A shot of Severn Tunnel Junction as of Friday 19th April 2024. Note the signage is all bilingual now and the announcements. Transport for Wales do some services over the border into England up to Gloucester and they also change at Severn Tunnel Junction. Note also the line here has been electrified to allow Electric trains with Overhead Pantograph to run or allows the Intercity Express Train IET or Class 800 to run on Electric power.
Note the very high fairings added to the walkways over the track. Not only do they block any view of the trains from there now, they prevent people climbing over and jumping and more protection I would say as certain things including helium balloons, selfie sticks and fishing rods cannot make contact with the overhead lines. Plenty of videos on YouTube illustrating why that is a bad idea!
Lastly beautiful clear sunny skies now compared to the weather earlier on the shoot. This is where I change going and coming back from Lydney to Transport for Wales compared to GWR.
