This is great space to work in lots of natural light and lots of props to work with. The studio is a good size so there is space to move around in. I have worked in there many times and would work in there again.

I had two and a half full days at Hallam Mill during my Manchester tour, including a sold-out studio day. Jim is obviously very knowledgable and kept the tea flowing throughout the day. Hallam is a beautiful location with great natural light even on dull days, as well as loads of equipment and props. I'd thoroughly recommend Hallam Mill to photographers and models, and hope to return soon.

Hallam Mill just has so much wonderful space and fabulous natural light (when the British weather decided to play ball!) and a great selection of studio lighting to help out when it didn't. Jim was very welcoming and amazingly helpful with lightning suggestions, coffee, taxis and everything else we could want. It lived up to high expectations and was well worth traveling for.

I'm looking to shoot here again soon :)

I booked Hallam Mill and Jim for an instructional session on studio photography.

I would highly recommend Hallam Studio with instruction from Jim to photographers of any level. Having input from professional with clear talent makes a big difference in the quality of images you can achieve.

I had a wonderful shoot at Hallam Mill on Tuesday with Tillie Feather and Artemis Fauna.

Jim was very obliging, providing cups of tea upon request and setting up the lighting for each set change.

I had contacted Jim two days earlier about the props that I wanted from his store and they were ready and waiting in the main studio. When a change of set was needed, Jim was on hand to help move things around and also to re-set the lighting, as required.

A wonderful three hour's shooting in a lovely, friendly environment.

I would recommend this studio to any photographer or model. Great sets and natural light coming from the windows is fantastic for lighting. I will definitely go back for another shoot.

Firstly sorry for posting this late,

This was my 1st trip to Hallam Mill, we arranged it at short notice, and I can't thank Jim enough for his help in arranging my shoot with Ayla, the 4hr shoot flew by, and with the three of us, me Jim and Ayla we produced an amazing set of shots that I am very proud of. The natural daylight floods in and the old wooden floorboards make a wonderful backdrop. Combined with studio lights, and sets and loads of props, it is a fabulous studio. And I look forward to returning. mike

I always feel that the studios and owners get little praise, especially when they organise the model days are on hand to assist if you cant always work out what you want lights wise etc.

I have known Jim for a few years now, apart from the fact he supports a team who sing Blue Moon at home games, he is a great guy to know. Works hard at getting top class models in, the studio has changed beyond recognition since my first trip.

Thanks for another great studio day last week. Look forward to next one

Another fantastic shoot at the mill today. Jim's a legend! very accommodating and friendly, down to earth and professional. Brews up every hour, fetches bacon butties & is generally ace to have around when your shooting! I always feel safe at the mill, whoever I'm working with; it's reassuring to know Jim's there keeping an eye on things. fantastic selection of music and he's on hand to help with lights and backdrops etc etc. a fabulous studio space- perfect for natural light and artistic images! 5 star

Had a lovely warm welcome from Jim this morning at the studio followed by a lovely cup of tea :)

Studio is fantastic, nice and spacious, lots of windows/backdrops and props everywhere in sight. I could of stayed there all day shooting but sadly ran out of time. I hope I get the chance to visit this studio again as it had me bursting with ideas!

Had a great studio day at Hallam Mill - so many fab images produced in this amazing location and the light was gorgeous. The studio is massive with so many little corners. Perfect for art nude.

Jim was very nice, made excellent cups of tea and helped the day go along nicely. Communication was good and on the day we had a laugh too. Very much recommended :)
