Had a recent shoot with Johannah at Sowton Studio Exeter.

After a long and difficult journey from her home she arrived on time, ready to shoot. We had been discussing this project for some time. It involved capturing a style of studio glamour popular in New York 100 years ago. I felt honoured that Johannah had entrusted this tricky assignment to me.

She is a wonderful model to work with. We were so engrossed discussing the merits of various poses and props that productivity was rather low. I have never shot fewer pictures in a two hour session, and I have never enjoyed shooting them more than this.

We had an evening group shoot at #oldbakerystudio Poole. Johannah arrived in good time and with several themed outfits - ‘20’s and ‘40’s look. She’s a relaxed model that knows her stuff, friendly to work with and immaculately turned-out. I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot and hope to work with Johannah again soon.

My third shoot with Jo and as always a great pleasure. She arrived after a long and difficult drive but after a quick cup of coffee was ready to start. It was a shoot in my garden in bright sunshine and my flash was broken so we had to improvise but Jo posed efortlessly in not the best conditions.

Jo is professional. fun and a lovely person and I cannot recommend her enough and hope to do a fourth shoot with her soon.

Just had a great dual shoot with Johannah and James Ryder.

Pre comms was really great, ideas and details discussed before shoot. Despite the journey Johannah arrived fresh and eager to work. She brought a lot of lovely vintage clothing . This was her first dual shoot but was a complete natural . She's able to pose and appreciates what makes a good photograph.

Highly recommend and hoe to work with Johanna again.

I have just had the great pleasure of working for the first time with the lovely and talented Johannah on our first vintage themed duo shoot. Jo was an absolute delight to work with, so professional, attentive to detail and full of ideas to help build n the theme of the shoot. Pre shoot comms were excellent, including sharing between us costume ideas and story lines for each theme. Jo arrived ahead of schedule despite a long drive and with lots of costumes and accessories. She has a great sense of humour and we laughed a lot during the shoot but her commitment to the shoot was absolute. I'm really looking forward to working with her again. I highly recommend Jo to all who get the chance to work with her.

I planned a tour of England and was very precise as to whom I would like to work with.

Johannah was one of those models.

I have admired her work for quite a while and was quite easy to arrange a shoot.

Jo was very welcoming and her partner David, whose studio we used.

The shoot whizzed by and was pleased by Jo's reaction to the images from the back of the camera. We were trying a bit different for her but not extending her levels.

She really pushed the boat out and was amazing!

A mixture of my props and outfits and Jo's own were arranged easily and quickly.

Jo has an beautiful figure and smart and intelligent. Takes direction when needed, though not much required. I think we both knew what images we were trying to achieve, so worked in synch from the word go!

Would be stupid not to recommend Jo to any tog, she is a fantastic model and lovely person and was such a joy to get the chance to work together.

Was happy to share images with her too that she has graciously posted some on her portfolio to good reaction. I'm sure there will be more to come, so many great images still to edit!

My second one to one shoot and my second with Johannah. She is a wonderful model and person. The shoot was at her home studio and she made me welcome and feel at home from the start. Pre-shoot comms were good and we both knew what we wanted to achieve. Johannah poses efortlessly and seems to know whats wanted instinctively. She takes direction well and offers her own ideas which were invaiably better than mine. I recommend Johannah without hesitation and hope to work with again in the not too distant future.

Vintage Photography

My second shoot with Jo, 3 years after our first time, it would have been much sooner if not for Covid. Great pre-shoot communications. Jo arrived with everything we discussed ranging from vintage to martial arts. Jo was a pleasure to work with, with some good ideas and a full range of poses, cheerful throughout and some lovely expressions. We managed to get through all the sets we had planned, and I thoroughly enjoyed our shoot. Many thanks Jo.

I invited Johannah to model for an evening group shoot at The Old Bakery Photography Studio. Despite never having done this before she was enthusiastic about the new challenge. Pre-comms were excellent and Jo arrived early, with all of the outfits we had discussed and more.

Jo was a delight to work with; professional and keen to ensure everybody got exceptional images, she was also very friendly and easy to talk to. We all had a wonderful evening and I'm certain that we got lots of amazing images.

I would definitely recommend Jo to other photographers and look forward to working with her again in the future.

My second duo shoot with Johannah and Morwenna has been long in the planning, much anticipated by all concerned and proved well worth the wait. Not only are they two of the most attractive vintage-style models in the country, they are also visually extremely well-matched and get on very well together. They also both have a strong interest in quality clothing and a good sense of what they look well in. The shoot itself involved taking a relatively small number of images - it takes time for two models to change into different outfits, and posing needs particular care - but the striking rate of good ones was unusually high. They can both be very strongly recommended, both individually and as a duo.

Second shoot with Johannah. An another good 'un!

I like working with Johannah. She's creative, she has a lot of good ideas and she pays a lot of attention to detail, so her input is invaluable and I come away with a greater variety of pictures than I would have done if I'd been left to my own devices.

Also, her communications are excellent and she's 100% reliable and professional in every respect. She's a pleasure to deal with.

Add to that her lovely unpretentious personality and good sense of humour, and you can see why I enjoy working with her. Indeed, shoot No.3 is already in the diary. 'Nuff said!

Lightful

Had a lovely session with Jo in a home studio after excellent pre-comms. She is very artistic and full of ideas to make the shots just right - time just flew by. I only hope my painting can do her justice.

I last wrote a reference for Jo after our eighth shoot and we have just done the twenty-fifth. This alone is all I really need to say in terms of illustrating the complete confidence of both of us in the other's ability to deliver. We have kept going so long partly by always attempting to vary what we do, and the most recent work is as good an illustration of that as any. Obviously, I give her the strongest possible recommendation.

My first one to one studio shoot and I was very nervous! Jo and Andy Gaden of Fareham Studio soon put me at ease.

Jo is a wonderful model, taking direction easily and fluidly with plenty of ideas of her own, which I needed. She and Andy gave me a very good coaching shoot from which I learned a great deal.

She had brought with a lovely selection of clothes which suited her style and the style I wanted to capture.

Pre shoot comms on Jo's part were excellent.

Jo is alovely person, chatty, friendly and very professional. I can't recommend her enough and I look forward to working with her again, when I have improved my skills enough to do her justice.

Although having met Jo in the studio on several occasions before this was a long overdue shoot that we have been wanting to do from before lockdown. What can I say, what an absolute pleasure, such a lovely chatty person that I’ve seen go from strength to strength in both confidence and ability.

Pre comes were great and Jo turned up armed with a great selection of outfits and her makeup bag.

We tried out a few ideas, discussing each as we moved along. Her posing was effortless and her confidence and willingness to have a go at different ideas made the shoot whizz by, resulting in some fabulous images. Highly recommend and look forward to another shoot.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first shoot with Jo 🙂 She arrived early at the studio with a fantastic selection of outfits to go with the themes we had discussed. Jo is a natural in front of the camera and posed effortlessly whilst being happy to take any additional direction that was required. Time as always ran out long before our ideas did so very much looking forward to another shoot together. Jo was an absolute pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her 🙂

What a brilliant shoot I had with the multi talented Jo on a vintage/ Martial Art shoot.

Yes I did say Martial Arts! this is one extremely versatile model!

Jo was is an absolute pleasure to work with her attention to detail forward planning and collaboration skills certainly contributed to a seamless shoot.

If you are looking to add a touch of class to your portfolio and looking for a model who works tirelessly to achieve the images you want look no further.

I am very happy with what I managed to capture but more so to have been given the opportunity to work with Jo.

I look forward to adding the images to my portfolio soon and working with Jo again in the future.

Jo answered a casting for images which need editing . She provided excellent images . Communication was easy and relaxed. Jo is a beautiful model and will be a great model for any photographer. It was a pleasure to edit Jo’s images.

I have just done my seventh and eighth shoots with Jo, while nine is rapidly approaching. There are some photographers who will not book a mature model in the apparent belief that they cannot compete with younger girls. Nothing could be further from the truth, which is that one as good as Jo gives ground to nobody and can not only equal but even better the images produced by models half her age. This has recently been demonstrated quite conclusively on my Flickr account, the one which matters to me above all because the comments are spontaneous and made by people in the real world with no agenda of their own. Thus, an image from shoot eight has received a level of response in terms of favourites and comments which has completely wiped the floor, as far as my account goes, with good photographs of much younger and better known models. The question is not whether she can deliver. It is can you?
