Always a pleasure working with David. This time it was at his new studio space in Chiswick - what a lovely space!

We flew through three looks with ease and the pictures were absolutely stunning.

Highly recommended!

Thanks David

I'm a bit of a portrait/people newby having only done a couple of studio days. David worked hard through the day to arrange a number of looks and lighting setups. The shoot I did yesterday really enthralled me and I was able to achieve what I think are my best people shots to date. Many thanks David I'll look out for other sessions.

Today I was finally able to attend my second workshop with David, after a long Covid-induced delay (it was originally planned for November 2020!). The passage of time and the events of the last couple of years have brought many changes to the world, but David's workshops are still just as fantastic as before :-)

This one was titled "Soulful Portraiture" and was held in a larger commercial studio venue for better social distancing amongst the group of attendees. I was lucky enough to shoot the very lovely Amalia at this event (exactly as I had booked up for 18 months ago) and the combination of David's brilliant setups and Amalia's good looks and talent allowed me to capture some beautiful images.

We worked through five different sets, and with half a dozen photographers shooting each one it's inevitable that each person's shooting time is limited, but it says a lot for David and the excellent models that he always books that I was still able to get great shots from every setup, with the only duds being ones where I either didn't turn on the trigger or else forgot to remove the lens cap! xD

David also provided a short introductory talk explaining his general approach to photography, and ended with a session demonstrating what he does in post-processing to achieve his signature look. Lunch was also provided, plus all the tea, coffee and biscuits that anyone could want in one day.

All in all another excellent workshop, and I highly recommend any of David's workshops to anyone with an interest in studio photography.

I was at David's 'Soulful Portraiture' workshop described very well in Steve Pearl's reference. Like Steve, it was my second one with David so knew what to expect: great model and great use of colour, textures and lighting in a very relaxed conversational atmosphere. If you think you might like to do one of David's workshops hesitate no longer - just book one!

I traveled from Belfast to participate in David's "Art of Monochrome" workshop, and while I had high expectations having attended an online course previously, the in person event exceeded those expectations.

The pre workshop communications were excellent and on the day David kicked it off by running through the days itinerary, followed by a presentation, and then the actual shooting part of the day.

We shot 5 different sets and each one offered something a little different, while all being recognisable as shot in David's style.

The model for the day, Michaela, was outstanding, easy to work with, very professional but also very personable. Able to pose without direction, Michaela was also quite happy to take suggestions and eager to ensure that each of the photographers were happy with the shots they were getting.

After we finished shooting David walked us through a couple of live edits of how he approaches his editing and showed his complete workflow.

Facilities were excellent with tea, coffee, bottled water and lots of snacks available throughout that day, and David had also brought in a selection of fresh sandwiches for lunch.

All in all, an outstanding day and if you're wondering should you attend one of David's workshops, just do it - you won't be disappointed.

The previous weekend I attended one of David’s photography workshops in Corsham - titled 'Soulful Portraiture' with Carla Monaco. Pre and post comms were excellent. The workshop was very professionally managed – there were five sets – each carefully thought out and with Carla wearing outfits chosen to suit each scene - David’s pre-shots were displayed on a tethered screen – all the results were impressive moody images. Regarding Carla – a very distinctive and attractive model – and of course every shot impeccable

An Eye for Beauty

I have just attended a workshop on 'Soulful Portraiture' run by David, and was very impressed. The day passed remarkably quickly in spite of the fact I was suffering from a cold/cough and not feeling my best. I really warmed to David's introduction which dealt with the creative and artistic side of lighting and set up for portraits rather than being bored by formulae. The model was Carla Monaco with whom it is difficult to take a poor image. They worked together well and each of us five photographers was able to watch while David took time to set up five different scenarios, working closely with Carla on clothes to complement the backgrounds. Then each of us in turn had a chance to shoot and retain samples of the work. There may not be many images at the end of the day but they were the tip of the iceberg for what was an enjoyable and lasting heritage. Thank you, David and Carla.

I worked with the super talented David for a few hours for a joint photography project. The first part of the project was a fashion assignment for Davids daughters photography which was such great fun, modelling one of my favourite red ball gowns from the 1950s. SO many beautiful images!

The second part of the shoot was a portraiture shoot with my husband, with me wearing my bespoke Wedding dress. I absolutely LOVED the images and will definitely print a few for our wedding album! David was also kind to book a MUA for the photoshoot (Claudia Lucia; https://claudialucia.com/ ) and I loved the work we achieved together.

David is such a professional and a gentleman to work with. He comes with the highest recommendation. Thankyou so much David and really hope to work with you again soon! Helen x

I attended the fantastic Low Key & Fine Art Workshop run by David today. A range of classy looks were set up by David with full explanations of what he was doing and why, and it was amazing to see what is possible in a relatively small space when you know how.

David was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. He's clearly a master at what he does and he is equally passionate about sharing his knowledge with others. As well as a good amount of shooting time with the lovely Nicky Phillips, the workshop also included background information about different lighting techniques plus editing tuition in Photoshop. Lunch was included, along with tea/coffee throughout, while masks and hand sanitizers kept everyone Covid-safe.

I very much recommend David as both photographer and tutor, and hope to attend more of his workshops in the future.

I have been a fan of David's work for a while now, so when lockdown finally eased it was great to get the chance to finally work together!

The sets that David organises are amazing, each one more intricate and detailed than the last! He puts so much thought into the little details, and utilises the space really well.

The shoot went really smoothly, time flew by and it was such a fun afternoon! One of the loveliest photographers I've worked with, I hope we get the chance to work together again soon! 100% recommend :)

Another superb workshop with the lovely David. His knowledge of lighting, composition and colour palette is amazing, and he shares this with his students so generously. I am always made to feel welcome, well-fed (come for the food if nothing else!), respected and beautifully photographed. I can't recommend David more highly and look forward to next time.

Been wanting to shoot with David for such a long time and was thrilled to finally arrange something. The shoot could not have been more enjoyable or have gone smoother; it was relaxed, fun and varied. David has an incredible eye for colours, textures and backgrounds. His studio is beautiful and full of fascinatingly wonderful shooting props. He had an assistant with him called Lucy who was absolutely lovely. We did 5 sets in 3 hours and we were all utterly stoked with the results - wait til you see the edits! He really is amazing and I highly recommend working with him should you get the opportunity. Thanks again David x

I sat for a second workshop with David recently, and once again loved it! The sets he builds are brilliant. The colour palettes always beautiful. He has a very small studio space but utilises it SO well. As an experienced professional model of ten years I dont offer TF shoots, but I made exception for this particular photographer because I think he really is one of the best in the business. Highly recommended once again.

Shadows and LIght

I attended one of David’s workshops yesterday and found it to be a very enjoyable and informative experience. He has a very friendly and relaxed manner and teaches you in a way which feels more like osmosis than strict learning yet he is also patient and willing to recap for the slower ones amongst us (me!). He is thorough and dedicated to ensuring that everyone obtains maximum benefit from the day. What is also unusual is that he is happy to share the techniques he uses for his incredible trademark style and we all came away with some stunning images (Thanks also Mischkah).

It was a real pleasure meeting and learning from David and I have already discussed some Photoshop tuition with him for the near future. Very highly recommended.

Attended one of David's fine art photography workshops at his studio in Corsham. A thoroughly enjoyable, interactive and relaxed experience from start to finish. Lovely lunch and fantastic model (Mischkah), and came away not only with some terrific images, but also some new ideas about lighting, editing and use of colour and texture. David knows his stuff and would definitely recommend to other photographers and models.

I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the quality of editing and attention to detail EPW displays in the finished product! Love how David has mastered his own unique style within the editorial style genre. Loved not modelling nude for a change, loved that he only shoots fashion. brilliant. Clear example of "True Photography". A distinct style, refined and developed with attention to styling, makeup, hair and most importantly the lighting and editing of an image.

IF you want to shoot images that look professional standard, this is the workshop for you.

Cant wait for my return in September

Extremely highly recommended

I worked with David for the first time at his fine art photography workshop at his studio. David is not just a super nice gentleman, but he is a very talented photographer as well. He only needs to take a few shoots to get amazing images and I love that he prefers quality over quantity. David's workshop was very relaxed and well organised with a small group of people. The delicious lunch was provided including the cake! I thoroughly enjoyed working with David and I look forward to working with him again in the near future. Thank you so much David!

I took part in one of David's low key & fine art photography workshops can thoroughly recommend it. David's work speaks for itself, but he is a good teacher as well. His calm but friendly demeanour is similar to his style of photography.

The workshop was held in David's studio, which was well equipped with lights, props and backdrops to give us a variety of sets to use with the lovely model he had arranged, Amber Rickard.

While the entire day was packed with useful information, from lighting to posing to editing, it never felt hurried or rushed. We had plenty of time to shoot all our shots and also have a delicious lunch provided as well! It was great to be provided with the course notes afterwards, as that will be a helpful reminder.

I found the workshop well worth it and also very enjoyable. Thanks David!

I thoroughly enjoyed my second shoot with David at his workshop.

I was well looked after, fed and watered incredibly well and the images were gorgeous.

I don't do work shops very often at all because I find them quite stressful and full on but Davids workshop is nothing but relaxing and easy going. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend him!
