Attended one of Chris' portfolio builder events at Neon Dreams Studio recently and it did not disappoint. Watching Chris create each lighting setup was mesmerising. His attention to detail is staggering. He runs the events like clockwork allowing each photographer 2-3 minutes time to take photos of the model and come away with some fabulous shots. I would certainly recommend any of his portfolio building events to anyone. Thanks Chris for reigniting my passion for photography. Can't wait to come down to Plymouth to try out your studio in the New Year.

I attended a portfolio builder group shoot at Aura studio in Weedon led by Chris. He created some great lighting set-ups over the evening, and helped us photographers get the best out of them. His long exposure set, in particular, helped to create some unique images. His use of a timer to control the length of the 1 on 1 shoot of each photographer on each set made sure that we all got equal time with the model.

On weekend the 11/12th of June I was very lucky to meet and worked with the fantastic Chris from his studio(Trident Studio) in Plymouth.

Chris is a true pro!!! From the pre comms, to the organisation of the event, to making sure that the model has regular breaks and endless amounts of coffee, to the lighting sets and time slots everything was professional, punctual with clear instructions.

Chris is creative, very down to earth and super easy to work with . The weekend was a lot of hard work for Chris as we had in person and remote portfolio builder groups but Chris was simply awesome and never stopped working and making sure that all clients where happy.

Also special thanks to Amie for all the help, smiles and for all the coffee :)

If you get the opportunity to work with Chris grab it with both hands, of course highly recommended!

Chris served as assistant for my remote shoot with Amie Boulton, moving lights and cameras as I asked, and generally making the shoot run smoothly.

Far more than just an assistant, though, Chris applied his knowledge and experience in setting gelled lights, or changing to a more appropriate lens, or countless other things, all without my actually asking, seemingly reading my mind whenever I paused, and always achieving my end goal.

I was so happy when Chris messaged me asking if I would like to shoot with him as he was in my area. We decided to shoot at my house, where we went through variety of different sets. It was a quick but very productive shoot. We already spoke about shooting with each other again at Chris’s photography studio in Plymouth. I’m so looking forward to working with Chris again and of course seeing the edited images! :)

Just finished another of Chris's portfolio builder events along with Amie, as normal a well run event and an absolute shed load of images to sort through, I always enjoy his events and would recommend to anyone.

I have learnt a lot from him by watching and doing but sometime its just a luxury to have it all done for you and you just click the button with awesome results.

Booked Chris for a 1:1 tuition day with Amie Boulton with the expectation that I would be working with two of the best and I was not disappointed.

It should be more than obvious from his work that Chris really knows what he is doing and I am even more impressed after meeting him in person.

Admittedly I had very little idea when it comes to studio photography, but I found Chris to be extremely knowledgeable and patient enough to dumb things down to the level I needed to get the most from the session.

I had my first tuition shoot with Amie and Chris today @ inspire and it was really great. I could not have asked for a better teacher than Chris and Amie is totally amazing. Not only did I learn heaps being on a 1-1 basis with Chris, but i have many amazing images of Amie from the shoot to show for it.

I could not recommend them highly enough, and will be watching out for when they are next up this neck of the woods to book them again.

An Eye for Beauty

I enjoyed a 1:1 workshop with Chris and model Amie Boulton, which had been postponed from the spring because of the lockdown and restrictions. It was worth waiting for. As someone who mainly uses natural light (until this year) and a bit of a technophobe, it was refreshing to have a series of scenarios with a very practical outcome, and I could see clearly how some of those possibilities could be easily created. I have been on a number of lighting course some years back, and when Chris explained things simply it somehow all came together. I look forward to implementing some of these ideas in the not too distant future. Meanwhile thanks to both Chris and Amie for their patience. It was a good three hours worth!

Enjoyed an excellent session on studio lighting with Chris and Amie Boulton on Friday. I'm far from new to the game, but learnt some new stuff and remembered plenty of old stuff that I'd long forgotten :-).

The teaching content was excellent and perfectly paced, with the right mix of listening vs shooting.

Chris's reputation for excellent light is well known, and I confirm that he's equally good at psssing the knowledge on! Definitely recommended.
