to do so again at some point in the future!

Highly recommended!

I've worked with Andrew for the first time at the Natural Light Spaces and it was a very enjoyable shoot! I'm delighted to work with him again in September.

Andrew is a very nice guy to work with, truly talented, and has great ideas!

We've created a nice variety of styles from fashion to ballet.

Ballet isn't the easiest style to shoot but I think Andrew did very well and captured the right moment, effortlessly. Honestly, I'm so impressed with what I've seen from the back of the camera and the final pictures look great! And trust me, I can be hard to convince, sometimes :-D

Andrew, you've been awesome, thanks for the great opportunity I'm really looking forward to working with you again!

Highly recommended.

I've just spent a week in Spain with Andy on a photofinca trip, and he really brightened the mood of the whole trip! Andy is a good laugh but also polite and respectful! He took some beautiful images during the week in a variety of locations and styles and I can't wait to see more of his results! Andy is super easy to get along with and was a very valued member of the group! Turns out he also has some great uses as a climbing frame when needing to attach my aerial silks to the tree and even showed me up with his own shoot in the sea :P

Thanks for making the week fun! Happily recommended!

HAP HAP HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our birthday boy for the day on my duo location group shoot with co star Will Newton, organised by Kevin (Yorkphoto Studio) :)

The very lovely Andy joined us on a full day location share in the middle of nowhere as a day off for his birthday, so of course we ran him ragged :P throughout the day Andy was a barrel of laughs keeping us all highly entertained, he worked beautifully as a team with others, and worked quickly when on any 1-2-1 time with us. Very chatty, super friendly, and just awesome to shoot with!

Thank you for such a fun day,

I was really really pleased when Andy booked onto the Atlas art nude trio event as Andy is not only a brilliant photographer but also LOTS of fun to shoot with!

Andy arrived as he always does to shoots full of smiles, energy and lots of enthusiasm! Andy is always considerate of the models, he is always professional and respectful but is always cracking jokes and making everyone laugh!

Andy works really hard to get those wow shots! He has brilliant ideas, can see where the light is, uses it well and really makes the most of his surroundings, which is exactly what you want on a location shoot.

The shots I saw on the back of Andyโ€™s camera looked brilliant - he seemed to really capture each model so well! And his trio shots, where he shot all there models at one came out really well!

It is always a pleasure working with Andy, and always feels like catching up with a friend! Recommended by me! Hope its not too long before our next shoot.

I shot with Andy just before the weekend at YorkPhotoStudio and had a whale of a time, he was on form and had me giggling throughout the shoot :)

This lovely fellow is super respectful and professional, as well as having a stunning way with his camera, he set up and used the lights absolutely beautifully and was an all round pleasure to work with!

I honestly can't recommend a photographer more than this awesome individual, his ideas were fab to put into practice and the images look blardy EPIC :)

THANK YOU FOR SUCH A WICKED DAY ♥

What a fantastic person! Andy booked me for a shoot in an amazing location where we spent the day bouncing ideas around, improvising, using as much of the location as possible and having a lot of fun! He brought just as much stuff as I did, which was a surprise- and was understanding about the fact that due to the dusty nature of the area, we would need a few breaks for me to de-dust! :D

He's a joy to work with, very creative, understood my perfectionist streak- allowing me to improve on shots I felt I could do better, and lovely company to have on a photoshoot. I cannot recommend him any more highly and look forward to working together again. :)

Yayyy, aww I love working with Andy! We have done an amazing mix of shoots up to now from duo fun to solo/conceptual stuff and one thing about Andy is that he will always stretch to make an idea come to life using creative lighting ideas and visualise a stunning composition in-camera every time. He's got genuine talent with his photography and each and every one of our shoots has been totally different not only in the looks/ideas tried out but the way Andy photographs them helps to sculpt the lovely effect that we then end up with in the back of the camera. Our most recent photoshoot was at Joel Hicks Photographic so plenty of location opportunities which we had only touched upon beforehand briefly with the lovely Rachelle Summers. There's an ongoing joke with Andy that he tries to out-do models with the volume of stuff he brings to a shoot - but I can tell you now he doesn't just bring it for the fun of it! This photographer makes a setting look absolutely fabulous by utilising available light and flash in creative ways for production of images that have that amazing dimension of innovation. That's how you transform what could be a relatively simple pose into a photograph that looks pretty darn awesome!

Andy is also really good at using the landscape and natural surroundings of a shot too. He can shoot in close proximity to the model (still love the honey shots we did!) or where the model is small in the picture and I really couldn't tell you which we nailed more because they all worked in exquisite ways! As I was pulling shapes along the jetty Andy was darting about figuring out the best platform for his angle and always had a sharp eye on how he could do the shot the very best justice. I can assure any model due to be working with Andy that he's a very artistically enthusiastic person who puts every bit of effort into getting the best possible pictures. And if that means faffing with the light to get it just right then he will take the time. :)

Aside from the rest, Andy is an all-round joy to work with. He's not the kind of person who will just rock up to a shoot and work in a static environment... He's super chatty and upbeat in nature so you can have a great laugh as you work. We literally natter about all sorts doing as much chin-wagging as shooting - he's most definitely one of the easiest people to strike a good rapport with. 1000% professional in every way, giving models complete respect and treating them as a valued team member - you always get the best out of shoots when everyone feels valued in a team and happy on set without a shadow of a doubt! Andy is a sweetheart as well and it's official! He brought me some delicious herbal teas to enjoy mid-shoot; real Chinese loose teas too, nom nom!!

Thank you so much Andy, always lovely to shoot together and the results are looking absolutely fantabulous as has always been the case in the past. :) Until next time!

Mega recommendation!

I was very pleased to welcome Andrew on one of Mine and Richard Egan's natural light workshops at Atlas Studio! Andy is clearly a great photographer - he has a huge knowledge of the subject - but it was so lovely to see how attentive he was to what Richard had to say - to me that marks a true photographer - someone who is always wanting to learn more - no matter how much he already knows!

As always he was fab to have around - he took some fabulous images and has already processed some crackers! I am really excited to see what else he got from the shoot! I love Andy's determination to get a great shot - as it is clear he is always looking for a great composition of something different that will catch peoples eye! He is a very nice guy - respectful and polite and a pleasure to work with!

Recommended by me !! I hope to work with Andy lots in the future!
