References for Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

My second shoot at this wonderful place near Leek was a duo/trio shoot with Nicole Rayner & Keira Lavelle and the owner Leanne (Miss_C) .

I couldn't have wished for a better place to do this photo shoot the light in the house (for that's what it is) is just superb and surrounding garden (OK 3 acre woodland) is just wonderful and so managed to get some fabulous images. Can't wait to go back, hopefully the garden which they are on with at the moment will be finished and add some more places to shoot.Highly recommend by me and here's to my next visit.

My first shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio - and *spoiler* - it certainly won't be my last.

First of all the comms from Basford/Leanne were excellent - professional, comprehensive and included everything I needed to know in advance.

On the day Leanne/Steve were welcoming, friendly, professional - and after a cup of tea and a tour around left us to get up to our own devices, but were there if we needed anything on the shoot.

And then as for the location/studio - in short its fantastic. Lots of different areas, plenty of space / light / high ceilings etc. and a lot of unique things to utilise.

I was only there for two hours, so only scratched the surface of what was available, but I've already booked to go back again.

All in all very highly recommended, and well worth the trip......

Today I worked at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio for the second time the first on a one to one shooting basis.

Firstly thank you for helping with the AA and my non starting Teutonic vehicle.

This location is amazing the more you visit the more opportunities you see, the grounds offers great opportunities, Leanne is very helpful with setting up items to support my wacky concept ideas.

This location has so many small locations that you can use to create the quality images you are always searching for. Conscious I have 3 more events this year and then I may have scratched the surface of what is possible, always be conscious it is someone's home and respect that and you will have another premium quality location to support your hobby.

Very Highly Recommended.

Wow what a venue! Was part of the team running the secret con workshop today and I have to say the owners were amazing, accommodating and just generally lovely people.

The venue itself was everything a photographer could want, stunning room and outdoor areas. Could shoot there for days on end and still have more to shoot!

If you get the chance, shoot here, it’s by far one of true best venues I have ever shot at!

I shot at Basford Hurst Cottage for the first time yesterday as part of a cosplay photography I ran there. I honestly cannot recommend this venue highly enough. It is stunningly beautiful, and has a huge range of plcaes to shoot inside and out. We spent a full day there and still came away knowing we had not shot everything. It really does have everything you could ever want.

Leanne was fantastic from start to finish, extremely well organised, professional, accommodating and friendly with everyone who attended the event.

I will definitely be back!

Well, what can we say about this place??

Words just cannot describe how stunning this venue really is. We ran one of our Cosplay Photography Workshops days there this weekend, and it simply excelled in every aspect.

Tons of space and variation inside and out, and is ran by such lovely people who clearly have a passion for what they do. Leanne was extremely professional, well organised and could not do enough for us to make sure our day went as smoothly as possible.

I would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to shoot or run an event. You won't be disappointed. We will certainly be back soon.

I shot at Basford Hurst Cottage recently with Secret Con on a Cosplay Workshop.

I had seen images come out of this amazing studio and knew I had to make the trip, then Secret Con organised a Cosplay day! It was fate!

The hosts, Leanne and Simon, were so welcoming and lovely. Hot drinks and biscuits were offered seconds after being welcomed in! And once our full party of superheroes, a princess, and even a ghoul arrived, we were shown around this absolutely beautiful property.

This place is stunning! What can I say? Just look at all the photos that come out of this place! I could happily shoot here again and again; there are so many locations left to explore, and I feel like I've just scratched the surface of what this studio offers.

The only negative in my full day of shooting? I had to leave!

I will be back! Thank you for a wonderful day!

I shot at Basford Hurst a few weeks ago with Ivory Flame and arranged another shoot there today.

Due to circumstances I actually shot with Miss_C (Leanne) and what an afternoon.

The weather was superb and we shot quite a lot outside. Some amazing light and locations.

There is so much to do at Basford. The light is changing all the time and gives the sort of effects I love.

The drive is a bit bloody but when you have somewhere like this, you put up with it and shoot and shoot.

Totally recommended.

Well I actually turned up at the studios as this is a reference for a building that cant move around so of course it was there when I arrived.

I attended a studio day for Infinity Valerie today and had planned out a number of sets that I wanted to do, the place is wonderful, lots of places to shoot and you always find somewhere else that you want to work for the next shoot.

It really has it all and I have to say hats off this time to Leanne for the excellent cup of tea and KitKat that she had ready for me. I really enjoy working at the studios and look forward to my next shoot there.

Highly recommended place, private, but with everything that you need to take excellent images with your models. Outstanding in my view. Don't take my word for it book the place and find out for yourself.

I had an absolutely wonderful and enjoyable first studio day at the gem that is Basford Hurst Cottage!

Leanne is a joy and a wonderful host, although the first event had to be rescheduled because of strikes, Leanne was very understanding and accommodating.

The pre comms were excellent and once I arrived to the studio, Leanne's hospitality and warmth really made me feel welcome and set the right tone for the rest of the day.

The studio itself is stunning, the light, the features, the never ending possibilities for shots!It really is a fantastic place and I can highly recommend it to other models and photographers, I will be coming back ASAP! Thank you so much for being so kind, welcoming and making the day a success! Thank you for making your beautiful property available to all creatives, it's an aesthetic pleasure for the eyes and soul!

My second visit to Basford Hurst . . . and even better than the first!

A beautiful location, with many varied spaces both indoors and outdoors, is only half the story. The real gems are the owners, Leanne and Simon. The warmest welcome really is the icing on the cake.

For my second visit I brought the gorgeous Nicola with me (her first visit) and she was absolutely knocked out both with Basford Hurst and Leanne & Simon. Nothing was too much trouble and Nicola was immediately put at ease and had the most fabulous day.

It was an extraordinarily hot day so we enjoyed the cool of the stunning bathroom as well as the capacious grounds. So much discovered already, but so much more to be explored on subsequent visits.

Both me, and Nicola, can't wait to return. The most fabulous location run by the best hosts. Highly recommended xxx.

I had the pleasure of booking a last minute shoot at this fabulous studio with model friend Claire M.

It is called a Cottage but when you are inside it is such a fabulous place.

I was looking forward to having a shoot here from when I saw images of the inside from when it first opened.

In the 4 hours we were there we only managed to shoot in half the spaces available to shoot in. So definitely need to go back again.

Claire was absolutely made up with there been a free standing bath.

Leanne and Simon were the perfect host.

I can only highly recommended Basford Hurst Cottage as a first class studio with a difference.

Well... what do I say? This place is amazing. There's beautiful wood panelling, lots of rich fabrics and colours. Behind every door, there seemed to be another whole section of house - it's a cottage in name only. And you don't just have to shoot indoors; you can shoot outside the house, or even in the woods.

There's plenty of natural light indoors, but there's also a whole lot of lighting equipment if that's your thing, or if the natural light isn't quite enough, or isn't quite falling exactly in the right place and you need a reflector.

Leanne and Simon were both very welcoming and it was a real pleasure to visit and shoot here.

Very much recommended. Basford Hurst Cottage Studio is somewhere special.

I was thinking to write a long essay to say or explain how superb this studio is, but there is no needed at all, because it is a very beautiful studio with plenty of amazing places to create the beautiful art or atistic photography.

I am very pleased with my work there with Emi and the studio owner Leanne is excellent host.

I truly belive that this place will be on the readar to a lot of people here, which is very good even though it will be harder and harder to book this place again for me :)

I had a pleasure to visit the Basford Hurst Cottage Studio last weekend. We have been welcomed by Leanne who is a lovely, friendly person and a perfect host.

From the moment I entered, I knew this shoot would be special. Every room is unique and feels magical. The natural light was coming in through the windows; it was beautiful.

Leanne took me to the changing room, where a little welcome message was waiting with my name on it. What a lovely little touch! This made me smile straight away. 🙂 The room itself is amazing and so organised. I’ve been very impressed.

During the tour around the Cottage, I knew there would be not enough time to cover every idea I had in my head. So much to choose from! The shoot itself was amazing. I know that the Studio it is a one of the reasons why the pictures are so good. They have a soul, a warm touch and a very unique vibe.

Leanne, thank you and Simon for hosting us. It was a pleasure to meet you and to be able to work in your beautiful Cottage.

I do hope I will be back one day.

Leanne hosted my studio day at Basford cottage and it went amazingly! All photographers left happy and the studio offers so many amazing shoot opportunities! I can’t wait to see some of the images and hope to host another studio day there soon! 100 percent recommend!

Visited Basford for the first time to shoot on the Kate Stardoll studio day. I was greeted in the car park by the lovely Leanne and instantly felt welcomed.

Basford is a really beautiful place set in stunning surroundings and the fact that the sun was shinning just made every room look amazing.

After a brief chat with Leanne I was shown the available shooting areas which are numerous and I got started on the staircase with Kate.

In the two hours I was there I managed to shoot in 8 different areas and was like a fat kid at a cake stall (sorry to wokes for the analogy) moving between areas looking at lighting and possibilities... There are so many!

Had a chance to meet Simon as well who was friendly and chatty in between his day job meetings.

The two of them have really put a lot of effort into the renovations and all is looking positive for the future for them at the "studio".

I was also lucky enough to be introduced to Noodle the corn snake who was more pleased to see Kate the model than she was to see him so we didn't actually get any images with the two of them together, shame! 😔

Overall thoroughly recommend Basford as a place to use available light and test your photography skills throughout the building and outside areas.

Although a bit of a distance from me I really hope to visit again soon and see what else has been completed, I'm sure it will be to the highest standard as is the rest of the house and once Simon has removed the closet from behind the iron steps! 🤣

I attended a Basford Cottage Studio day shooting with Kate Stardoll last week and have to say what a wonderful location the cottage is.

Leanne was lovely and very welcoming and the cottage has so much character and great shooting backdrops to inspire you to some great images.

The weather was great too which afforded the opportunity to shoot using natural light both inside and out for the entire session,

The cottage is also next door to the Nene Valley Railway which was a bonus really as I like heritage railways (unfortunately though nothing was happening that day).

Add to that a nice pub, canal and river walk on the doorstep all made for a very enjoyable day out.

I loved having a photoshoot in Basfordhurst Cottage , that place is literally heaven for both models and photographers, every corner that you find is literally a perfect location.Leanne is also one of the best people,so professional and super friendly and also super available.

Will definitely come back for some other photoshoots.

Wow! What a studio! The minute you drive up, you immediately see how grand this place looks. The shooting opportunities are only limited by your imagination.

Leanne and Simon were extremely inviting and were there to help as much as I needed. I was given a tour around to see all the possibilities for shots, and there are loads!

I would highly recommend Basford Hurst Cottage! Get yourself on a studio day ASAP!
