Harry is a lovely person to work with. He is ever so welcoming, and let me stay at his home the night before our shoot which was so nice of him. He looks after his models very well, taking dietary requirements into account, and ensuring a steady supply of tea. Time just flies by with Harry, the shoots are really relaxed but very productive. I love the shot we achieved this time round and hope to see him and his wife when I pass again in mid 2018 :)

I had my second shoot with Gairm on my recent tour up to Scotland. He very kindly also accommodated me for the night, which made my life a lot easier! As last time, his communications are perfect and we organised everything with no problem at all. He and his wife are excellent hosts and I was very well looked after. The shoot went very smoothly, Gairm knows the light around his house and we made excellent use of it. He is good at directing models to achieve the results he is after, and has a wonderful selection of clothing too. I am very happy to recommend him to models once again, and I hope we can have shoot 3 when I next return to Scotland :)

This was my second stay and shoot with Harry and his lovely wife, Catriona whilst I was on my second Scottish tour.

Working with Harry is brilliant because he has specific ideas which he wants to achieve. We were on the hunt again this time for the elusive sartorius muscle which was challenging but interesting and rewarding too!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay as I had wonderful company, conversation, hospitality and terrific food!!!! :)

I can wholeheartedly recommend Harry to work with and sincerely hope that we have the opportunity to work together again in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed my shoot with Gairm when I did a mini tour up North. His pre communication was great, I knew exactly what he wanted from the shoot and had a great time wearing his wonderful Japanese kimonos :) There were so many ideas we couldn't do them all in the time we had. Hopefully will shoot with him again soon and get the opportunity to do them :) Highly recommend working with him.

Gairm is a deligtfully inspiring artist to work with! We had a wonderful shoot yesterday during my Scottish tour and I came away feeling incredibly inspired/motivated (and even started my own art/photography project that came abut whilst working with him!).

The shoot was challenging at times as its very easy to fall into 'model mode' which was not the aim, so I enjoyed pushing myself to work in a different way and am very hopeful that we created some really interesting artworks! Whilst Gairm is a proficient photographer, I feel the term artist describes him better due to his approach and thought processes (from my observation) which in its self is fascinating!

I really enjoyed the in depth discussions we had during my time there and found him to be very accommodating (I stayed over with Gairm and his wife during part of my tour). I was also very inpressed by his loose leaf tea collection and his taste in books!

I really hope to work with Gairm again and highly recommend him.to others!

Gairm and I shot together for the first time while I was up in Scotland on tour recently. His pre-shoot comms were excellent, and he was very kind and understanding about fitting our shoot in with my other tour commitments which was very much appreciated. He has a number of very original concepts and sent me plenty of detail about what he was looking to cover on our shoot. On the day, we spent time looking into how to create a particular image he was after and I learned a bit about the muscles in the leg that I didn't know before! He gave very good direction and allowed me time to rest when needed (we were doing a few shots that required tensing a lot of muscles so this was invaluable). His wife even provided a hot meal (gluten free!) during the shoot and strawberries afterwards which was lovely :) I would be very happy to shoot with Gairm again, when I return to Scotland, and definitely recommend him to other models. Thank you Gairm (and I will start the book asap :) )

I had the honour of being able to shoot with Gairm to develop and refine some conceptual and experimental ideas as they evolved over a couple of days.

Gairm is a true artist in many senses of the word - not only is he a writer and photographer, he is also a trained sculptor and as you become more familiar with his work, the way Gairm transposes sculptural concepts into his photography becomes more and more obvious.

As a sculptor with a specialism in portraiture photography, Gairm really understands the gestural mechanics of the body to consciously and precisely pose the body to create graceful and elegantly nuanced lines as well as the micro expressions that both emote and reveal the real person. He also knows how to position the body in space with regards to both spatial composition and fluctuating natural light; consciously relating the body to its setting. The more you look at his portraiture the more you can see the sculpture influences.

I found Gairm to be perceptive, thoughtful and felt very at ease with him. He has his own ideas yet generously and actively invited my input as a model. I brought books of works by Hellene Von Meene and Franchesca Woodman along to our shoot for inspiration and we were able to fuse this with both our own ideas. I was very excited by the resulting images (so lovely to be working with someone as talented as Gairm who has both the skill and the open to experimentation mindset to actually pull them off).

I cannot wait till I get the final edits to proudly post as well as visit again because we wish to develop our ideas further as well as explore other ideas that arose from our collaboration - which was a true collaboration at all levels.

It goes without saying that I cannot recommend Gairm highly enough.....if you are prepared to completely throw yourself in and embrace the creative process, shooting with Gairm is beautiful and unforgettable experience where you will learn about photography, art and yourself.

I worked with Gairm again.

His pre-shoot communication is always good. Making sure that he is clear on ideas so, you have an idea of what he wants to achieve.

I don't often stay with photographers when I'm on tour because having my alone time and being on my own routine is important to me (yes, in other words I'm awkward and boring :) ) but, Gairm is an exception to this because he always has made me feel comfortable in his home.

During the actual shoot he talks you through his ideas and he also styles the shoot so, that the colours and patterns are well blended. he does direct the shoot because he knows what he wants to achieve from each set. Of course, when working with Gairm you will have input on styling and pose but, because He knows what he wants from each set mostly you just have to listen and follow instruction. It's actually a great experience to work with a creative who has their own ideas. :)

Also, we both agree that Horlicks and coffee mixed together is a good combination. Which means that Gairm is not just a good photographer but he has great taste. ;)

Harry is a wonderful down to Earth person. He takes effort in understanding model's levels and other rules. Harry has unique style, he captures the emotions, therefore it was a bit of a challenge for me, and I finally realised that I am camera shy, it takes some time for one to learn portraying true emotions in front of the camera. Overall experience provided me with lots of useful exercises and understanding where to put more effort while learning the art of modelling + some nice images. By the way, his images look untouched, because he carefully removes the blemishes while keeping the skin texture, thus you do not need to have perfect skin for shooting with him. I fully intend to work with Harry again, next time for TF. Definitely recommend, him as a skillful and emphatic photographer and a nice acquaintance to have.

I had a wonderful time working and chatting to Gairm during my visit to Montrose.

Not only is Gairm a fantastic photographer, he is also an incredibly interesting person. I stayed the night before our shoot and we were up for quite sometime chatting about western philosophy - which was excellent fun!

Working with Gairm is an enjoyable experience, he is full of fantastic ideas and his able to articulate his concepts and direct accordingly, but also allowing for some of my own interpretation. The resulting images look stunning.

Gairm and his wife made me feel totally welcome during my stay and I felt very relaxed in their company immediately. They are both wonderful people - they also taught me some new Scottish words too!

I had a lovely shoot with Gairm earlier this month, during my tour in Scotland.

We shot at Harry's beautiful home. He was well organised and knew what he wanted to achieve from our shoot, whilst being open to ideas. The day went wonderfully, fitting in a few different sets with conversation throughout. Harry's pre comms were also top notch.

It was wonderful to have the chance to work with Gairm again. We have worked together before so, we were able to start off the shoot with more of a relaxed atmosphere. We did three or four different set-ups in different parts of Gairm house, he has a beautiful home which, he makes great use of and he times his shoot very well so, he can fit his ideas based around the ever-changing natural light through-out the day. He communicates well prior to the shoot so, pre-planning is easy and during the shoot, he is very open to different ideas and suggestions. He also has an abundance of ideas of his own which are great fun to work through.

I felt very well looked after the whole time I was there.

I would definitely work with him again.

I had a wonderful shoot with Harry in his home. We got to do nude and clothed work. I really enjoyed his unique way of shooting and felt we achieved a lot in the time we had. He does snap a hundred shots with hope of one or two successes, everything was planned and thought out with care. He took good care of me whilst I was visiting, providing me with copious amounts of tea and a hot lunch!

Harry's home is beautiful with lots of opportunity for different backdrops and props.

I would highly recommend him as a photographer and got on with him personally very well.
