This was my first real shoot with an artist and I loved it. Very different to free flow normal poses so took me out of my comfort zone but was worth it.

I contacted John to see whether he wanted to book a life drawing session while I was visiting Devon for other work, and to my delight he said yes. John is the perfect host, always ensuring his model is comfortable, warm, well watered, and well fed. He is a superb conversationalist, and time flies by; he’s also a very talented artist and it’s a joy to see the work he produces. Plans are afoot for another trip to Devon, this time with my husband so that we can model as a duo.

John organised with me an art modelling session for which he booked me as the model.

His comms were clear and professional throughout, he made me feel very at ease and he facilitated me getting to a tricky location by giving me a lift to and from the train station as well. Payment was really prompt and the group he ran for which I modelled were very friendly (and good artists to boot!).

Any model can have good confidence in working with John and I hope I get the opportunity to model for him or one of his groups again.

John had kindly arranged for me to sit for some portrait work with a local art group. His communication is impeccable and the arrangements were perfect. The group were lovely and I had a great time with them.

This was my first time working with John and his art group as well as my first time sitting for artists. I felt comfortable, looked after and really enjoyed the entire experience. The group of artists were lovely and John it's an interesting man, I hope to work with him and them again soon.

I had my first life modelling session with John at his studio and what a revelation it was. It was a great learning experience and I definitely found I had some muscles I never knew I had!

John comms are excellent, he is respectful and very professional and he immediately puts you at ease. I am really looking forward to working with John again and would definitely advise any model to give it a try.

This is my first time working with John and also my first time life modelling. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

John booked me for one of his amateur art classes. Pre event communications were clear, concise and timely. He explained his expectations very well. He also provided contact information for other sources should I be concerned about anything or if I had questions about what I should expect.

The event itself was lovely. It was quite informal and everyone present were lovely and also grateful for me to attend. John gave me a warm welcome and made a good cup of tea (always bonus points). He was very conscious of my comfort and needs throughout. It was lovely to see the results. Afterwards we discussed other opportunities to work together which I looked forward to.

Post event he checked that I got home safe and payment went into my account.

All in all a great experience and look forward to working with him again.

I posed for John in a series of dynamic life poses as he drew me. John is a very talented artist, a great conversationalist and an impeccable host. My partner, Salient Lupus, joined us for the final two hours of the session and we performed a series of athletic lifts which John captured expertly given the limited time we gave him for each pose. Both Luke and I look forward to working with John again when we are next in Devon.

I would recommend John as he made me feel comfortable from the get go got really into the poses and felt good about my body for once as even though I have some hangups about my body he complimented me which made me feel better about myself, he is a really good artist and appreciate his work would definitely work with him again as would love to see what else he can do, whether it be paint next time or something else, I love charcoal though so glad he used that for this one-thank you John

This was my first time sitting for an artist, and John's comms were brilliant in explaining what was required of me. We spent some time building rapport and doing some sketches (which were incredibly cool!), and worked towards an idea for an initial painting.

John was absolutely amazing to work with, the conversations flowed and sometimes distracted from what we were doing, but we achieved a lot for a day's work. I cannot wait to go back and continue where we left off.

John is a highly professional, creative, engaging and interesting artist. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. I have been working as a life model for some years and I really appreciated being able to be part of the creative process by suggesting postures and working with more challenging poses. Many of the classes that I model for are for beginners and I can only get my classic poses 'out of the bag'!

John is easy to get along with, makes you feel welcome, takes the time to build rapport and takes care of all of your needs (including impeccable pre-session communications and instructions regarding how to find the studio). His studio is well equipped and warm.

I cannot recommend John enough either if you are a professional life model or a beginner wanting to give life modelling a try.
