Jan booked me on my tour to the Netherlands and I am ever so glad he did :-) my partner and I got a train to his studio where he picked us up and dropped us off at the station, he was super friendly, calm and professional, with lots of interesting things to talk about. Jan provided us with lunch and refreshments and we spent 4 hours shooting various sets in his fabulous very well equipped studio. It was such a lovely day on top of his wonderful professionalism. I love so many of the results. Thanks so much Jan. Hope to shoot again! Highly recommended :-D

Great shoot with Jan in his studio, he has so many props and outfits to choose from we managed to do a lot of different sets in the time he had booked. He was very friendly and we got on well. He was very precise about poses and lighting he wanted which made everything very easy. I would highly recommend :)

What a photographer!!! Literally, if you come to the Netherlands on a tour/or you’re a local model in touch with Jan about a shoot - snap his hand off! He’s simply brilliant! :D Read further praise below... But if you don’t want to read my essay: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jan to the planets and back!

So I found myself visiting the Netherlands again for just a national tour this time... In the past and even to-date I often cover multiple countries in a bigger European tour but this time it was nice because I could spend more time working with creatives locally. :) And I was so happy when Jan confirmed his availability for a shoot during my tour because when we’ve shot in the past it really has been out of this world! But not only did we have a smashing time making pictures: Jan was an exceptional host for this part of my trip and really looked after me as well which makes a huge level of difference when you’re *on the road* and it’s all *go, go, go!* I cannot stress how appreciative I am of all the kindness, courtesy and awesome vibes that he gave: and not only in this shoot but all our past shoots as well! :D

Now Jan is a phenomenal photographer... But you’ve probably already seen his exceptional portfolio of work before you read this, so you probably already know this! :P But he really is! He has a supreme eye for an image: both technically with lighting and set-building, and with creative imagination too. He’s got it all basically! Because he works from his own studio he has everything there at the drop-of-a-hat is he needs; good lighting and props alike... He knows very much what he is looking for in a picture so it doesn’t even matter if you’re an inexperienced model coming to work with Jan because he can offer superb directions if needed - but on the same subject he welcomes the experienced/professional model to do their thing and express themselves in the scene too! :) I would be here all day listing the magical ideas that we covered: mythical, story-telling, simple/classic art, portraits... Oh the list goes on forever and the quality of what Jan was producing was absolutely constant from start to finish. I cannot give enough credit to the sheer amount of effort and passion that Jan puts into his photography. He has such a buzz for it and it rubs off on you very much so... But seriously! At one stage he was moving a huge vintage door that he’d brought all the way from France into the set! Then we worked with specific styling with my look and different props to create an emotive atmosphere in-camera. He has such a talent for it: from the initial taking the photos right through to the edits. I always look forward to seeing what Jan has put up when I get a notification to say he’s tagged me in an image from our shoots! :D

And of course we always have good fun working together as well... We literally never stop talking, I’m sure you can hear the laughter from the other side of the building and, in all honesty, it’s almost like a catch up with a pal! A safe, joyous and totally energetic (in the creative sense) working environment. Jan is such a lovely gentleman right through to the core, there literally isn’t a bad bone in his body. :) So fellow models: you definitely have my assurance that you will enjoy your shoot with Jan as well as live the pictures he produces too!

Reiterating what I said earlier: a wonderful host who delivers the best in good hospitality with a safe and private space for the models. Jan made me up some delicious food and it was just jolly nice getting a proper “human” catch up during my exceptionally hectic tour. Of course whilst we were shooting also; there are snacks and refreshments always there for energy boosts during the working day.

I have nothing but; praise, praise, praise for Jan! :D Thank you soooooo much for everything! And I really hope to come and shoot again soon!

Jan was an absolute delight and pleasure to work with.

He booked me together with fellow photographer Michel and we shot at his studio in Vianen.

They both made a really big effort making sure I'd feel comfortable and safe and I had a lot of fun!

Jan is a genuinely kind and sweet person, a true gentleman I would say. He does everything to get that one perfect shot and communicates very well what he wants to see. His encouragement made me really enthusiastic too.

The studio is great as well, he has all the props you could ever want, a designated private space for the model to get ready and change outfits or freshen up as well as a comfy corner for taking breaks and having a tea.

I could go on and on, needless to say this was a great experience and I will 100% recommend them to anyone and everyone. Just really really nice people!

Not to mention that John Herm has a great studio and lots of wonderful wardrobe pieces. Ow my gosh!! I have to say too, his new fully equipped studio is immaculate and full of treasures! It is model heaven! soo many stunning props and pretty clothes and accessories all organised and easy to get inspired.

Jan was well organised with the first lighting set up ready to shoot and an array of concepts to work through, we made the most of our time and had a real laugh whilst at it :)

I hope I get another chance to work with this true gent again on my next visit, I honestly would highly recommended working with him.

It was nice working with Jan, he is a real photography enthousiast, which you can see in his pictures! Also, he gave me feedback on my posing but also showed his appreciation. Next to that, he makes use of a large studio with plenty of available clothes and accessoires. I am happy with the pictures that I received soon after the shoot and it would be nice to work again :).

Studio aside Jan is an wonderful person and very talented photographer!! He really knows his lighting and is full of unique ideas. He has the "let's give it a go and see if it works" attitude when shooting which I really love. Jan is 100% respectful, fun to work with and determined to make the shoot a creative collaboration between model and photographer. My second shoot with Jan recently! Excellent communications, very friendly yet professional photographer. The highlight of working with Jan is without doubt his studio: (He has recently moved to a larger unit) I enjoy working in nice spaces like this, well organised, clean and with troves of inspiring pieces adorning the rails and walls! He had some particularly lovely old glass doors which were a real treat to work with. Gave regular breaks, helped with lifts to and from the station, can't fault him. Top guy. Great to work with and would do so again in a heartbeat, have already seen a few edits released which look fantastic. Highly recommended!

I cannot express how much I enjoyed this shoot, and will be one I remember for a very long time.

Jan is most accommodating with a fantastic studio - every models dream. (Not to mention the Stroopwafels)
