References for Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

You can see from the images what a great location this is to shoot, but it's not until you start Leanne's tour, do you really get to appreciate how amazing this place really is! And the bonus, coffee as soon as I arrived!

I had so much planned but was quite overwhelmed with some of the rooms, so most of my half day booking was spent shooting art nude both inside and outside the property, with so much to offer.

There is plenty of natural light, even when it was overcast I only felt the need to use lights for specific shots. Quite simply, the cottage has everything, but being in a private location with no one around just made for an ever better experience.

I will not only recommend Basford as a must place to shoot, but I have already booked it for a whole day in October.

I want to add my voice to the chorus of photographers and models singing the praise of this new diamond of a studio that has emerged recently in the midlands.

I worked at Basford Hurst over two days with the beautiful model owner Miss_C and cannot speak highly enough of the creative shooting opportunities this important new facility offers.

Brilliantly run by Leanne (Miss_C) the studio presents a miriad of indoor and outdoor sets from boudoir to urbex to naturist, all within private secluded grounds. As if that weren't enough, many of the top models on the PP register are based just a few miles from the studio doors.

This location has already achieved premier league status and things will only get better, mark my words. Their calender is busy so book soon!

I had my first shoot at BHC where I worked with Cariad Cells for a couple of hours. I wanted to have a look at the location after hearing good things about it.

This an extremely versatile location - indoors and out doors with plenty of opportunity to use natural light or studio flash. Leanne was very welcoming and provided drinks on arrival and was on hand for anything else you needed.

I think I just had my 4th shoot at Basford Hurst and this time a full solo studio day :) I was lucky to book this date in shortly after they opened and I am so glad I did, this is by far one of my favourite places to shoot and as you can see from their calendar it is sought after too!

Leanne and Simon whom live in this magical place are the most wonderful hosts, I and many others can’t thank them enough for opening up their home for us all to enjoy and use as a studio come private woodland space.

The Cottage has an abundance of opportunities both indoors and outdoors and with the natural light cascading around the property a full days shoot here is easily done. You can create new and exciting images in the same place at different times of day depending on the light.

I am looking forward to returning again in a week for an event with Sally Sparrow and Nicole Rayner :)

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

3rd visit to this studio so it must be a great place to shoot from. I shot with Cariad and we used lots of different sets/backdrops. When I'm shooting one set it's very difficult to plan the next as there's so much choice! We used the outdoor area mostly, my first time at shooting outdoors at Basford but I found it to be fabulous. Many thanks Leanne for welcoming me into your home again.

This was my second visit Basford Hurst this time for a studio day with the wonderful Jessica Wall and Katey Model. The venue as always was perfect with Leanne on hand to help and provide refreshments. The models were excellent working together like they were old friends(this was the first time they had met !!) we created some amazing images around Basford Hurst and the choice of outfits the models wore complemented the surrounds. 100% recommended

I cannot express how wonderfuil this venue is. So many options in one place. Leanne and Simon are perfect hosts too.

The results from shoots here speak for themselves. We created some real magic images from my shoot with Heather. We will definitely be back to work her again. Thank you for giving creatives the opportiunity to work here.

10th August 2023: Shoot arranged at very short notice following cancellation of another booking at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio, of which Miss_C is owner. Pre-shoot communications fast and concise. Miss_C as studio owner was very knowledgeable about the best places to shoot around the extensive location.

I have shot at Basford before, and had a mental list of places to shoot around the property this time, trying to achieve 'the full set', but ran out of time ! No hesitation in giving a Very Highly Recommended rating, and no doubt in my mind that I will be back again, in fact I have just booked a charity shoot here on Sunday 3rd September 2023 and look forward to shooting in other locations around the property to achieve 'the full set' !

Absolutely stunning location, ridiculous amount of potential for all types of shoots and variation, leanne was extremely welcoming, personalised touches made it feel very special, everything from hair ties, tampons, towels, snacks, drinks hair clips, make up remover, hair dryers are all things that make you feel that your presence is really wanted and appreciated.

I can not recommend enough! Basford hurst is an absolute must. I was blown away, and the lighting is just beautiful very little help needed on that front the entire place just makes modelling so easy! Thankyou for allowing people to come and create stunning images in this beautiful building 👏👏👏

I can't believe that it was April when I last saw this beautiful location on their open day. Yesterday I had the opportunity to work there myself with the resident model, Miss_C. Pre-shoot communications were excellent, and Leanne welcomed me on arrival with a lovely cup of coffee. We had chance for another look around and outfit selection before we started shooting. All the rooms that we were shooting in were immaculate, and Leanne was happy for me to move things around at will.

Natural light is my passion, and I was wowed by the floor to ceiling windows on the ground floor. All the rooms are wonderful sets to shoot in, and I only covered a fraction of the opportunities there in my mornings shoot, so plenty to go back for! I had chosen to work with natural light, but I should mention that there is a fully equipped studio there as well.

A lovely space that I fully recommend to both photographers and models alike. Thank-you Leanne and Si for you kind hospitality.

My first opportunity to shoot at this amazing venue. There are a mulitude of rooms and sets to work with. All testimony to another of Leanne's talents, interior design! The effort that she has put into all the rooms is phenomenal. She has created a beautiful location to work in. A well equipped studio and lots of ambient light. I hope that its not too long before I'm back. Thank-you Leanne and Simon.

Organised Chaos

I had my 1st of MANY visits to this absolutely knock out location yesterday & I recommend you visit this place & book one of the studio owners Miss_C to have as a model (again 1st ahoot of many with Leanne yesterday which there is a reference for on her model page on here) why to book this multi faceted excellent place to book.

Leanne & Simon have made finding this studio really easy as it's on Google Maps so you will find it so easy.

The house dates back to 1889 & as such has lots of windows, wooden floors an exquisite bathroom there is just so much in this house & it is down to the passionate ownership of Leanne & Simon.

The studio has so many events coming up & I cant wait to visit again & again.

This studio has an abundance of lighting & so much to offer as it has the best centre which is Leanne & Simon.

Thankyou for an excellent time & look forward to returning soon this time with samosas, cakes , cookies.

I had my first shoot at this wonderful photography location last month... I was filling in for a cancellation and am so glad I finally got the chance to explore a little bit of this stunning place!

Leanne & Simon where absolutely fabulous hosts, nothing was too much trouble and upon arrival Leanne gave us a tour of the place and all it has to offer.

And wow was a beautiful location, full of character and stunning areas to create amazing images!...

It's both a photographer & models dream playground!...

The efforts they have gone to in restoring and renovating are second to none!

I was made to feel super comfortable throughout my time there, fluffy dressing gowns, hot drinks my own gorgeous changing room, what more can a model need!...

I'm glad to see that the location is super popular and doing well as the place and it's fabulous owners deserve it!

Highly recommended to both models and photographers who want to shoot somewhere both stunning, but welcomming!

It is always difficult to add to a place where all the references before say so much.

This is though one of the most superb locations I have ever shoot at.

Everything is so professional from the communications with such detail in the location etc to the way in which Leanne arranges and organises shoots etc.

One shoot is not enough to appreciate the sheer depth of the space and the imagination does wander when shooting to what you could shoot next to where.

A throughly enjoyable first shoot and two more booked in.

I had my first studio day at Basford and it was absolutely perfectly amazing!

Communication with Leanne around the organisation was excellent. She was very helpful, full of good advices and she managed to fully book my studio day. The day flew very fast and the photographers who attended were all really lovely and nice.

About the venue, it is absolutely beautiful. It's bigger that what I though and there were so many different and amazing spaces to shoot in. The changing room was very cosy and Leanne made sure that I was feeling like home.

I have already planned 2 future shoots at the cottage and I just can't wait to come back!

Got to shoot at this amazing location, for a charity shoot

Was such a great day and the host miss_c was so amazing, and I actually got to shoot with her which was great, would definitely recommend to any photographers or models.

I first saw Basford house when the open days were being promoted, I couldn't make it along to those so thought I need to get booked in for a shoot myself. Easy and efficient to get booked in and loads of info was shared as I discussed my shoot plans.

The hosts are brilliant, very welcoming and on hand for help and advice if you need it.

The location is amazing, loads of opportunities to shoot with a great range of spaces that suit natural light shoots or artificial light in equal measure. there is a range of improvements going on so there should be even more to do there, I spent all day shooting and only scratched the surface of what could be done.

Very highly recommended :-)

Wow, yesterday was my first shoot at the cottage with the lovely Erica Mulkern.

I had met the owners previously and they are both lovely.

The house is stunning with so many opportunities. A new patio area is nearing completion.

Nothing is too much trouble for Leanne and everything is so well organised with drinks flowing freely and a ready supply of Kit Kats.

The place is awesome and I can't wait to the next time I'm there.

I have just got back from the most amazing 2 studio days at Basford Hurst and... wow!

Where to start?!

I stayed overnight at Basford and the room was cleaner than 5* hotels! So cosy and beautiful.

The changing room is warm and spacious and everything is thought about- from custom BHC robes to makeup remover to biscuits etc.

The venue is to die for! There are SO many rooms to choose from and plenty of lighting options too- giving everyone exactly what they want.

Leanne was on hand all the time throughout my 2 days and was nothing but a sweetheart (and the days are very long!). She was so helpful and always put my comfort first, which means a huge amount to me.

Simon was lovely and I really enjoyed his company too!

Overall, Basford is just as beautiful as the pictures (maybe more so?) and Leanne and Simon are absolute super stars.

I cannot recommend this place enough and I am already plotting some future events!

I attended a photoshoot event organised by Leanne in her stunning location. The communication before the shoot and the instruction were very clear and with lots of attention. The space is just breathtaking and it was worthwhile travelling from London for a day. The admin was perfect as well as the coordination between the photographers. I will definitely come back! Also looking forward to the new areas as there is a great piece of work being done to the garden, the pond and additional shooting space!
