Yesterday was my first shoot with Ian and I already can't wait for the next one.

Ian’s practice turns photography into esoteric portraiture, and the models he works with into living artwork. He uses the ephemerality of expression and thought to create the most fascinating images that I have seen in this field of work for a very long time. I was blown away when speaking with Ian about his work, the passion he has for it, and his undeniable expertise as a thinker and creator.

Our shoot was wonderful, we shot at his beautiful home studio, where Ian made me feel welcome and warm, but not before Ian and his wife were kind enough to pick me up from the station to take me there. Ian is so professional and attentive. Ceaselessly kind and polite. And always has something fascinating to add to a conversation.

I would highly recommend Ian to everyone, if you ever have the opportunity to work with him I strongly believe you should absolutely take it. He is a book of knowledge and won’t fail to re-ignite, or scratch your itch, for an academic and inspired reimagining of portraiture and photography. I would even take the leap to say that the images created during a shoot with Ian could extend to videography. What I mean by this is that the narratives captured in his still images seemingly exist on a timeline where a single moment becomes a story, not just one instance.

Ian’s wife, Jen, also did everything I could have ever asked for to make sure I felt welcome and at home. She is always so lovely as to ask if I wanted a hot beverage and even brought us some yummy mince pies! Thank you, Jen. ♡

And of course thank you so much Ian for such a fun, rewarding and memorable shoot.

I can't emphasize enough how excited I am for the next one.

So much time had passed since our last shoot but from the second Ian walked back through my door, it was like it had only been yesterday! I always have a great time shooting with Ian, and what I love about working together is how conceptual his work is… it literally feeds my artistic soul! Thankyou for bringing ideas to the table and allowing me to be creative! Ian is a breeze, really laid back and clearly knows his craft blindfolded! I would always highly recommend Ian to models of all levels. Lovely photographer and person to work with and i already can’t wait for the next one!

Had a fab first shoot with Ray in his home studio.

Such an easy going photographer, very enjoyable to work with and he remained professional and respectful throughout.

Full of fabulous creative and different ideas and directing you perfectly for what he's trying to achieve. but also happy for me to pose freely and throw in my own ideas, working together to achieve the perfect shot!

Highly recommended to any level of model! The images are fab! And I absolutely cannot wait to work with him again. We are already discussing a second!!

I worked with Ian for the first time yesterday. During our pre shoot conversations Ian explained fully and with enthusiasm his ideas for the shoot so I was well prepared. It was obvious to me that Ian is a true artist. He put me at ease immediately on meeting him and I was able to relax easily into the role. Ian brought something out in me that I didn't know was there. I am eager to work with Ian again to develop ideas and hopefully produce art together. I can't recommend him highly enough!

My second shoot with Ian and my first after lockdown ! Was so nice to work with a friendly face after so long and who better than with Ian . Everything was socially distanced and he made sure there was sanitiser etc on hand ( who’d have thought id be saying this in a reference ha )

Ian is very clear on what he’s after , the shots , the outfits and has a vision which for a model makes it so easy ! 3 hours went so quickly and already jan had other ideas that I’d be happy to do ! I fully recommend you work with him if you get chance . Till next time :-)

Had my first shoot with Ian yeterday 6/3/20 and we instantly got in and found we’d loads in common ! Cup of tea and we were ready to go .

What struck me about isn and made me want to work with him was just how utterly professional , concise his messages were . From the first one I was sold and knew I had to work with him :-)

He had a structured idea of what he wanted , outfits and ideas which as a model helps immensely rather than the ‘ just bring whatever ‘ scenario . Pre comms was spot on !

We worked well together and hopefully we have created some amazing images . I wholeheartedly recommend and hope to work with Ian again ~Roo

Had my 3rd shoot with Ian last minute in the middle of storm Ciara in his studio! (I’m just bad at references sorry!) highly recommend Ian, extremely welcoming and friendly. We’ve created a great working friendship which is great as we’re so close in location!

Had such a great shoot with Ian! We arranged everything smoothly and everything went great. Ian arrived on time and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable throughout. Ian had booked me for a few hours at an Amazing location that he had found, it was mesmerizing.

Ian knows how to direct a model to get what he wants, he has slot of knowledge with how the lights fall, creating beautiful portraits.

Today I have my first shooting day with RayBann.

He met me on the train station near his studio and also organised to bring me bag to the station.

We start with little general chat and I realise that he is a lovely person.

Was an absolutely pleasure for me to work with him and he was so professional at any stage during the shooting day.

I did 3 hours with him and they gonna so quickly becouse of his nice and friendly personality.

We did a lot great images and I will be glad to work with him again in the future.

I highly recommend his job to everyone here.

Had a brilliant chilled shoot with Ian, he knew exactly what he wanted to shoot he was a lovely man. we shot a lot of portrait work witch I don’t do a lot. So it was different witch I really enjoyed

He picked me up from station and also his wife who was really nice dropped me back.

I had a second shoot with Ian today. Pre coms were spot on right up to the day and I was well looked after throughout the day with refreshments and plenty of rest in between shooting. Ian is a lovely person and very easy to connect with on ideas whilst shooting. I'm really pleased with the content produced and can't wait to see how they turn out in post production. I've just had a wonderful improv shoot with Ian today, he was polite and respectful and very easy to work with, I love working with Ian on his project as it reminded me of being back at uni and my own conceptual artwork so I felt right at home! Definately a must to shoot with, it's nice to meet a photographer who wants his models to think outside of the box and reach within and not just the 'pretty'. Will definately be happy to work with Ian again in the future.

I just had an amazing shoot with Ian in my place. When he contacted me, he told the wanted to take some shots based on the idea of a imaginary movie. I liked the idea straight away, as it's something different that I never tried before. When he arrived he explained me better, and we spent 15 minutes to organize the shoot. Well, I think we did a great job and we could reproduce what he had in mind. I love working with creative people like him, as I can express my real personality without feeling a too posed model. I'm looking forward to our next movie shoot!
