[August 2020 - This really does need updating....]

About me - I guess most of my interest in photography lies in Nature and Wildlife.  While I've had a basic point and shoot for as long as I can remember, I have only really been taking photography seriously in the past 3 years, most of which is of wildlife, and particularly in macro. I started off with birds and flowers and have since progressed onto butterflies, moths, bees, and wasps. I love showing people that there is an exquisite beauty in even the smallest of things. Check out the links to my Flickr page and 500px page to see the kind of stuff I have done. Although I thoroughly enjoy photographing various aspects of nature and wildlife, I am always looking to increase my experience and skill level, and I would like to move onto taking images of people.

About the pictures I would like to take - To begin with, I'll be looking to shoot mostly portrait/fashion and stuff along those lines. Art nudes are interesting, but not my focus for the time being. As personal preference I generally like shooting in black and white, and I like the look of 'low-key' images i.e. having plenty of shadow and using light to pick out different features etc. But while that is what I prefer, I am always ready to try something new and enjoy trying out new ideas in new environments. I always want to keep things varied and to push myself as an individual and as a photographer.

Work and travel – I work in retail full time. My shifts vary from week to week, so I'm sure to find gaps in there somewhere for Shoots. I’m located just outside Lincoln, but as I don’t drive I am limited to using public transport.

Post-processing – I use both Photoshop and Lightroom, although I generally use Lightroom more often. I will edit any pics taken in the shoot, but I only make small changes i.e. recropping the image slightly, tweaking the contrast/exposure or spot removal. I am very slowly learning to do more extensive editing, but I still want to only do subtle changes that add to the final image
