I attended a workshop at David’s studio with a view to gain a better understanding of studio lighting techniques. I can honestly say I came away with this and so much more!

David and his wife were fantastic, polite hosts and provided a delicious lunch and non stop beverages. The studio is immaculate and David has put a lot of time and effort into developing a style that is easy to re-create and gives fantastic results every time. The equipment is great and the tuition style laid back and informative. The choice of model (Olivia Harriet) was perfect. She was a delight to work with, posing was perfect every time, she had an array of outfits and she simply brightens up a room when she works.

Value for money I have zero complaints, when you consider the cost of booking a model for half a day and then add in the tuition, studio hire, food and the equipment cost this workshop is an absolute steal!

I hope to work with David again in the future and can not recommend this course enough.

Absolutely cracking workshop with David today, learning all about low key, fine art photography in a brilliantly equipped, modern, home studio with an delicious lunch included in the price!

Not only did I learn lighting techniques I'd never seen before, David also introduced me to some superior Photoshop editing skills which clearly raise his photography to another level as is evident in the pictures on this page.

David's professionalism in both tutoring attendees and working with the model was inspiring, this was easily the best workshop I've attended since taking up photography.

What a fabulous workshop with English Photoworks today.

Starting with a warm and friendly welcome, the day was laid back, professional and thoroughly inspirational! The quality of his photography is evident for all to see, but David imparts his knowledge in a way that is easy to grasp, absolutely making sure you want to get home and start practicing!

The choice of model was excellent, but even when the cameras stopped clicking, the Photoshop and retouching tutorial was the icing on a brilliant day.

For both photographers AND models, I couldn’t recommend David highly enough. I’ll be back :-)

I worked with David again but this time on one of his fantastic workshops! David was super organised, professional and gives fantastic direction.

I really loved his lighting set ups in his home studio and the results were really beautiful! The day was productive but equally paced, so very enjoyable as a model.

David’s wife had very kindly prepared a lovely feast for lunch which was such a kind gesture and which separated the workshop and teaching very nicely. I really enjoyed the small group who attended, it was a lovely day and well run.

Thanks so much for your time David and I really hope we do it again soon! Highly recommended to all models and photographers who would like to attend in future, Helen x

I worked with David for the first time yesterday as the model for one of his excellent workshops.

David is 100% professional, great teacher/photographer and a really nice person to work with.

I had a little trouble getting to the shoot due to car problems in the morning lol but David was understanding and sorted me out a lift which was much appreciated.

David's workshop was fantastic, well organised and beautiful images were created.

I can't recommend David enough as a photographer and teacher.

One word - Fabulous. David is a very passionate photographer with excellent knowledge and a really good teaching technique. Yesterday I photographed Carla Monaco at one of his Fine Arts workshops it was a really enjoyable experience and his hospitality along with that from his wife and family was way above and beyond anything I ever expected it was if I had known David and his wife for years. I can highly recommend David to anyone who is thinking of booking him, its simple, dont think just do it you wont be sorry, his studio is very well equipped and very comfortable. Just returned from a Fine Art Portrait Workshop hosted by David Shoukry at English Photoworks and what a wonderful day it was. David spent the day showing three photographers how to light, pose and retouch to produce images in his style, made famous by Annie Leibovitz. His garage converted studio was wonderful, and just the right size and coziness for the shoot, and the addition of the local model Carla Monica made this a dream shoot. David's wife produces a wonderful meal at half time and came to the rescue with transport when Carla's car would not start. David is a warm and friendly host and a skilled tutor, and I would recommend him as a photographer and teacher. All in all a wonderful day, and I have come away with many stunning images to edit.

I worked with David in February on a brief one hour shoot to produce upcoming advertising material for a workshop together! As David is local to myself it was the perfect opportunity!

It was my first time working with David and at his beautiful home so I was a little nervous but needn’t have been!

David is a professional, extremely respectful and top of his game. His photography and lighting are excellent!

I was made to feel very welcome and we achieved some stunning results in just an hour! David was also very kind to share these with me.

David contacted me a few weeks ago asking if I would be interested in being the model on his fine art workshop. I immediately said YES!

David's comms were great and the day itself was wonderful!

The lighting set ups were amazing, the studio space was clean, warm and cozy, there was even lunch provided for myself and the photographers booking on and I had my own space for changing too.

David (and his wife) are just SUPER nice people and I am so glad he contacted me. I can't wait to work with David again one day. :) Thank you!

I had my first shoot with David yesterday and it went really well. David arranged for a hair stylist and make up artist to come along and opened up his home for us to shoot in his studio space.

He was really friendly and easy to get along with, and the communications were great all the way through. He came up with a great idea for the shoot and created some wonderful lighting set ups to pull off the style we were aiming for. He very kindly picked me up from the station and provided lots of refreshments.

I really enjoyed the day and highly recommend working with him!
