Had yet another whacky shoot with barry at penguins studios ,this time with kelly hathway . Were already booked onto the second in kempston in june and on excited!!

Barry brought along a superb piece of furniture,and two incredible guitars so we could create the look he desired.

Really impressed with Barry's concept here and kelly was the best pairing for this.

Lots of chatter and fun.. he brought us a smashing lunch also !

Can go wrong. Definitely always the funniest shoots with this man !

I had another absolutely brilliant shoot with Barry on Saturday with Ashley Ashton at Penguin Studios. Barry sent me his ideas beforehand and we nailed it on the day! Barry is so easy to talk to and get on with, he is respectful, friendly, polite and he is full of wonderful and creative ideas. He makes sure that we all have fun and we work at a relaxed pace where everyone is comfortable and giving ideas and input. The photos I've seen so far are excellent and I really look forward to the next few shoots we have lined up this year. 100% recommended by me!

Another lovely shoot with my friend Barry.

I say friend because he is a very special person to me.

Barry and i have very contrasting ideas , and we both have this "i know what i like vibe" going on haha... with careful dominance (haha) , and slight resistance from me (with my standard glamour style) , were starting to collaborate more effectively.

Barry is a very accomplished and intelligent man. He is naturally a designer. He has a very peculiar eye, which is "out there" .

The last shoot i brought along my standard "glam bag" , shall we say haha! Barry brought a very heavy duty flight jacket . At first i was a little apprehensive. But to my suprise , with the space , the outfit and the very enthusiastic photographer that he is, well id say we nailed it.

I am very proud to have someone so invested in photography, i am keen to get a shoot with his excellent collection of cars though ....

I have the ideas.. I am just waiting for the invite ...

Another great shoot with Barry and another great highly recommended reference from me! I was very lucky to get a second shoot with Barry recently after we worked together for the first time in a very long time :P ..we had a lot of unfinished ideas.. and the great thing about working with Barry is he is very creative which just leads to ideas being sparked all over the place! .. a very enjoyable shoot that flew by in an eyeblink .. Barry is great to work with and you totally get lost in what you are doing. Another fun, creative and productive day.. amber x

Just had my second shoot with Barry.. and the only thing im confused about now is why did it take so long for me to book a second shoot? :P It was fantastic to say the least and the time flew by leaving me kicking myself for not working with Barry again sooner.. as the previous time was 4 years ago!

Just as the first time pre shoot comms were excellent and Barry was fantastic at giving me good guidance on the themes and ideas he propsed to work on .. i found it refreshing and fun to work with someone so creative and fun! I myself like to think im a bit creative so i was able to certainly let loose on this shoot with Barry.

Although we had so much fun Barry remained also professional throughout making the whole experience not only enjoyable but also productive. Im left excited to see the images and keen to 110 per cent recomend Barry as a photographer

Well ... I dont really know how many shoots weve had yet ,but I know Barry does haha! ... its alot and in hoping it will be alot more .

Funnily enough, were only now trying to merge styles ,as we either shoot what Barry wants or what Ashley wants ..its tough , because I guess we're both big brains and we both live in a fantasy land !(maybe barry more than me )haha .

But , what I can say is this ...

Reliable- Barry does what he says and he says what he means . So you can always guarantee he will show up .

Invested- Barry will go above and beyond to create an awesome shoot . So IF he has booked you, youd be a very foolish model not to turn up and give him full attention during the shoot.

Friendly- he is always polite and professional on a shoot .

Enough said.... just enjoy the shoot !

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Barry for a second time, this time at Penguin Studio in Thame. Pre-comms were brilliant and I had an idea of what our shoot was going to be about beforehand and what items to bring with me. Barry is always so fun and interesting and he is full of wacky and creative ideas which I love! We managed to fit in several different looks/sets ranging from a Christine Keeler set to a weird and wonderful set with boots on both my feet and my arms to using a laser projecting onto my body! I'd never done these ideas before so it was rather refreshing and the day absolutely flew by! The photos I have seen so far are incredible - we really did knock it out of the park! I'm really looking forward to our next shoot together which is coming up soon :) Thanks again!

I knew from the moment when Barry first messaged me to introduce himself before our shoot at Paul's Studio that we were going to have a blast, and that we did! Barry is such a character - a great guy, very funny, patient, sweet and straight forward. He is also very easy going and friendly. Barry gave me great direction and instruction but also allowed me to pose freely and give my input too. He bought along some props and some yummy snacks too which was a bonus :P We managed to fit in several different looks in the time we had and the images I have seen so far are amazing. Highly recommended by me and I look forward to our next shoot :D

After years, months, days of us trying to align our calendars we did it. We got our first shoot in. We've already a second in! What a lovely day, Barry really does do the most to make sure you're feeling good and comfortable. Along with some crazy and cool ideas. Definitely recommended- see you soon :)

What can I say about Barry, he is literally a genius, so creative with a massive imagination and his sense of humour is just brilliant. It’s rare for me to say that i can click with someone who is in the same wave length as you. We just clicked straight away so well and was so happy with the shoot.

He was so professional, super caring, bubbly and always looked after me. Everyone will fall in love with this man’s personality. His such a gem. Very unique.

This guy is such a legend and can’t wait to work with him again he is seriously a favourite of mine already just by working with him once. Thank you so much Barry.

I had the great pleasure of working with the lovely Barry recently at Neon Dreams!

Barry is indeed a unique character with a quirky photography style! It was really fun to do something different and see what he comes up with in regards to the edits (which I loved!)

On the day Barry was charming, friendly, fun and a joy to be around. He communicated his ideas well and had some interesting stories!

I really enjoyed working with Barry on this creative shoot. His quirky ideas and his love for artistry is truly inspiring.

Barry was keen to find out all the things he could from my perspective as a hmua with regards to building up a look and took on board my suggestions in order to fulfil his idea and concept.

Barry had created a mood board and had a clear idea of what he wanted to achieve, but was still flexible in his approach, which was very much welcomed. I felt fully briefed and understood what was expected of me.

I loved Barry's sense of humour from the very first message of communication! He has a real way with words and is a fun character in person too.

Barry's eye for detail is very impressive, and I was shocked to learn he is so new to the field! I am over the moon with the final images and was very pleased with how quickly Barry passed them over.

I would absolutley LOVE to work with Barry again and would HIGHLY recommend working with him.

I dont really know what to say . The guy is a genius and he knows it haha! He is always fun and interesting and has accomplished so much in his time. I find it difficult to pose sometimes because hell mention something and ill be off on a train of thought and completely forgot what i was doing . Were going to get something good one day , really good , i can feel it and im going to be proud to have shot with him and it will likely be my best shot , because Barry likes the best lol !!

We have a studio shoot booked and i am too excited . We shall see what happens ..

Had a fun first shoot with Barry last Saturday and my word what a fantastic shoot it was! Definitely one of the most fun shoots I've ever had and we got some awesome shots that's for sure.

He's full of unique and quirky ideas and it was nice to try new things and have a bit of fun!

Highly recommend him if you are looking to try something a bit different and have a blast. Can't wait to shoot again 😊

After months of trying to arrange, I finally had the pleasure of shooting with Barry at Penguin Studios in Thame. Barry is so much fun to work with, we bounced off each other and spent 4hrs creating some fun, wacky, creative images. The time went far too quickly! Barry came prepared with a moon board of images and ideas which helped me to understand what types of images he would like to achieve. Then I went into full crazy posing mode and enjoyed every second in front of the camera with him. Highly recommended! X

What a fantastic shoot!

I was honoured to have worked with the ever so lovely Barry today whilst on my studio day at Paul’s Studio reading.

I must admit I was a little nervous today because one of the themes was “Christine Keeler” inspired and I wasn’t sure I would fit the bill but I think we got some cracking shots.

Barry was a breath of fresh air today, you wouldn’t think we just met, it was like shooting with one of my pals from London! Haha.

I had a blast, such a fun packed shoot!

Full of laughter, giggles & chocolate crispies :) perfect afternoon if you ask me!

Thank you so much Barry! Hopefully our paths will cross again sometime.

Yeyyyyy….. we finally got to shoot!! Myself and Barry had planned on a few occasions to work together but on one attempt his car failed on him, then Covid struck then I decided to damage my foot but yesterday…… it all went swimmingly!! I had booked to spend the day working alongside Barry partly on location with his amazing lotus (I was so chuffed he picked me for this) on a Britt Eckland inspired shoot. Huge ✔️ it was fantastic and I think between us we nailed the shots! Then over to penguin studios for several hours of shooting with guidance from Chris Conway too. The 3 of us had an absolute blast covering many looks and I loved listening to his amazing past and all the achievements he’s done along the way. It was so lovely to have such a productive and laid back shoot with laughs throughout (and a couple of silly duo selfies!!) very much looking forward to the next time we can work together. Barry was kind, courteous and professional throughout and a dream to work alongside!! Here’s to the next!! 🙌

As usual , a cracking shoot arranged with Barry @paulstudio in reading. Time just flew by , as usual but i guess because we were testing out my makeup artist skills haha! .. cant say i have a steady hand but was impressed with the lighting effects in the studio . Barry is an outstanding person with a brilliant mind (im sure iv said that before), born with a designers eye ..he creates interesting and alternative images.

Shoots are always fun and unusual , Barry always brings lunch because hes a sweetheart ! and cant say iv had a bad shoot with him yet .

Will look forward to more adventurous shoots with him and i absolutely recommend him as fun and safe to other models .

Never give up on shoot prospects - because you never know when that absolutely monster-racing-looney shoot with extra doses of jolly wacky creative madness might just come together! 😄 Barry and I have been talking about working together for longer than I can even recall! 🙈 He first expressed an interest in potentially joining forces aaaaages ago (on a previous tour I was doing nearby his patch) but we’d never quite managed to make mutual availability work! Several attempts with my very strict/pre-planned tour dates just not working against his own diary, and it was almost time to give up! Nooooooooo! The very idea of that would be akin to very bad swear words given the absolute ball we had when we DID make it happen. 😂 Read on folksies...

So I was touring the sunny South again! This tour actually got thrown together relatively last minute for a few reasons: uncertainty with movement restrictions amid the pandemic, extra work in making the safe... Yada yada, it’s kind of par for the course when you do this full time as even though I have just a bloody laugh working with people like Barry - I also want people who book me to be as safe as poss/the worry to not override the good times! ☺️ Barry’s choice of studio and support in getting this shoot a reality this time was just on-the-ball! A nice spacious place to work (Penguin Studio) who had their own set of precautionary things on the go... Plenty of sets to keep us nice and busy with our brief... Great facilities for me to dump my entire house-worth of stuff between me and Barry running around bouncing off each other. 😆 The idea setting for us to reap utter mayhem basically! The challenge was on... The wasps were coming and the penguins had better have their wits about them! 🤣

Expanding on the above - Barry is such a legend where thinking out of the box is concerned! I do a LOT of styles: lots of serious arty stuff (which I love) but I’m a self-confessed nutter. 😅 And I simply adore expressing myself in more crazy sort of ways too. Well if there was one gentleman to bring all of that in a single shoot... *POINTS OVER TO BARRY MALLARD!* Yup! He’s your guy! I mean: I just have no words really. He took some inspiration from a self-made short film I’d created in a past lockdown which was rather flattering. We didn’t have quite enough time to do full blown waspie makeup (next time ey! 😉) but OMG the spin-off tributes we did around this idea was just the *bees knees!* I’ll get my coat... 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Then on to snazzy portraits (hey, any photographer who brings me chocolate props that I can guzzle straight after is already down for a banging’ reference!) Ooh, and who doesn’t love a touch o’ Twiggy-inspired beauty work?? We had a great moodboard to work from courtesy of Barry’s epic thinking and working prior to the shoot. More innovative explosiveness included going mad with high/quirky fashion looks using rather reflective props! 👀 Always great fun and games taming the light with this kind of look - but this guy? Pah! Nailed it! 👍 He was seriously right in the zone when we were shooting; a photographer that comes with bountiful enthusiasm and drive to achieve his target shots - also someone totally willing to bring the model in as part of that creative process and surf off teamwork vibes. ☺️ Definitely my kinda shoot!

So y’all can probably gather that we had a laugh and a half. 🤣 But silliness to one side for a sec: Barry bears a heart of gold. He’s such a lovely person and cared about lots of aspects to make me have as comfortable a shoot as possible - got me some choices of lunch in/had refreshments at the ready being one example. He is very chilled out and easy to get on with, all the while respecting the model in every sense and being extremely courteous in his etiquette. I found him just lovely to shoot with in all honesty - and of course I bloomin’ recommend him! ☺️ As a lovely human to be in the company of, and a great photographer to make images with.

Can’t wait for the next sesh of madness hehe! 😆
