I joined Alastair via Zoom today for a useful Remote Post Production Workshop.

The tuition covered the whole workflow from importing files into Lightroom and making various adjustments to the RAW file, through to editing (retouching, sharpening and liquifying) in Photoshop, and then exporting the finished files in lo-res or hi-res versions targeted at social media upload or printing. The use of sync and creating presets in Lightroom was new to me and is a big time-saver; similarly for creating actions in Photoshop.

Alastair was friendly and helpful throughout the session, giving me plenty of time to take control of the mouse and try out techniques that he had demonstrated, and ask any questions I had along the way.

I have been using these programs for over a year already but still learned numerous new tricks today, so I would certainly recommend Alastair to anyone else also wishing to improve their knowledge in this area.

This occasion was my third group shoot with Alastair. Two shoots have been remote using a tether to his camera and the setup just works. He does a great job of lining up everything needed for the group shoots with models, outfits, props and lighting all on the money with every shoot.

Getting tethers to work reliably for remote shooting isn't easy (from personal experience) but Alastair has managed the process well. He made sure that a good quality camera and lens was available and was on hand to support with anything I needed doing in the room with camera position, focus, lighting, props, etc to make the shoot a success.

Post shoot, the images were delivered to me quickly and the quality is outstanding.

Great fun and looking forward to the next one.

I have done a couple of Group Shoots with Alastair this year and also booked the Studio out privately for one on one shoots. Alastair is always totally reliable as a Studio Owner. He is always early and the Studio is set up ready to go. Alastair has a fantastic knowledge of lighting set ups and his Photography work is of a very high quality. He is always happy to assist Photographers capture the right image. The Group shoots are run well and have a clear protocol to them which works well. I would definately recommend the Studio to hire and Alastair as a Photographer to work with. See you for the next shoot on Sunday Alastair! Many Thanks for everything :) x

Attended a group session for Halloween with Gemma modelling and on makeup. The group shoots are always great fun, the atmosphere is always relaxed and professional and Alastair makes sure the results are on point, but gives you space to experiment. Gemma did an amazing job with the Halloween makeup and brought two unique and terrifying looks for us to capture.

Looking forward to the next group shoot once it's allowed again.

Returned to Alastair's studio for an enjoyable evening group shoot. The theme was flour and powder paint, so with LottiiRose's energy, Alastair's planning and co-ordination, we got some great images. Thanks, looking forward to the next one!

Had a great group shoot at Alastair's studio with the lovely Gemma. Alastair was friendly, welcoming and highly professional. I was impressed with the way in which he handled the COVID 19 constraints. I look forward to visiting the studio again in the near future and recommend this facility to other photographers and models.

My second time working with Alastair at one of his workshops - This time a long expousre and light play session and I've already got two more sessions in the pipeline. Always a pleasure coming to these. Alastair is very knowledgeable and adjusts his shoots to his audience working with beginner, intermediate and advanced photographers simultaneously. I went along to this one from a last minute casting where there was a space left. He was quick to and concise with his communications given the short time scale we had and he gave me a very warm welcome back to the studio for the first time in over a year! A very fun, friendly and relaxed shoot with a lot of experimentation. Can't wait for the next one (And this time it won't be so long!) Thank you Alastair. I recommend your events to anyone.

Another successful Group shoot last Thursday at Alastairs. I was excited to hear our Pin Up Group shoot sold out in one afternoon! Alastair arranged our group shoot quickly and was well organised on the day especially considering there are now social distance guidelines etc for the studio. Alastair spent 10 mins at the start outlining new procedures and rules and making sure everyone felt comfortable for the shoot. He outlined a plan for the group shoot and everyone followed it well. I am really pleased with the photos produced too - I think the Pin Up workshop created the best results so far. I would always highly recommend Alastair himself as a photographer and his studio to book or attend for a group shoot - hopefully we can do another one soon :) xx

Second time at this studio. First was a lighting workshop which was very informative and I learned how to set lights for various poses and portraits.

Allastair is very competent in his work and that comes across in his teaching. We started off with a COVID rules and regulations talk and the studio was set out so we could distance safely.

The second shoot was a very messy flour shoot. Allastair explained how the shoot was going to work and took shots, showing us the result and the settings we made need for our cameras. We took it in turns to shoot, maintaining a social distance between the group and the model.

The model was very professional and helpful as she could suggest some type of shots that we may not have thought of, or was willing to listen to our suggestions also. All in all, a very successful shoot

Thank you for a fantastic day. With a change in format for the day.

Alistair explained every use of each light how too add extra lights without the use of a light meter.

The light workshop is well worth attending, so much content, a lot to take in but explained really well.

Watch out for future events.

Your learn a lot.

In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere

I attended another group shoot with Alistair, this time we did bodyscapes with a great model Gabriella. Alistair was a great host, explaining each lighting set up and the style of shot we were doing. I had an enjoyably evening despite the social distancing and learned a lot. I highly recommend Alistair and his studio, if you get the chance to attend one of his group photo sessions you wont regret it. Looking forward to the next one :-)

My 2nd group shoot with Alastair. This time a gel shoot with a model called Gemma. The sets were varied giving a lot of different images. As usual it was very good value for money and Alastair always makes sure those with less experience have the opportunity to ask questions. All in all a pleasant evening getting some great images in good company. I have to add that the hygiene and social distancing measures put in place were excellent.

I attended the studio for the first time at a group shoot organised by Alistair using Gels with a fantastic model called Gemma. Alistair was very welcoming and arranged different setups for a variety of images, he also provided advice when the occasional camera glitch occurred or where newer togs needed it. Fantastic value for money so much so I have signed up for another group shoot. As we are just getting out of the lockdown the hygiene and social distancing measures put in place worked well.

It was a last minute decision to join the group shoot that Alastair had organised and I was very glad I did. The barley field location he'd selected was fantastic and the choice of model, Gabriella Knight, was perfect too. During the shoot he ensured we got the opportunity to get a varied selection of shots and provided us with plenty of tips and ideas.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for further events and hopefully will shoot with him again soon.

I am fairly new to photography and have been picking up various bits of advice from work colleagues etc. I have now attended two of the group shoots organised by Alistair, one in the studio with Stephanie Dubois and the second was in a Barley field with Gabriella Knight. He and both models along with those who also attended to shoots were all extremely welcoming, giving greatly appreciated advice and assistance when required. I have absolutely no worries about recommending him or his shoots. I only wish I had started photography earlier.

So I attended my second shoot in a week with the fantastic Alastair Currill and once again he picked a superb model to join us and a stunning location. We were joined on the night by the beautiful little bundle of fun that is Gabriella Knight.

Alastair was once again a brilliant teacher and organiser for the event. He was very well organised and prepared for all eventualities (which included spare kit when the wind played havoc with the lighting system) Just like before he made sure everyone had fun on the shoot and got what they came for. I highly recommend him to any level of photographer but as a beginner myself, he is perfect to get you on the road to taking stunning images. I have already made my intentions clear that I will be attending more of his events in the future. I cant wait.

I attended a location group shoot organised by Alastair and only signed up at the last minute. LottiiRose was the model and it was to be a poppyfield shoot. Alastair provided the lighting and any help needed.

This was my first proper shoot after being cooped up for 3 months and I really needed it to blow the cobwebs away. All social distancing guidelines were adhered to. The atmosphere was very chilled with no big egos getting in the way and everyone just took their turn and got the shots they wanted.

All in all a great event that I'd be happy to do again.
