I had a wonderful couple of days shooting at Basford Hurst. It’s a comfortable and beautiful place to stay and very photogenic and full of possibilities. Leanne is a lovely host and so helpful during pre-comms, helping me get bookings. I really enjoyed my stay there and look forward to the next time. I highly recommend it as a shoot venue.

I had my third shoot today at Basford Hurst Cottage with Leanne.The place is improving all the time as the outdoor space is now complete.The shooting opportunities are endless as there are so many different places to shoot both inside and outside.

I will definitely be shooting there again in the future and I would recommend it 100%.

Had the pleasure of using this studio today with the aim of getting a real feel for the place when I come to use it again in November and it was a good idea. I was able to find what works and what doesn’t and how to achieve the goals I’m aiming for. The studio offers an enormous amount of opportunity and I didn’t even scratch the surface in the 3 hours I was there. So many ideas and a great variety of rooms all naturally well lit and spacious. An absolute must for any photographer at any level.

Having been booked by Michael Morris for his natural light fine art workshop, I finally got to spend not 1 but 2 full days working at Basford Cottage! As soon as I entered it truly met all my expectations, looking just as fabulous and creatively promising as it doe on their socials! It was such a wholesome two days, of course aided by all the company I was surrounded with over the days. But the studio is a fantastic place to create within and as well as Leanne being a fantastic host. I felt very welcome and well looked after and thank Leanne for that v much. I really look forward to coming back next month and also hope to get my own event there on the calendar soon too! Thanks so much once again- see you v soon!!

This time I was modeling for Michael Morris’ natural light fine art workshop. Plenty of natural light inside the building and accessibility to use also the outdoor space.

Leanne is amazing, a wonderful host. She made me feel super comfortable, providing everything for me to feel like at home and taken care of. Thank you!! Highly recommended!

I was lucky enough to attend the Michael Morris Workshop last Sunday at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio. I was once again, wowed by the beautiful location, and all that it has to offer. I was also touched by the warm welcome that I received from Leanne and Si. I was greeted with a smile and a mug of coffee, and we had a good old natter before everyone arrived. During the course of the day, Leanne was on hand to offer drinks, a lovely lunch, and even flowers to use in our image composition for the workshop. I love what those guys are doing up there. They have created a beautiful space where you can create images in a warm, friendly, and relaxed environment. Highly recommended.

I have been to Basford Hurst a few times now and it is always worth the visit.

Lianne was there to welcome me for an afternoon slot with Ashleigh Rae.

As usual, she was both friendly and hospitable welcoming me to her studio.

The venue is forever developing and creating new areas outside the property especially.

For me personally the outside has a magical, natural feel. On the inside, the light on the four sides of the property gives different looks as the day goes by.

Quality models are now regular and it gives artists or photographers of whatever level the chance to experience something different in Staffordshire.

I had the great fortune to participate in a studio day at Basford with the Ashleigh Rae and hosted by the owner Leanne.

I arrived in time for the shoot and the studio was immaculate with acres of room inside and out. Leanne spoke of the additions since my last visit 3 months ago including new lighting options for the photographer.

All this discussed with a welcome coffee. Nothing was too much to ask and it was impossible to do the shoot without treating the studio with the same care and respect as the owners do.

A great location that’s an inspiration to photographer and model and highly recommended.

My first time visiting Basford Hurst Cottage, on arrival Leanne welcomed me and gave me a tour of the shooting areas. The atmosphere is very relaxed and help is on hand should you need it.

So much opportunity at this wonderful venue, on this occasion I shot portraits with Ashleigh Rae mainly with the fantastic ambient light from the large windows.

I would definitely recommend Basford Hurst, and hope to shoot here again in the near future.

Just returned home from my first shoot at the remarkable and wonderful Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location. I was very impressed with the variety and quality of the various locations which were available to shoot from, and indeed we got some elegant images in all locations ranging from the Bridge across the river and the woodlands to the drawing room, dining room, bathroom and even the derelict cellar area which had a fantastic area of natural light. The assistance and hospitality provided by Miss C, was also very welcome. I would love to return to shoot at this studio again for a future shoot and have no hesitation in recommending this venue to other photographers. Thanks to all.

My first visit to Basford Hurst Cottage (for Nicole Rayner's and Sally Sparrow's Stripped Back workshop) but definitely not the last. A bit of a challenge to find but once there it's a stunning venue with plenty of places to shoot both inside and out. Highly recommended!

A first for me at Basford. My satnav did what I was warned it would, and took me behind the cottage where there is no entrance (or mobile signal)! It's a beautiful location, both inside and in the grounds around the main cottage. The outbuilding is intriguing, offering a more grunge look than the upmarket main building. The grounds are varied within a short distance of the buildings. Although I had access to the whole house, I only used three rooms, but these were perfect for what I needed. It would be good to be able to return in the future.

My first visit to this wonderful location. Pre-shoot communication to make the booking was excellent and I received a comprehensive fact sheet prior to the shoot which I found very useful. Leanne is an excellent host and I received a warm welcome and a tour of the venue on arrival. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and has been restored with great love and taste. We were fortunate to have a sunny day and the natural light flooding through the windows was excellent. The venue also includes a number of wooden panelled rooms that are excellent with moody studio lighting which we tried towards the end of our shoot. Very highly recommended and I hope to visit again in the future.

I had the opportunity to have a photoshoot at this amazing photographic studio, our communication was spot on!

When I arrived at had a look around the gardens and the house, I thought to myself where do I start, such an incredible place so many opportunities, beautiful light filtering through the trees, the house itself, is a stunning work of art, you could spend a couple of days there, and you wouldn’t have shot, everywhere, every time I looked around oh wow there’s another area we can shoot in!

Will I be back next time I am back in England yes I will, and I look forward to be going out for dinner with the lovely owners of this place, I wish you well for the future!
