I started working in photography as soon as I left school in the early 1970s, working in the advertising industry, at first as an assistant and then had my own clients/project types, for the most part working on soap adverts and beer commercials, with the occasional TV rental company thrown in. My training (using Hasselblad 500 & Rolliflex cameras) consisted of learning nude art photography as my boss insisted that it was the most challenging and presented everything you would ever need as a photographer.

Unwisely I took voluntary redundancy when the lease on the studio came up for renewal, thinking I would do some other things before returning to photography. I spent a number of years as an engineer in telecoms (very surprising to me as well!). Eventually I returned photography in the early 1980s, mainly working on nude portraiture, landscapes, occasional advertising and anything (except weddings) that would earn a living. I didn't earn a very good one hitting a recession.

Now I work full time as an IT consultant and part-time back working on my own photographic projects. I'm trying to rebuild my portfolio as much has been lost over the years and want to start selling my work again via art galleries and outlets. I work mainly in Medium Format in both film and digital cameras. People find me easy to work with, have a sense of humour (sometimes quite surreal) and open to suggestions, although I have clear ideas about what I want and can spend quite a long time on a single shot until I get it.
