References for Alicia Black

I had the privilege and the joy of shooting with this fabulous young lady at last after what seems like years trying to get something sorted, but she was worth the wait. I travelled to her light and airy flat in Bath to spend a great afternoon shooting a whole range of images.

Greeted by this lovely pale demure model of great stature and poise we had very similar ideas in the types of images we liked and the afternoon soon whizzed by.

Can i say anything negative about Alicia? yes i can! she needs to believe totally in her ability on both sides of the camera because she really doesn't know how good she really is, which is incredible

Can i say anything positive? So much!! An absolutely amazing person. A flawless body, perfect in every way and she knows how to use it to get the images you want. Her attitude is first class which goes with the personality and the lovely nature that warms to you as soon as you meet and it seems like you have been friends for ages.

I hope to work with Alicia many more times over the coming months and years in all sorts of different projects and would recommend her to any photographer wanting to work with a first class model who knows exactly who she is, what works and is so easy to shoot.

Alicia continues to amaze me with not only her excellent modelling, but her work ethics, professionalism and refreshingly down to earth attitude which places her in a class above others. I had my first shoot with Alicia and the shoot was amazing .

Alicia was ready to shoot as soon as we were set up in the studio posing perfectly and effortlessly .

Pre shoot comms were great and had everything we discussed to shoot , quick changes hard working , everything you could ask for :)

Had the absolute pleasure of shooting Alicia for a couple of hours at her studio day at Hangleton Lane. She was an amazing model to work with, very down to earth,funny, chatty and also very knowledgeable about photography. Her posing was fantastic with or without direction. I would highly recommend working with Alicia and i hope to again myself. Thanks Alicia for a fun afternoon and i eventually worked out the dark viewfinder and screen problem, just had to change a setting in the menu 😂😂

Alicia's pre shoot communications were excellent. When I first saw her, I knew we would get great images. She has a b=great face and figure and alabaster skin which in the natural light of her studio is amazing to shoot. I will certainly be paying another visit to Bath in the not too distant future.

Alicia and I tried to set up a remote shoot but the technology let us down. However, Alicia arranged to do a self shoot and I sent her a moodboard. She shot the images on a Ninon Z7 and sent me a series of first class images. Not only is she a super model, excellent to deal with and accomodating but she is also an excellent photographer. I do hope that after all the lockdown that I will get to have a real live shoot with Alicia.

After very cordial negotiations with lots of laughs along the way, I have contracted Alicia to provide content for my Bentbox on a regular monthly basis for the remainder of 2020. The reasons for this are many; and include Alicia’s outstanding looks, pose and presence in her modelling; a comprehensive resource of technology, knowledge and skill from her studio, Light Master Photography; her enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra distance and always over deliver on any project; plus so many other positive attributes too numerous to highlight here, but all are appreciated. Thank you so much, Alicia. You are worth a lot more than I am paying you! We can sort that out for 2021 perhaps. Highly recommended!!

Even during these difficult times, Alicia created beautiful photography. We discussed some technicalities around a shoot and she was able to produce magnificent content. She is an amazing personality and I simply need to go and shoot her as soon as this pandemic is over! My highest recommendation.

We were trying to arrange a shoot when the lockdown put a hold on things. As my normal technique with a new model is to arrange a short shoot then arrange a longer shoot once I have assessed the results. Alicia was happy to take some images and send them over me so we can plan a more detailed shoot for the future. She very promptly shot several series of images, as requested and posted them very promptly. Really can't wait for the main shoot. Alicia is very attractive helpful and listens to what you are trying to achieve. I whole heartedly recommend her, ask her to take a series of images along the lines of what you are interested in, her rates are very reasonable, so arrange a set to give you ideas for a proper shoot once this is possible. Alicia very kindly agreed to contribute to my Helmut Newton-inspired “Lockdown Selfie” project. The shoot concept is very simple - two identical poses, one clothed and one nude - but the execution can be challenging and I’m extremely grateful to Alicia for the time and effort she spent on putting together two images with such wonderful style, poise and pose. Alicia kindly agreed to let me post-process the images and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results that we’ve created together. Had another excellent shoot today with Alicia, who pulled off her usual (for me) trick of simultaneously modelling and teaching, aided again (in the teaching department only... :-p) by her beautiful assistant, John ("Aquae Sulis").

Pre-shoot comms were very straightforward and we quickly got down to work executing our plan, which was simply to start getting to grips with my new Sigma Art lens, which Alicia was very kind in helping me choose (even finding good second-hand deals online for me) after getting variable results with my previous entry-level Canon lens.

We decided to take full advantage of the new lens's greater panoramic/cinematic capabilities (being 35mm compared to the previous 50mm) in our choice of shots, making the most of Alicia's lovely apartment studio. I was also introduced to the wonders of Live View shooting as an excellent means of working around calibration issues with the new lens until I can get that sorted out, so I was still able to get impressively crisp shots today.

Despite us continuing our back-to-basics push to ensure I'm getting the sharpest possible shots with all the technical details correct, Alicia still threw herself into her modelling with every bit as much enthusiasm and inspiration as always, giving me many fabulous shots, not just mere teaching exercises. She has both a seemingly inexhaustible font of ideas and the technical know-how to bring them off (even with me behind the camera!), all perfectly complemented by her own beauteous features in front of the camera, and served up throughout with charm, a sense of humour and much interesting conversation about what's good and what's not good in the world of photography.

I love working with Alicia and I'm absolutely confident that so will anyone else who is wise enough to book her, so what are you waiting for?!... ;-)

Had an awesome first shoot with Alicia at her home studio in Bath.Excellent pre shoot comms and she was ready to shoot when I arrived.Alicia has an amazing apartment spacious with period features and loads of natural light that really suits my style.

She is a confident model that poses well with or without direction and works hard to achieve the required images.Alicia is a great person to work with, bubbly,fun as well as being totally professional.

And another amazing shoot from Alicia. This time we were looking to utilise natural light to its advantage including the sunset (what little we have in the winter). Alicia’s drive and passion for the perfect image is intoxicating. She has a relentless drive to continue to push for the best that can be achieved. Her eye for detail and arranging an image is first class often seeing things I miss. The sign of huge experience.

I am constantly challenged and encouraged by Alicia and am already, based on the latest set of images, looking forward to the next shoot.

I've been hoping to shoot with Alicia for a couple of years, but as I live in a remote location It's needed to wait until I was able to travel to her.

And I must say, it was well worth the wait.

Alicia has an amazing apartment in beautiful Bath, and it's just such a great place to shoot. Lovely period features, and really amazing natural light coming in from some very large convenient windows.

Alicia herself really is up there with the very best models there are.

She has a look that is versatile for shooting so many different styles. She is tall and slim so she can shoot fashion, and she is naturally a very beautiful girl blessed with very attractive features and a great physique.

Alicias hair was styles and makeup applied in advance of the shoot to an extremely high standard, and she really knows how to style herself for the shoot that is going to take place. Literally not a hair was out of place, so I know that my editing will be so simple, just needing to play with the usual levels and contrast and stuff that you would for any image.

During shooting, Alicia can pose 'on autopilot' as I put it, but she also takes direction well where I have seen a certain pose that works even better with a slight tweak. I found we both had similar ideas on what would work, so we got a lot of images and a lot of sets done in a relatively short space of time.

Overall, the shoot felt like a pleasant collaboration of both our creative minds, which came together to create some of the best images I have ever taken, and I really do mean that.

I cannot say in words how happy I am that the wait, and the drive down to Bath really were worth it, as I have just so many excellent images from this shoot!

Alicia is also great fun to work with. We chatted so much, and had a few laughs along the way, which really goes a long way when you are shooting together for several hours. And she makes a great cup of coffee as well!

I can only suggest that if you are unsure whether to book Alicia or not, you really should. She takes her career very seriously, and is a great person in every way. Beautiful on the outside, and truly beautiful on the inside as well.

I can't wait to shoot with her again.

Aquae Sulis

Another wonderful shoot today. Alicia was unexpectedly available so at short notice I managed to re arrange my day so we could shoot.

This time we wanted to work on a specific scene involving her lovely dog. I could see the composition was amazing (Alicia’s idea) but working with an excitable puppy on a field full of rabbits and other exciting things proved quite a challenge!!!

The concept and composition was a great idea and something we’ll return to to perfect in the near future.
