Had a lovely shoot at Zavod Studio yesterday, I found Xenia to be very helpful and friendly, she was on hand throughout the shoot to help with anything we needed and I was very happy with the service provided. There were refreshments on tap and a big jar of sweets too she looked after myself and the model very well!

It is a great space in an old factory and outside the main studio area there are some some really interesting areas to shoot in, with a great room that houses some old industrial machinery where there is also a wonderful elevator that I got some really great shots in. There are large windows plotted up around the place for natural light enthusiasts. The main shooting area had plenty of paper rolls, with backdrop stands and a neat little changing area for models privacy. All in all a lovely studio and studio owner. 100% Recommended from me. It was nice to meet you Xenia!

Anytime that someone asks me what studio we'll shoot in, Zavod is at the top of the list. I must have shot there 20 times in the last year and half. While I like shooting new and different places, there's something about Zavod that makes it special.

Most of that something is Xenia, the studio owner. I've seen her make people feel at ease, especially if they're not used to studios (including me the first time I visited). I've watched as she's expanded the range of items at the studio to the point that I could now just turn up with a camera and I'd be able to shoot...and I'm picky about lighting modifiers.

The main studio room is well stocked with a variety of backdrops, allowing a good range of shooting styles. For the more adventurous, you have access to the communal areas of the factory and it's not every studio you get that opportunity.

Working in Zavod Studio again.

I have to say I liked my return to Sheffield this year and work with Tia and Xenia (studio owner).

I feel alweys welcome there and the studio (new location in the building) is just perfect in order to create good art work.

I think that my plans are to return there egain as soon as possible :)

Keep deliver the great experiance and customer will be happy to return to your studio again and again !!

This was my first shoot at the studio and Xenia made both myself and the model very welcome. I had travelled up from Birmingham and was therefore very glad of a coffee on my arrival. Xenia was extremely helpful in setting up the lighting for us which was a relief as I was new to the studio. She also helped us choose backdrops which were just right for the style of shots I wanted. I will certainly be contacting the studio for another date to shoot when I can.

This was my first visit to the studio and I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Xenia was very helpful throughout the shoot although also happy to stand back and let you get on with it. Helpful without getting in the way. The real bonus for me was having the use of the factory areas which do add a different dimension to the shoot and offer some different backgrounds to what you would normally find in a studio. All in all a very worthwhile and enjoyable day.

It’s always a pleasure to do a photoshoot at Zavod Studio, this time during the modelling weekend with Pippa. As always, comms prior to the shoot were excellent and everyone was ready to start bang on schedule. The studio offers so many creative opportunities, and I was delighted with the sheer variety of images I came away with from the shoot. It’s also a fun place to work, with a relaxed but also highly professional and supportive atmosphere, and everything is geared to ensuring that you get the very best out of a photoshoot. I recommend the studio highly, and will return again as soon as I can.

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

Had a shoot with Pippa on Saturday - I have shot with her before so I knew I would expect the awesome posing and spontaneity with the vibes that are present on the day. I love shooting with her and am so pleased I got the chance again! Results are fabulous and I can't wait to edit more. This was on Pippa's sell out model weekend at Zavod. Xenia was there to assist and knowing that I sometimes struggle with an ongoing pain issue she was at my side continuously to help when needed and nothing was too much trouble for either Pippa or Xenia. I came away glowing with a camera full of wicked images. Thank you so much, best wishes Jann :-)

It was great shooting at Zavod again - my 4th visit ; this time with the excellent Pippa on her Sheffield weekend. We made full use of all of the facilities - from the main studio to the communal areas out in the factory (I still get a bit lost sometimes). As ever Xenia was on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Seeing as I've shot at Zavod umpteen times and it's practically a 2nd home, I'm probably overdue an updated review.

Xenia remains an amazing host. Friendly, helpful, warm, generous, welcoming, attentive and any other superlative you could care to mention.

The studio itself is very well stocked with equipment, backdrops, props, drinks and snack. The equipment list keeps growing too, Xenia's always got some new kit to show me each time I visit. As ever, you've still got access to the common areas of the factory for some variety of location.

Zavod will always be my #1 place to shoot.

This was my first visit to Zavod and my first time meeting/shooting with Xenia and I was not disappointed.

She made me feel so welcome from the second I walked in! The studio is warm and inviting and I felt at ease instantly. I am VERY fussy about where I shoot so I am happy to add this studio onto my very small list of places I recommend ;)

The shoot was seamless and we managed to do 4 looks and even squeeze an outdoor session. Xenia is a pro at lighting and she really will do anything for the perfect shot! Her years of modelling are so apparent by how well she directs and she is just so kind. Is there anything she can't do? :D

Thank you Xenia, for trusting me and for helping me step out of my usual zone.

I would highly recommend Zavod, Xenia as a photographer AND she's also beautiful and very versatile, so why not hire her to model for you whilst you're at it? :D

Honestly I can’t recommend this studio and Xenia highly enough. She goes above and beyond all expectations, and from the very moment the booking is made, to the moment you’re through the door, Xenia’s attention to detail in pre coms is one of the best I’ve known. I’m always well looked after, kept warm, snacks and drinks and Xenia is always on hand to help with lighting and nipping clothes in if I need it. The studio is simply fabulous and a Sheffield gem, it’s certainly one of my favourites and I’ll always return (It goes without saying I’m VERY fussy where I shoot) There are plenty of cool places to shoot in the factory area as well as the studio itself which has a large variety of backdrops to choose from.

If you’re looking for a studio with plenty of character and a warm welcome then please look no further than Zavod. I’m super excited to see the results from our very successful editorial event yesterday.

Once again Thankyou so much for a fabulous day and I can’t wait to sort out another day to return.

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

I visited Zavod studio yesterday for the first time - it definitely won't be my last! Xenia met me at my car (car park is close to studio and easy to find) as she knows that I have difficulty carrying my equipment. She assisted me throughout the shoot and was very efficient. This was on a studio day with another model - Marie Jean Saxton (I have also shot with Xenia who is also a dream to work with). Many thanks Xenia best wishes Jann

Pre-comms with Xenia were excellent. I parked in the nearby charity park which is very convenient and just a 'stones throw' from the studio. Xenia met me at the door to guide me up to the studio, which is housed in an industrial building. The studio is well equipped and laid out. Xenia was on-hand for any queries about the lighting and props & preparing a cup of tea when needed.

All in all the time passed very quickly in a pleasant environment.

Great studio & great hostess. Recommended & in the words of Arny 'I'll be back'.

I had a shoot with Xenia at Zavod on the 8th Feb 23. Only my second shoot with a model and the first in a studio setting.

The studio was well laid out and ready for my arrival and shoot. It's well equipped with everything needed and more, I was spoilt for choice. The Xenias help and guidance we used the best equipment for what I wanted to achieve.

The studio has the added bonus of a small industrial setting with some machinery around and excellent lighting to create some very moody shots. As it's in a public area ie used by some of the factory work force it can only be used for fashion type shoots. But it was great to use.

Xenia kept the refreshments coming as we worked through our shoot. All in all a really enjoyable and productive day.

A 100%+ recommendation and I'm already looking forward to visiting again at some point in the future.

Thanks Xenia you were a wonderful host with technical expertise which was much help.

I had a wonderful time yet again at Zavod Studio today, I applied to one of their short notice shoots and thankfully got accepted. The studio is still amazing like always, clean, big enough for you to experiment in and has a good range of equipment to help you get the perfect shot.

Xenia is the most lovely, talented and hard working person I've ever met, she is enthusiastic, very professional, inspirational and as well as being a fantastic model, she is my favorite photographer.

Would HIGHLY recommend Zavod and Xenia and I will be back!

What a great little space this is - I've shot there on a couple of workshops and had my first 1-2-1 session last week. The space is really flexible - from the main studio to the communal areas (ironically in a working factory that I used to deal with in a previous role [many years ago!]) - and Xenia makes you feel really welcome. Highly recommended.

So, to be fair, this was probably my 3rd shoot at Zavod, since my last review, so apologies for being a slacker.

That said, at least 5 shoots = love the place.

This studio, despite being fairly new, get better every time I visit there, new back drops, equipment, etc, constantly improving, so kudos.

The hosts are amazing, have great experience, from both sides of the lens, so can offer advice and tips, if require, in all respects.

Is this a great place to shoot? Er yes, absolutely it is.

100% Recommended. Zavod may not be Russian for 'You rock', but it is certainly Yorkshire for it. :)

I had a wonderful time yet again at Zavod Studio today, it was the 3rd time I booked in for a 1-2-1 Studio day there, The studio is amazing as always, big enough to pull off a range of poses/styles/themes with plenty of equipment and lights to play with to play with too. Xenia is such a lovely person to be around, enthusiastic, very professional, helps when needed and puts in her input to help get the perfect picture and is a very talented model, photographer and studio owner.

Would HIGHLY recommend and will hopefully be coming back soon.

Great studio and stellar host! Very cool and inspiring space with a nicely set-up studio area, and some really unique factory common areas which afford some very interesting shots. Xenia's pro experience both in front of and behind the camera makes her a great studio owner. She's well attuned to the comfort of the photographer and the model, and is there with help when needed, but steps outs to let the creative flow happen. All this is really appreciated. I look forward to working at Zavod with Xenia again, and recommend for both photographers and models. Thanks Xenia!
