Mark Whitmore

I'm a photographer & film maker from the East Midlands.  I run a successful event videography service, which has produced very high quality footage for weddings, and corporate events for several years, but my absolute passion is the still image. The photograph.  Telling a story through film is relatively easy. Telling a story  from a single picture is much more of a challenge, and somehow more connected to the artier side of the imaging industry.  

 

I have an artistic temperament and I'm a bit of a dreamer. 

Not always totally organized but there's nothing artistic about a filing cabinet right? I split my time quite unevenly between shooting /filming/ writing / travelling and walking my beautiful best friend. Maggie, who is my half Husky soul mate. 

I love classical art, especially Pre-Raphaelite, and my dream is to make a short film and have it premiered at Caans, though I'm steadily aging and it hasn't happened yet.  

I do make a living with my cameras, but I also work for free if the project calls to me. I'm not a bread head, and money doesn't motivate me at all. It's a nessessary side effect of civilised life, but has no place in my dreams.
