He is very fun to work with and had some really creative ideas. I enjoyed our shoot very much and sincerely hope I have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.

I worked with John during my modelling tour to The Netherlands. He was very kind and welcoming. He made sure the studio was warm enough for me and that I was comfortable. We had tea breaks to keep us motivated and managed to shoot loads of different ideas.

John was lovely to work with, very respectful and creative. I loved the pictures we created together, I would definitely love to work with him again when l come back to The Netherlands :)

I worked with John today for the first time and I had wonderful day.John is a professional photographer and real gentleman. He treats models with respect and creates comfortable atmosphere. Although we had 4 hours long photoshoot, it passed very fast and after shoot we started coming with more and more ideas for photos. I am in Netherlands for second time so I don't know this country very well and John took care for my travel so I was safe and could travel without troubles.

We made together beautiful art and I'd love to work with him again.

John is an amazing photographer, it's hard to find words to describe how wonderful my experience with him was. He's a perfect gentleman, so kind and respectful. And he is a perfectionist with light arrangements, he apologized a lot for stopping constantly to improve, rearrange a flash here and there, but I told him, there is no need to apologize, it is this attention to detail that he has that makes his work superb. He is a master in his craft and I feel like I learned a lot from him in the few hours we worked together.

He also has an impressive collection of outfits, costumes, and props, my god, I normally find studio work a bit boring, but I was absolutely entertained with how dynamic this shoot was, with so many different things for us to try out. I had so much fun!

I would love to collaborate with him again in the future, and I obviously recommend him to everyone who wants to make good art.

I recently had the absolute pleasure of working with Jan during my debut tour of the Netherlands!

Jan's Pre communication was excellent, inviting me to model for them was an honour. Our arrangements were made well in advance and his messages were very detailed and had great personality.

When the day of the shoot finally came Jan was considerate enough to collect me from the station, as well as ensure I had everything I needed in my beautiful private dressing room and was comfortable.

Jan was very careful about my well being throughout the shoot and we got on extremely well and chatted alot too !!

Jan is nothing less than a perfectionist and takes time preparing a shot and takes a great deal of pride in their work.

Completely professional and confident.

I would highly recommend John Herm photography and CANNOT WAIT to join forces when I return again soon!

Oh John, what can I say? I have gained not just fabulous images, but a new friend!

We just couldn't stop talking all shoot, what an interesting man, with great knowledge of the world, it was highly entertaining and time flew by!

Pre comms were brilliant, I knew exactly what we were looking for when it came to the shoot. I was looked after well and John also has a fantastic set up for wardrobe & make up, loved it.

We tried a number of different looks. I really appreciated John's direct communication for what he was looking for with a certain shot, really helped.

Loving all the shots that John has already edited (quick worker - this is great) and can't wait to see more.

Highly recommend! and I shall be back for sure :)

It was so lovely to get my second shoot in with this awesome chap! :D Our initial shoot together last year just rocked with so much inspiration and creative enjoyment - John is a real pleasure to work with because of how evidently enthused he is by photography and the degree of passion and care he puts into producing lovely photographs really does sparkle. Of course nothing was different this time: except for the fact that we managed to snatch some lovely pictures in the upstairs of the building this time which we narrowly ran out of time for before... But the degree of fabulousness was still totally alive and kicking to create some superb quality photos. :) What a shoot!

Just as before, John had an insanely gorgeous collection of wonderful garments for me to try for the shots. Literally, even just as a stylist he's got an excellent eye for what works photographically and in fact he has a whole selection of delightful numbers in the changing area which he's collected for models to use when they visit. We had to actively make a point of opening my suitcase because of course every model that comes to shoot with John is most likely all over his collections whereas he will have the opportunity to shoot it again and again. The greatest Aladdin's cave ever! Similarly, I didn't even need to get out my selection of funny herbal teas for the breaks because of course John has his own selection of amazing teas including loose Jasmine - that's me sorted! :P

As one idea develops into the next/you switch styles around John just effortlessly operates his lights to make stunning effects and subsequently; lush photographs. He knows exactly how to light and image relative to the mood/concept he has in his head for it and is also good with direction is he's got something very specific he wants to capture. It goes without saying that he's a terrific photographer with an eye for magic moments... I was loving going through the back of the camera in the breaks to which john kindly let me do my back-of-camera snaps which is quite hard to resist when all the images literally do look so striking in the back of the camera. The edits after the shoot in the full glory are then always so exciting to see and bring back that buzz for sure. :) John will always strive for the very best out of a set and puts his heart into it. Genuine artistic interest in so many genres and he certainly brings this out in the model when he's shooting.

The same laughs, the same chilled/relaxed pace and chatter in-between shoots. Johns a total gentleman who respects the models very highly from the moment the shoot begins... Beforehand in the pre-shoot communications and beyond. I always feel so at ease working with John as he has such a warm character, is always cheerful and shows a lot of high value for the people that he works with. The second shoot was a complete blast, and I am most certainly sure that it will not be the last! :D To other models in the area or touring nearby: you can bet for sure that you'd have a fab time shooting with John. He is certainly someone that I recommend extremely high. It goes without saying.

I shot with Jan last week during my tour of the Netherlands, and I had a brilliant time!

Jan was so kind to pick me up at the station and return me there when the shoot was over. We clicked straight away because of our love for plants and art, so conversation was great throughout the shoot.

Jan has lots of creative ideas, a room full of costumes and props to play with and he's an absolute gentleman.

I had a fantastic time and can't wait to shoot with him again on my next tour!

I had a lovely shoot with Jan while I was in Holland this month! He met me at the station and returned me there afterwards; he was completely polite and respectful towards me while I modelled to nude levels and I always felt safe. The results of the shoot are beautiful I’m very glad to have had the opportunity to work with him! The studio was brilliant, clean and organised and he had lots of nice things to model.

I had a wonderful shoot with Jan on my recent trip to the Netherlands. We shot a mixture of portraiture, boudoir, steampunk and fashion, in both the studio and using natural light

Jan is wonderful to work with, has a wide variety of well thought out ideas and the images on the back of the camera looked great! I would highly recommend shooting with Jan, it was a lovely afternoon and we got some great images! And also very good coffee and biscuits!

Fantastic shoot with John during my recent trip to the Netherlands. I travelled to his studio in Houten to shoot a mixture of studio and natural light portraits, art nude and some more creative ideas. John's pre communication was excellent. He was super friendly and really easy to work and get along with. Letting me pose freely but also giving direction when required. I Really loved the lighting and images I saw back of camera. Would definately 100% recommend him to anyone travelling to the Netherlands :)
