Had such an interesting shoot with Alan today. Alan came round fully prepared with backdrops and all the equipment he needed for the shoot. Alan was really chatty and easy to get along with. He communicated his ideas well to me and we got so many awesome shots.

Alan tried different lighting techniques to produce unique shots. I would love to model for Alan again in the future and recommend him 100%

My latest shoot with Alan: and I’m pretty certain we just get more fantabulous yield each and every time! :D We went with my patch again since there’s several other locations we’d been chatting about that sparked a new level of inspo... And my goodness, the pictures produced. I have no words in all honesty. I could’ve actually done a one word... Okay maybe two word reference saying: “BLOOMIN’ BRILLIANT!” And that would have pretty much summed up everything about the shoot. :P

So then: Waterfalls n’ woodland... Mermaids n’ jungle girls... It’s so much fun working with Alan because he’s totally down for mad ideas and bouncing suggestions around, so I feel totally at ease being like; “well what if I drag a mermaid tail down?” Haha! Cuz’ the thing is; Alan will just make a rock n’ roll picture happen! He cares so much about pristine light and mindful composition to produce that super lovely and aesthetically pleasing picture in all it’s atmospheric glory that you, as a model, just get right into the zone of creating with him. :D Ohh: I forgot to give the teddy bears picnic a mention too! But y’all get the drift. :) The flow is routinely a whole lot of fun and the kinda stuff that gets your brain ticking over and wanting to work. When you see Alan’s pictures in camera that has an even more profound effect, and I’m surprised my leaps and squeaks of excitement couldn’t be heard throughout the woods! :P FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHER. Creatively and technically driven through-and-through making that reasonably okay shot on location something far more WOW with his eye for balancing and creating light within an environment. So much credit for this gentleman.

And we had the usual good ole’ crack too! Probably didn’t stop chattering from start to finish... Laughed a lot... Rolled along with teamwork and just set the standards for the kind of vibe that is the BEST standard for a photoshoot. He’s the very definition of professional, decent and kind and just has gallons of respect for models! I mean: I completely must be repeating myself here based on what I’ve said before, but it’s the truth! Every single word! He’s the nicest human imaginable and great company. :D

Let’s see: the umpteenth gigantic “highly recommend” shout from Keira. And that will be the case long into the future. :)

We got another studio sesh in! :D

To be fair, I adore working at Alan's studio as much as I do out and about as it gives us a different dimension of creativity to work with. Alan really goes to town on his amazeballs lighting techniques (and they really are - believe me when I say that!) You get the chance to really build a scene of which you have total control to stylise at will. Not to mention outfits to hand, makeup desk... Did I mention lush teas/snacks to hand?

Here's some reasons for me to rave about coming to AW Artworks studio:

-Alan will host and look after the model to the best of his ability.

-You will have all the refreshments (herbal tea included!) and nourishment you need offered to you to feel ready to rock the shoot.

-His well kitted out studio space is a magic cavern of creativity.

-Alan always has his eye out for new additions to his own fabulous wardrobe collection! For the models to wear of course. :P

-There is private changing space for models to get themselves sorted - do fandango makeup and what have you.

-He has an impressive and diverse range of lighting/modifier sets which enable him to do basically ANYTHING where a photo is concerned.

We shot with care, ensuring safety etc. with regards to pandemic guidelines. Alan was brilliant and made me feel very safe on my visit - though he has always but all the relevant measure in place to ensure that models feel this way through the whole shoot/any time of the year. His professionalism is pristine - which is why I rate going to work at his studio very highly.

Ideas we covered? Gosh where do I begin!

-Creative beauty/portraits including several different kind of shots/sets.

-Innovative fashion and dressed/conceptual themes with full furniture props sometimes.

-A story telling set for a personal project that Alan is doing a series on.

-Electrifying the model (like making them look electric as apposed to giving them an actual shock! :') )

Good stuff, good stuff!

I just got back from my first shoot with Al and it was a blast despite dull and cold AND wet weather 😂 he came all the way from York to Chesterfield meet me which impressed me. He remained friendly and professional all day and

We achieved some great images together with various locations, even bought me some warm food which was a bonus in my book. Would recommend!

It was just a joy to shoot with this lovely man again as the restrictions of lockdown eased and we managed to plan our next creative venture after sadly having to cancel our previous plan to work together when the height of the pandemic and lockdown hit. But all the more terrific a time was had with the extra wait - we literally always smash it. :D

This time Alan popped over to sunny Halifax again. And as it happens: it was bloomin’ sunny that day, I mean REALLY sunny! Pretty sure we agreed Yorkshire and not Spain haha... But Alan was brilliant as usual: he reassured that plenty of breaks could be taken as and when needed to dash to the shade at our chosen location to cool off between sets. As it happens, Alan is literally the most relaxed and thoughtful photographer on the face of the earth anyway so shooting with him is utterly guaranteed to be non-pressured and looking out for comfort and safety first. I already had the talk given to me on the walk to the derelict brickworks where we carried out the shoot that he did not, under any circumstances, want me to do anything/pose anywhere where I didn’t feel fully safe. He’s a good egg! :)

I was really excited about this shoot as Alan and I had prior chatted about an urbex style shoot and all the wondrously creative possibilities that I knew Alan could make happen with his totally credible drive and enthusiasm for building the shots with light and the environment. He puts his absolute all into each and every idea (there’s no glass half full with Alan!) so a funky location like this: of course he totally slayed it! :D Gels, smoke effects... And even his next-level consideration of wardrobe additions and props! He just puts his heart and soul into his work to drag out images that are packed with atmosphere and general “WOW” factor. I genuinely just love working with him and feel so grateful that he’s also very happy for the models to contribute ideas and get involved which makes shooting with him a total collaborative buzz. Post apocalyptic themes on location: well and truly nailed! :P We could have spent two days at this place and still cooked up new inspo - that’s just what it’s like working with Alan. It gets the innovation flowing.

The images (needless to say) where astounding! Both in the back of the camera before being touched and merely with Alan’s superb expertise of managing the light and ensuring it was always balanced (don’t forget that we’re talking scorching sunlight mixed in with all kinds of fun flash ideas here!) And it didn’t even stop there because after Alan got some processed then his brilliant editing genius mind made even cooler work of the shots. :P

Nothing has changed since the last feedback essays that I spammed Alan with: he’s still a 5 star 24 Carat gentleman with endless amounts of respect for the people he works with. His professionalism shines through his wonderful character; but there is still a huge amount of laughs and chatter that take place on our shoots which make the whole process of aiming towards those killer images quite light-hearted and generally enjoyable. :) I honestly have no idea where the time goes when we shoot, but it certainly seems to disappear at an astonishing rate! I have my suspicions however that this may be down to the awesomeness rating of the fellow creatives you’re teamed up with. :D

I had my second shoot as model with Alan yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Alan is working with me on a makeup project of mine over a few separate shoots and so far I'm thrilled with the results. He puts a lot of time into researching exactly what I'm after prior to the shoot and works above and beyond to get the final result. Alan is also friendly and welcoming, gives good direction and I can highly recommend to any model

I had a shoot with Al today at his lovely home studio. We shot for 5 hours and produced some amazing pictures. Alan was really helpful and helped me get good poses. His chilled out personality really made for a pleasant shoot.

Not only did we have a fun shoot but I even got made a cheese sandwich and many cups of tea! Winner winner.

I would shoot with Alan again and encourage other models to do so. You won’t be disappointed.

I would 100% recommend Alan for a shoot. He communicated very clearly prior to the shoot and was kind enough to pick me up from the local station. On set he was professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Alan had a lot of ideas and made sure I was comfortable during the shoot.

I worked with Alan again for the second time last week & yet again everything went to plan! I really enjoy working with Alan because not only does he add creative ideas to the shoot, he also is very genuine & kind hearted. He looks after his models in the best way he possibly can as well as preparing them refreshments whenever asked & always remembers to offer them. He has a great eye for photography & has a beautiful at home studio that he works in.

My fourth and fifth shoots with Alan were both an absolute delight, as always.

I think of Alan as a good friend now and our shoots are among some of my favourites that i have done and i feel that our work just gets better and better.

It certainly helps that we are on the same page creatively which makes for great results. Alan knows the kind of model i am and, as i consider myself to be an actress first and foremost, Alan always has interesting themes, lighting styles and props in mind for me which i hugely appreciate as i never feel like i am being made into something i am not. I also appreciate that Alan takes my opinion into consideration, always asking me throughout the shoot how i feel about the progress, what i feel is working and what isn't, therefore our shoots always feel truly collaborative.

Alan is a lovely person; fab company... we don't half gas when we get together!... he's always the consummate gentleman, professional in his approach, talented and with a real passion for nailing the shot.

I am sure i am repeating myself from my previous references but i think these things can never be said enough.

Highly, highly recommended from me.

If I had to describe what it’s like working with Alan in three words - how many go’s do I get? BECAUSE THERES WAY TOO MANY ADJECTIVES OF BRILLIANT DESCRIPTIVENESS TO CHOOSE FROM!! :P

There is never a moment when we get stuck for funky ideas, never a moment when the laughs aren’t burning a hole in the roof, never a moment when we’re not grafting as a team to make those piccies in the back of the camera utterly stupendous! Time and time again; it’s a shoot I will thoroughly enjoy, and working with Alan again on a future occasion is 1000% something to personally look forward to. :D I seriously feel so blessed to get to do my job (the very job that I love so very much!) and get to literally spend a day allowing innovation of the best kind run away and make arty/crazy goodness! Crikey - is this real?! Yes it is... And this gentleman is a pure example of the sublime collaborative value that I am talking about whenever I bring up the topic in conversation about what is so rewarding in modelling.

Each time we have shot, we have always mixed it up one way or another... Alternating locations of the shoot, to cooking up and working carefully on specific ideas. Alan is not only a star photographer with a tremendously passionate approach, but he’s just a fun and interesting person in his own creativity and ideas. :) As a model: that is pure inventive fuel! Because you might do many a shoot where you are actually inputting ideas (and that very much happens when I work with Alan too!) but the sheer thought process and fearlessness at executing something is seriously something to applaud. He isn’t afraid to think “outside the box” and roll with unusual or quirky concepts... Or even scenarios that offer a bit more of a challenge for the photographer (i.e. light etc.) So it was due to be another shoot that left two artsy nutters utterly “worked out” in brain power and teamwork “high- fives” haha! I’m not even joking; you finish such a shoot on one helluva buzz that you can’t concentrate for the rest of the day! No joke! :P

Our latest shoot we executed at my home having run through a set of specific brain-waves... And even a full day just dissolved in thin air. Where on earth did that time go, please explain?!? Light paintings in the dark, underwater Avant Garde’ plus beauty portraits and then epic slik fashion in ambient garden lights. NO WORDS! Except maybe: SUPATROOPERAMAZEBALLSTASTIC!

And amid my gibberish, I must clearly point out that Alan is a very dedicated and driven photographic mind whose care and attention begins way before he has picked up the camera and whilst the pre-shoot comms are still happening! He really does put his heart and soul into it which then just shines more on the actual day of said shoot. He injects patience along with an ingenious eye to make the set work and grab the killer shot... And though he’s got great visions and a goal in his mind of what he may be working towards - he will never stop involving the model as an important contributor of the shoot. The bounce is rife from start to finish, even though this dude is epic at his stuff all in his own right! :D

What kind of photographer is Alan? A PROFESSIONAL PINEAPPLE PROFESSOR!!

Is he respectabubble? T’moon n’ back! [insert proper Yorkshire accent]

Will y’all lose your voices doing so much chatter? Yes. That’s all.

Are his digital messages in a bottle to get the plannings planned all on-pointe?! Hand-delivered by a mermaid and concise as can be. :)

Do I recommend this guy? Ya, maybe. HELL YESS!!!

Just had my second shoot with Alan, he is so full of fabulous and creative ideas.

As before Alan is welcoming and friendly, plans had to change due to the weather but with some quick, good thinking from Alan we managed to capture some awesome images! He was very considerate of how I was doing/feeling in the cold!

Fully recommend. Can't wait to work together again

I had my first shoot with Alan last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm doing a makeup project that will take over several shoots and I couldn't have been any happier with the start we made. Alan researched my theme well and was enthusiastic about my idea. On the day of the shoot he was very welcoming and made me feel at ease. Alan gave me great direction throughout the shoot and went out of his way to make sure we got the desired effects. I cannot wait for the next stage of our project and look forward to working with Alan again next month

My second shoot with Al and just as good and as much fun, if not more fun than the first.

I really enjoy shooting with Al because, apart from many other reasons, I have some health issues and I know that isn't a problem for him. He always makes sure that I'm fine and comfortable and happy on a shoot and that really does help me relax and do the best that I can do rather than worrying.

Al is such a talented photographer and editor and really puts all his enthusiasm and skill into each and every shoot he does and I am thrilled with the results we get.

I don't actually think that photographers like Al come along that often with the whole package of being great at what they do and also being a really fab person to boot aswell so I would say to any models out there, get yourself booked in for a shoot with Al. He'll enhance your portfolio ten fold and you'll also have a fun and fabulous day at the same time.

I can't recommend him highly enough, not just as a photographer but as a person aswell.

Al was a delight to work with, offer to pick me up for the shoot which was a big help. Where able to capture some amazing shots during the duration of the photoshoot,he looked after both I and the model throughout offering tea.

Alan knew what he wanted to capture and even provide me with some inspo image to help me create the look. He work in a professional manner but was able to have a chill converation

So happy I had the chance to have worked with Alan, Can wait for out next Photoshot, hopefully a full day cause that would be amazing. Cant wait for the final Images.
