I had a shoot this morning with John at the barn studio in Tayport covering some art nude and a variety of lingerie shots.

John had excellent communication running up to the shoot and gave me good directions for getting to the studio and kindly offered teacakes and coffee on arrival. As John is such good fun the shoot was very enjoyable from start to finish and we created some excellent shots with the different lighting set ups that he wanted to use, he also had a large amount of props to use.

John is an experience professional and has a good knowledge of lighting and set ups but along with a bubbly fun personality to go with it, it made the shoot not only productive but also one of my best photoshoots.

I highly recommend John and I do hope that we can work together on future shoots.

I had my first shoot with John and it was wonderful!!

He picked me up Ian's off we went to a lovely little studio. We had a 4 hour shoot and boy did we get through a lot!

We started with some classic/athletic nudes which John lit beautifully! Once we knew we had some fab images we started to experiment - bringing things like ladders into shot! John kindly helped me when it was needed.

John had a great selection of props which we also used, so we really did get a huge range of sets completed! As well as being able to experiment with lighting for some. John listened to any of my suggestions and clearly respected my opinion.

John is a very down to earth and very lovely person!! I really enjoyed his company and I enjoyed his clear passion and enthusiasm for art!!

John kindly got me lunch and made sure I was always supplied with tea!!

Our shoot was relaxed yet very productive! Lots of fun and resulted in some very beautiful images which I'm really proud to be part of!!

I would love to work with John again! He comes highly recommended by me!

I have worked with John a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed the shoot every time. The studio was very comfortable and relaxed. He has a fantastic talent for photography, lighting and posing while having a professional attitude. Absolutely down to earth photographer, I would highly recommend!

John is incredibly creative and his organisation and lighting concepts are superb. Every shoot is different and I always look forward to working with him. We always have a good laugh too!

One more really amazing shoot with John in the bag! :D I always look forward to working together when chance allows during my tours of Scotland because he's a true artist at what he does: and so diverse as a photographer as well! Like John has always been superb at lighting gorgeous artistic nude images but the sheer variation that we have shot over each shoot has been consistently amazing and John will put his hand to so many story-telling concepts to create a killer photograph. He has such an outstanding ability with lighting!

This time we even managed to get outside and do a bit of location work which was quite exciting: modelling duo with the lovely Ivoryflame, it was great fun working with the team as the story behind the idea came together. John saw it right away and the ideas came to mind like lightening! The images were nailed just as quick as once he has a vision for the feel of the shot, he conquers the composition like a boss in no time at all. :) We had a real laugh too: the beach was stunning, it was quite a nice day and the rapport was the usual lovely atmosphere/tummy clenching giggles! John is so laid back and it's such a difference working with such an upbeat person as the session feels totally relaxed and productive at the same time - John's posing demos are still the best in the business! :P :P What a guy - model's who have not yet worked with John - you will have a blast, he's a legend!

Same on-pointe communications, same spot-on organisation and the same kind favours such as station pick-ups and munchies/tea opportunities. I think all the models who have shot with John will agree with all that I have said. :) He's a true gent, showing no end of respect to models and you can bounce off each other whilst shooting with a teamwork value once you get stuck into an idea or concept for a set. The images look STUPENDOUS!!!!

Always such a pleasure to work with John McNairn - he's a legend! A man of many talents and such a friendly, kind and considerate photographer, with awesome ideas, bags of creativity and a fantastically ridiculous sense of humour! :-P

Shoots with him are always fun, entertaining and produce brilliant results. I count myself lucky to know him, he's one of my favourite photographers to work with and an absolute gem of a human bean! Whole-heartedly recommended! :-D

John was really fun to work will, despite him being slightly under the weather John had high spirits and made the shoot enjoyable with lots of ideas and creative sets.

John is profesional, respectable, a good host a perfect photographer for a model on tour.

Another cracking shoot as always with this one!

Even though he was really poorly he powered through the shoot like a trooper and we still got some absolutely gorgeous images! I always look forward to working with John, I know I'm going to be looked after and have a fun filled day with so much laughing my sides hurt. He has such an infectious personality even when he's ill he was still cracking jokes :)

Another lovely shoot in all and can't wait to work with him again in the future :D

I've had the pleasure of working with John a few times now, and he's bloody awesome!

Shoots with John are always a good laugh, yet we still achieve some great images together. Over the time we've worked together, I not only consider him an excellent photographer, but also a friend - plus John's my 'Come Dine With Me' watching buddy! Haha!

John has my highest recommendations as somebody you should work with and I hope John remains part of my life, not just a photographer, but also a friend.

John picked me up from train station and even bought me a coffee to warm up 😊.

The studio he uses is amazing and John made me feel very comfortable throughout the shoot we even managed to have a laugh.

He as been very quick delivering on his promise of sending through the pictures I even got some the same day and the pictures are amazing.

I would highly recommend working with John he is a fantastic photographer and a great guy.

John and I chatted about working together after I put up a casting saying I could do full days shoots in Scotland if I got overnight coaches from London the night before and after a shoot, lol.. so we arranged an epic shoot! I coached up to Inverness and he picked me up from the bus station, greeted me with a smile, helped me with my millions of bags, did an initial food stop and we set off for an adventure on the Scottish hills!

I just can't recommend John enough - he is wonderful to work with and has an amazing positive energy which is infectious. It is an absolute delight to spend a day in his company! Add to that he is an astounding photographer - the first image I've had the pleasure of seeing is just breathtaking. The locations were magnificent (this was my first trip to Scotland - I know, I don't know why I didn't visit earlier either!) and he even let me borrow his spare camera so I could take shots of the scenery myself!

This is one super generous and compassionate guy. Our conversations were super interesting; I could have chatted all week (much to his horror no doubt, hahahahaha)

The ONLY thing I was disappointed about was he didn't meet me at the coach station in a pink onesie like he said he would lol, mind you I had changed out of mine too as I thought the unbrushed hair, no make-up in a cat onesie look might have scared him off! :P

Super duper highly recommended.. can't wait to go again :)

The 26-hour round coach trip(!) plus 2 hour train journey to London in the first place was totally worth meeting and shooting with John.. so I think that speaks for itself!

I worked with the AMAZING and delightful Mr McNairn again alongside his lovely friend "Di0nne" on a recent Scottish tour and absolutely LOVED it! It was so lovely to catch up and working with John is just infectious, we picked up exactly where we left off! John is so lovely and relaxed to shoot with and every shoot is so enjoyable- it doesn't feel like work- I wish every single shoot was like this! :P

We started off in the studio creating beautiful shapes with a mixture of Johns fantastic lighting skills- and then headed down to the beach where I was very brave (or crazy, you decide which!) to have a (skinny) dip in the sea for the final shots! It was crazy warm for Scotland and actually surprisingly warm(ish) in the sea- I had a great time and went away laughing! Looking forward to seeing the photo uploads which looked beautiful on back of the camera! Thankyou for such a lovely day John and hope to see you again soon, you lovely man! I could wax lyrical about John for hours - he's great company, funny, a wonderful photographer... i could go on. I always enjoy my shoots with John and this time was no different. We shot on a local beach for the day with Vron and we had a such a giggle, even borrowing a horse. Definitely one of my favourite people to work with....

I recently got the pleasure of shooting with the lovely John again after several years had passed since our first. I really don't know where the time has gone.

However, I was really looking forward to our shoot as memory served me right and I knew we'd had a fabulous shoot the first time around. And this one was no different...infact BETTER!

John collected me from my hotel in Dundee and even stopped en route for snacks to keep us going. We had scheduled half of the shoot in the studio and half on location.

I don't think I can actually say which was more successful as both lent themselves to some stonkingly beautiful images.

John is a creator with lighting and he knows what setups work beautiful for the different genres we shot, he has wonderful ideas which really help with creating a mood and theme to the images.

The location for our outdoor shoot was a stunning beach in Dundee, we had a flowing dress and the sea...just WOW! The images are some of my all time favourites, so different for me and totally beautiful.

John is really friendly and bubbly, he makes you feel very comfortable and well looked after. We had lots of breaks to warm up and refuel with our lunch and water.

Really really highly recommend and would work with again in a breath ♥

I worked with John and Di0nne on my recent tour of Scotland. John very kindly collected me and dropped me back to my train station.

He has a wonderful sense of humour, is friendly, considerate and easy to work with, knowing what he wants to achieve on the shoot.

Pre-shoot communications were great and I believe the three of us had quite an adventure that day!!

Very much hope that we get the chance to work together on location again. Love the images I have seen already! :D

P.S. He was prone to outbursts of random songs........which then get stuck in your head!!!!! ;)

Second shoot now with John and literally, 30 seconds and we dove right into a flow making some absolutely cracking images! :D I love Johns skilful style of shooting art nudes any day of the week but we really pushed the boat out this time with all kinds of sets/props and garments, talk about being on a roll! John brought along some absolutely amazing bits and bobs this time, I swear if he wasn't such a great photographer I would encourage him to take up the occupation of a wardrobe stylist! :P Upon reviewing each set the images looked cracking, the finished edits even more so and of course I am stuck with the usual problem of selecting some to share in my portfolio...

I can literally say that John is a must-work-with photographer to shoot with in Scotland for models touring the area or even new models. He is so lovely, mad as a box of frogs (hence why we get on so well!) and the shoots just fly by so quickly even though we're getting through a good amount of sets. He is such a gent with the best levels of respect for models but a laid back and upbeat character at the same time - sure he gives me stick for my strange teas but I give as much as I get! :D I cannot recommend John enough.

His images are always so wonderful to receive post-shoot. John knows exactly how to achieve the most beautiful finish for each different look and can swap the lights around to achieve perfection in no time at all. His photographic eye is on the ball at all times plus his attention to detail results in a true WOW factor in the shots he takes. So effortlessly too, like being a visual genius just comes so natural to him.

I always look forward to working with John again the next time I am up, hopefully next time we will finally manage to get out on location! :)

I had the pleasure of working with John during my recent tour of Scotland.

I found him to be very relaxed and good fun to work with, we chatted a lot and stopped for an all important lunch break (Egg sandwiches and fudge donuts - Mmm) but, we were able to fit in three or four different sets during a three-hour shoot. John is very knowledgeable and had loads of ideas, we couldn't fit all of his ideas into one shoot.

He sent me through some pictures after the shoot. I must say that I am very impressed with them, John, really does know his stuff and this shows in the images he produces.

I would love to work with him again.
