References for Studio 99 Newport

I shot at Studio 99 for the second time last week on a gothic shoot with a snow machine.

Studio 99 is a well hidden gem in the Newport area and the owner Nigel always greets you with a smile and a good natured daft joke. The studio itself is incredibly well equipped with plenty of fantastic lighting equipment and rigs to make sure you can achieve the best possible atmosphere for your shoot. Nigel sat in on the shoot and was kind enough to not only ply us with cups of tea but also operated the (rather impressive) snow machine and offered plenty of technical advice to enhance the shoot.

The dressing room offers plenty of privacy and light with which to sort out your makeup and boasts an impressive range of clothing and props for use during the shoot. A lovely little studio that I'm sure will make it big once it's been discovered by a few more models and photographers. I look forward to seeing it flourish even further in the future. Did my first model shoot today with a young lady called Sam and we used the studio facilities at Studio99.

Nigel is a lovely chap, very helpful indeed, even lent me a 50mm lens as I hadn't got mine yet. Had a good chat with him before and after the shoot found him very informative.

The studio has a lot to offer any photographer with some nice accessories that can be used at will. Easy to find and get to. I will be going back there and recommend it to anyone wanting to do a studio session.

Nigel is putting a lot of effort into upgrading the studio at the moment. The first half is complete and he's working on the second part of the studio now. Lighting is all being mounted on high level tracks and the flexibility is fantastic. The bonus is that there are no lighting stands etc to trip over, "snag" or to get in the way of moving set pieces. Super concept and, even at they stage, it is working extremely well.

Nigel strikes an excellent balance of being available to help and advise and keep out of the way when appropriate. All very much appreciated, Nigel, It contributed a lot towards a very successful shoot with the fabulous LolaFae.

I look forward to using Studio 99 again and having all the extra set options planned.

I have shot at Studio 99 three times now. Nigel has always been helpful, for my most recent shoot I said that I was looking to do a Game of Thrones themed shoot. He showed me some amazing backdrops. A forest in the snow and one that looked like the red keep at King's Landing. As Tazmin was cosplaying as Sansa Stark we chose the forest in the snow. Great studio to shoot at. I would recommend and hope to shoot there again soon.

Had an awesome studio day today with Studio99! Fully booked! yayy!

Nigel is such a lovely person, is always on hand to help, always has a smile on his face and is just the nicest person! He took me to the shop to get some dinner and everything, what a star!

I managed to get some time in with him to shoot at the end of our shoot. We had so much fun, he had some lovely ideas! We did a mixture of stills and slow motion video stuff. Hes professional, polite, a massive laugh and just in all a really awesome person!

I have worked at Studio 99 twice in the last two months and I have already recommended it to many of my friends, models and photographers! Nigel is ever so friendly, funny and an absolute pleasure to be around. He's always on hand with tea, water, and technical help if needed. The studio is big, with a separate dressing room and so many clothes and props too! I'll definitely be back here more and more! Thanks Nigel x

Used Studio 99 for the first time today and can certainly recommend it to others. Nigel is very obliging and ready to assist as required but otherwise stays in the background. In particular his knowledge of the lighting was most helpful and following his advice and set up my resulting images were technically spot on and needed very little post shoot editing to correct exposures or tones. I used the ballroom background to great effect to get some dramatic shots. Will certainly use this studio again

Another great shoot at Studio 99. It's been about a year or so since I last shot here, the studio was good then, but it even better now. I asked Nigel, the owner for a plain background and briefly described how I'd like the lighting set up. When I arrived it was exactly as requested with the Nigel on hand ready to iron out any potential problems. Needless to say there were no problems at all. Used Studio 99 Newport for the first time today, sadly turned up without the Model. Not to worry Nigel was on the phone and in a few Minutes had arranged a model to fill the Gap. A Lovely Studio with plenty of backdrops and lights, also a French Door with really good Natural Light. Plenty of props and not least a lovely cup of Coffee. An excellent Host so if you are looking for a place to shoot, why not get in touch as I'm sure you will be most Welcome.

Shot here at the recommendation of a model. The studio is well equipped with lights, backgrounds, shooting areas and props. Nigel the owner was on hand to help but not to interfere. I would recommend this studio for anyone shooting west of Offa's Dyke.

I have used Studio 99 a number of times now and it is a great place to shoot.

The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, with a great sense of humour - and makes a cracking cuppa!

The studio is very well equipped, with a vast array of backdrops and props, as well as a lovely glass door which natural light streams through onto a black and white tiled floor - lovely!

If you're looking for a friendly studio that is kitted out well, whether you're a pro or an amateur, give Studio 99 a call.

I had a shoot with Sam (missblond) at Studio 99 last night. I didn't know this gem of a studio existed in a really easy to get to and park part of Newport, but it will be my "go-to" when I'm next in the area. Nigel was very helpful & knowledgeable in setting up and was immediately on-call when I thought we'd try a different backdrop and lighting set up. He also makes really drinkable coffee (a first for me in a studio). He also didn't shout at me when I messaged him after we'd all left to ask him to go back to the studio 'cos I'd left my phone. He even smiled (actually, that might have been a grimace). Thanks Nigel.

I shot a girl / girl set with Chelsea & Carly at studio99. Nigel had the initial set up ready when we arrived. He then left the studio to us to work in but was available if required to help with various set-ups and tips. Loads of options and backdrops available.

I went up to Cardiff to do a sensual vampire shoot with robs photography and Celtic vixen which for the first part we shot outside.

Then we drive to Newport to studio99 for the second part of the shoot,

Nigel was ready for us when we arrived, offered us tea and helped out with the lights when we needed assistance. We had everything we needed to make the shoot a success and I'm really happy.

Aside that, Nigel was nice to speak with and fun in conversation.

Had my 3rd shoot at studio 99 to-day, and yet again Nigel excelled himself - nothing is too much trouble. He dragged out and put up an awesome, woodland, backdrop that hadn't seen the light of day for some time just for my shoot. The lighting was spot-on and with that backdrop the images are brilliant.

Not only that, but Nigel makes a great cup of tea and with his rapport he really puts the model 'at ease' before a shoot. Thoroughly recommended and will be using studio 99 more and more in the future.

Used Nigel's place for the first time yesterday.

Very well equipped, great space, and a charming host. Help when you need it, privacy when you're settled. Would recommend to anyone and WILL be using again. Not much else to say really - it's an easy and relaxed place to work

Not much to say, Nigel is a fantastic host, runs a great and well equipped studio, his rates are perfect, and if you need a great little space then you will be hard pressed to find anywhere better.

Studio99 is first studio ive worked in and im very please to say im very impressed nigel made me feel welcome as soon as my foot entered the door :) a very pleasant and lovely host with excellent rapport!

I recommend studio99 as it has everything you need from props to lighting and expertise.

I would definitely book time again.
