I had a fantastic shoot with Jay yesterday.

Lots of communication before the shoot so we had a clear idea of the images we wanted to achieve.

Jay even provided me with clear directions to find the studio which was very helpful.

Jay is very laid back and lovely to work with. We got great images right from the start, he has already sent over a finished image which I absolutely love!

I am already looking forward to working with Jay again and would highly recommend working with him.

Jay I will bring carrot cake to the next shoot :)

Elegance

Had my second shoot with Jay today - Jay is such an chilled, relaxed and easy going person! I LOVE working with him. After our first shoot I was blown away with his editing and skill of lightening and shooting, I have been using one of our pictures as my profile pictures for months as I'm so proud of it. I again suggested a change on our booked shoot but I knew he'd love it and be relaxed about a change so late in the day - I met someone who looks like Daniel Craig so we did a bond shoot - I have seen one picture already and Boy has he set the bar high - he is utterly brilliant - I will certainly work with him many many many times in the years to come (if he'll have me) thanks again Jay - I mean every word xx

Elegance

I thoroughly enjoyed my shoot with Jay today! His pre shoot communication was wonderful and I knew straight away Jay was easy going, fun and keen to create something wonderful! I felt exceptionally at ease travelling to the shoot and when meeting him my thoughts that he was all the above was confirmed! I loved what he had done to light in the studio - he obviously knows what he's doing in the studio to flatter the model!

He was extremely open to my ideas - I had a few ideas to shoot and through the months I changed my mind and threw ideas into the pot and he was so excepting and open to the ideas or changes I was asking to try - it was lovely - he was obviously excited about the shots we were creating which again was lovely to hear and sparked more confidence in myself and the other model there - he brought some snacks and made us drinks.

What a lovely relaxing person to be around. Would absolutely love to work with him again - perhaps you'll see more from us one day - 100% recommended - Thanks for a wonderful day Jay - speak soon. Rose xxxx

The Actor

Today I worked with Jay for the first time, and what a fantastic photographer. Firstly, he was ever so polite, welcoming and accommodating. But the images he captured looked fabulous! I cannot wait for the end results. I have already discussed another shoot idea with him and am very excited to do another shoot soon... 100% recommended.

Obviously I'm biased because I know Jay, but he's a very thoughtful and professional person when working with models. He's quite quiet and reserved for the most part, and not one of those loud gregarious types ushering models from one pose to the next. He is easy to get along with and just generally a pleasure to be around.

I had a great shoot with Jay on Saturday in J9 Studio. It was an amazing day and I really enjoyed myself.

Definitely my favourite photographer to work work with so far. Absolutely lovely guy and great sense of humor. He was even so kind as to let my partner try out one of his lenses on his camera as they were compatible which was super sweet.

Pre-comms was perfect, turned up on time and was very professional throughout. I've never felt so comfortable and confident in front of the camera as much as I was last Saturday, unless it's been with my boyfriend. I hope to shoot more in the future with Jay as I can tell with just the pre-edited images that they are gonna look awesome.

I had a lovely shoot this morning with Jay and he chose a great location. He was lovely to work with; warm and kind, we spoke quite a bit before to make arrangements and exchange ideas. He forgave me being a little late due to poor choice of parking.

He is very much a gentleman and I would highly recommend him to any model and hope/look forward to working with him again. Thank you for a lovely shoot Jay and I can’t wait to see the photos.

We shot from the 4th-5th, so bare in mind this covers both of those days, and not just the 4th. :)

This has now been my third shoot with Jay, and hopefully, there will be many more in the future to come, as I really enjoy working with him and he's one of my favourite photographers to work with.

We stayed in a hotel overnight in Skegness, and he picked me and my chaperone up and took us to the location. He was incredibly nice and did his best to make sure we were both comfortable.

Location-wise, it was very, very cold, too cold to be scampering about in a swimming costume by the sea in the middle of January! However we had plenty of rests in between to warm up, and he did his best to make sure I didn't catch a cold or any other nasties.

We had a lovely time, with plenty of time to rest at the hotel between photography, and a nice meal as well.

I have seen a few of the photographs, which we went through in the hotel rooms after each shoot, and already some of them look brilliant and expressive. I'm really glad we managed to get some great shots, especially with the cold and weather seemingly conspiring against us at most points.

As usual, I would highly recommend Jay to both experienced and new models of all kinds, as he does his best to make sure you're comfortable with the shoot in every way.

Yesterday I had my first shooting with Jay and it was amazing.

We organised everything in advance looking at some pictures on Pinterest and discussing about them here on Purpleport.

The day of the shooting he was perfectly on time and he made me feel comfortable since the first moment. We spoke a lot and he was so kind picking me up and taking me to Gloucester to shoot at the Docks.

Everything was fine despite the cold and Jay has been really patient and understanding about it.

We had a nice dinner and after some more shots he took me back home.

I have already seen the unprocessed photographs and I really like them, he did a good job and uploaded all the pictures on Dropbox on the same night.

I certainly recommend him to everybody :)

Spent the evening shooting with Jay at pozers studio. Pre shoot comms were great, as a new model he was full of advice and suggestions on how to get work and stay safe. He had so many ideas it was hard to choose what to do. We settled on a futuristic Barbarella style shoot. Jay sourced the costumes, checked them woth me first and sent me links to his pintrest board with pose ideas. When we got to the shoot Jay had great ideas on what he wanted and I'm excited to see the final products. I can't recommend Jay enough

Had another fantastic shoot with Jay today. We were able to do a Japanese style Yukata shoot in the fabulous Japanese gardens, and it was awesome. I had a lot of fun, Jay was professional as usual, my only regret was not being able to put 100% into the shoot from tiredness. From what I saw the pictures turned out really, good, though, so it was worth it! I'm really glad to finally be adding brilliant things to my portfolio with the help of Jay, and I look forward to shooting with him again in the future. :)

Just returned home from a wonderful first shoot with Jay. He was incredibly professional both during the shoot and before when we were discussing it all. I can't even begin to say how amazing he was to work with, he always made sure I was hydrated (as it was a very, very hot day) and we were both able to get some amazing shots from what I saw. I'd highly recommend him to any model, new and old.

Raven Black

Had a lot of fun shooting a Film Noir style shoot with Jay for the first time today!

He was friendly and laid back to work with and made me feel at ease as a model. He was willing to show me shots throughout the shoot which meant that I could get an idea about what poses were working and what weren't and I was really impressed with the high standard of image that I could see just from the back of the camera, I can't wait to see the final photos!

I will definitely be working with Jay again in the future and I fully recommend him as a photographer.

PoZers was honoured to host a Film Noir themed shoot with the fabulous Jay Jewell with the gorgeous Raven Black as our stunning model. Jay and myself had been chatting for a while before finally meeting on Saturday afternoon and his pre-shoot communication was amazing. I could see from Jays stunning portfolio, that he was a huge monochrome fan, and his classic style B & W images, that our theme of Film Noir would be right up his street. Jay arrived nice and early for the shoot, which gave us time to get to know one another and for him to get to know our model, who he made feel right at ease immediately. Jay was happy for me to control the lighting for the shoot, and we had great fun experimenting with various Film Noir lighting on Raven Black and it was a fabulous learning curve for us all. Jay was an absolute delight to work with and we had so much fun experimenting in the studio and he captured some phenomenal shots. Jay is very humble and his portfolio already speaks leaps and bounds of his capabilities as a fabulous portrait photographer. I really can't hesitate to highly recommend Jay to absolute anyone and everyone, from model to studio, stylist to makeup artist, Jay is a delight to work with and I can't wait for him to return to PoZers in the future. So excited to see the images he's created from our fabulous afternoon.

Had the pleasure of working with Jay at my studio evening at Matchbox Studio in Gloucester.

Communication during the shoot time we had was great, he was clear with his directions when he had an idea he wanted to try.

He is a genuinely lovely guy, easy to get along with, polite, professional and well mannered.

I very much enjoyed my shoot time with him and hope to work with him in the future!

I worked with Jay on a full day shoot and he couldn't have been any more kind to me. He made contact with me before the shoot and asked for some of my ideas and also what he wanted to get from the shoot. Just having a glance at some of the pics through the lens they look amazing and can't wait to see the finished pics. Jay is a wonderful photographer to work with! He came so prepared to the shoot, he had printed off the poses we had pinned on our Pinterest board, he had so many accessories to go with the outfit, he brought so many extras and had gone out of his way to drive to fetch the dress I would be wearing for some of the shots. He was so prepared and organised and had so many ideas.

Communication was amazing and we were constantly passing ideas over text weeks leading up to the photoshoot.

During the photoshoot Jay made me feel very comfortable, had great conversation, great ideas, and the photos looked amazing on the back of the camera. We spent the whole day shooting and I had so much fun with him and Jen the wonderful MUA we worked with. He had even brought in some food for us to eat during the lunch break!

Already arranging a second shoot with Jay and I look forward to it!

Would definetely recommend Jay to anyone, he is a pleasure to work with!

I worked with Jay last month for a shoot we had been arranging for a few weeks.

In the time leading up to the shoot, Jay and I kept in regular email contact, exchanging ideas and discussing locations.

Before meeting up, he gave me lots of information about himself, with various links to legitimate websites so that I would feel more comfortable before travelling quite a way to meet with him. He's a really down to earth and considerate person, who went out of his way to make me feel comfortable with the shoot.

When I arrived at the location, Jay was very welcoming (and forgiving, as my brother and I had got lost on the way there, and were about 20 minutes late!) and we spent a little while discussing the shoot.

He was patient, helpful, and creative whilst shooting, and really made myself and the other model I was shooting with feel at ease.

I would highly recommend Jay as a photographer, as he is a genuinely lovely person, and carries out his work in a very organised and professional manner. I would happily work with him again, and I was really pleased with the images that came from the shoot.

Great shoot with Jay, lovely man and made me feel very comfortable. Was open to suggestions and worked with me to get shots. Went and shot in a lovely little cottage he had rented and we had a 5 hour shoot! managed to get everything done and had fun doing it. The images I saw on the camera looked great.
