References for Trident Studio [Studio Hire Plymouth]

This last Saturday I joined in for the latest of many shoot a set days organised by Chris at Trident Studio that I have participated in over the last three years. The concept behind them is fantastic, providing the opportunity to shoot a range of distinct and stunning looks and styles (I have shot everything from simply lit art nudes to vivid coloured lighting, spooky Halloween themed setups, futuristic looking laser projection and more) easily and for an affordable price, and the resulting images are always fantastic with Chris providing fantastic lighting setups and customising setups to your preference where possible. I always enjoy working here during the many remote sessions they run and definitely recommend them.

Another great remote shoot at Trident Studio with Chris on hand to help with lighting and sets. This time the remote was with Katey. The studio had just got a new laser system so we used that to great effect with the assistance of Chris to get the mood I was aiming for from the mood board.

Hopefully next time I use the studio it will finally be in person, but I can highly recommend their remote setup should you see any of the remote events be advertised.

I have shot with Chris (and Amie Jayne) numerous times on their remote shoot events and also some 1:1 shoots.

Most recently I had a remote shoot with Caitlyn J that Chris was hosting.

A big thank you to Chris for his consistently high quality studio, the effort he puts in and his mastery of the various lighting set ups that were required for the very last minute inspiration shots I had sent through.

I still hope to one day make it for an in person shoot at Chris’s studio but based on my multiple remote shoot experiences I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Chris and his very well equipped studio.

Back at Trident Studio again via remote this time during their Caitlyn studio days. Chris as ever was on hand to get lighting and sets in place from a mood board I had sent a few days earlier. We got five different looks with Chris changing sets and lighting quickly between Caitlyn changing outfits so we were ready to go as soon as she was.

I can highly recommend Trident as a studio that if you see them putting up castings for remote shoot or even in person shoot, to book on and you'll get great results.

Over the last few years I have had a number of shoots at Trident Hire studios (Plymouth) both group shoot and one-to-one shoots. On arrival you are always made welcome with a offer of a cup of tea or coffee. I have found the studios well equipped, organised, clean and warm to ensure you have a good shooting experience whilst there. Chris Conway, the owner of the studios is on hand to ensure the lighting is correct and to give the photographer any advice as required. I can recommend these studio to any photographer, beginner or experienced.

Over the past couple of years I have done numerous remote shoots at Trident, ranging from a couple of my own bookings to their organised themed events and their shoot-a-set days and the experience is always an excellent one. Chris' lighting and backdrops are always fantastic and he is always on hand to provide top notch technical expertise. My remote shoots here never disappoint and I always come away with great images. Very highly recommended!

It's been a while since I last shot at Trident as the trip down is quite long but my trip down was certainly worth it. I shot first on the group shoot with Miss Ruby which was very well run, had a number of varied sets and looks some of which I was able to pick up some tips to take away for my own shoots on, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

As I was travelling a fair way I'd talked with Chris about doing a short shoot afterwards with someone local who I might not usually manage to shoot with and he came up with some great suggestions including the model I shot with.

Chris was a great help with some tips on getting the look I was trying to achieve as I was probably rushing at times to try and fit things in and not thinking things through properly.

Trident is a well equipped studio and everything I needed for my shoot was available plus Amie had some great suggestions on reducing creasing on the backdrops I'd brought along.

It's a trek for me to visit but worth it.

Studio shoot at Trident with Meg Thomas today, an excellent place to work.

As a bit of a newbie to studio work Chris was on hand to set up lighting and to give advice if needed, but stayed out of the way during shoot. Great props room, so I could get a variety of looks and ideas

I had the opportunity to book Trident Studios for a 1:1 tuition session with Chris Conway and Amie Boulton and was very happy with everyone and everything involved.

The studio is a great space to work in and is equipped with top quality gear.

Being a complete novice when it comes to studio photography I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but both Chris and Amie were very patient and managed to dumb everything down to a level where I'm confident that I will see improvements in my work.

Highly recommended.

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

This year alone, I have done 4 shoots with these two lovely people and I had several last year too. Just wanted to say how well organised the shoots are, Chris & Amie go out of their way to make sure it is enjoyable and that you will come away with some great images. I can't say enough good things about Trident Studios (Studio Hire Plymouth). Chris has premium equipment, is very helpful, and has a wonderful space that offers so many options. I have had the pleasure to shoot remotely via Trident studios several times and can't wait to jump into the next concept they come up with.

Booked a few sessions of the remote shoot event using the Bean can background that Chris & Amie created. I did a couple of the standard 10 minute sessions on one day and a longer hour freestyle session the next.

I wasn't quite sure what I would be able to do on the shorter sessions but was impressed how much I could do with changing the lenses and composition.

The setup was very good and once I got used to the layout and watching the webcam for the live view I felt confident in what I was doing.

The freestyle session was more like a normal studio day where I defined the lighting and look I was looking for and Chris plus Amie helped me bring it to life. We managed all 3 ideas I had within the time and I'm very much looking forward to getting the files from todays session as we got some real crackers and different looks from the preset looks.

It was a great shoot and it was very helpful working with 2 experienced people who were focused on helping me achieve what I was looking for. Received both JPGs plus RAW files via dropbox and the quality was as you'd expect from the equipment, first rate.

Booked another remote shoot at Trident & again it was a class act.

Chris is a top bloke & really knows his stuff & always produces excellent lighting & setups. He works tirelessly with Amie & they make such a great team.

Would love to meet them both in person one day, but until then, I will continue to support remote shoots which are always fun to do.

Top marks from me & one of the best remote setups in the country IMO.

Highly recommended.

Booked a 1:1 lighting class with Chris at his Plymouth studio with Amie Boulton modelling.

The 3 hours flew by.

Starting from the basics and covering a large number of techniques, this was a well constructed informative session. Chris and Amie work really well together, so you won't be wasting your money, if like me you wanted to get more experience in studio shooting. Oh, and got some awesome images too😁

Definitely will be booking the studio again
