Third shoot with Jim , and it never gets boring . Jim always comes along with new props and new ideas .

Its always wonderful to see Jims reactions whilst shooting because he just gets a spark moment and you can see how excited and inspired he is by the photographers . To Jim its not just a digital photograph its art work , and you can see his mind is always ticking thinking what he will be able to create from this . If Jim ever creates some of our photographs into a painting I would be very excited to see and I know he would put his heart into it . Seeing how happy Jim is with the work we create makes me happy as I know im doing something worth while to make my client happy .

As always Jim is a delight to be around and there is never a dull moment . He was even kind enough to drop me off at the station which was out of his way.

Twinkle Nose (Hannah Aisling)

Jim has been a firm fan of mine from the very beginning so it was my absolute pleasure to finally shoot with him! We met briefly at a charity event at Pozers Studio and I knew straight away I wanted to work with him again, his artistic flair and fantastically eccentric personality was a good match for me!

We decided to shoot from my flat and Jim travelled over 2 hours to get here. Well, I was not disappointed! A completely different shoot to what I have shot before and back of camera looked great! I could have spent the entire time just chatting to him, such a fascinating character and excellent communication. I would highly reccomened Take in the Alps and know I will be working with him again soon!

Another wonderful shoot with Jim , the man who has it all .

Jim never ceases to amaze me with what he pulls out from his briefcases and car , this time a bloody wardrobe . Now thats a first even for me !!! Jim has a creative mind ,after my own heart , with his wacky sets and well put together outfits . I think this why we get on so well . He is also very fascinating and I love hearing all his stories its always such a laugh . This is a man of many talents and im sure he will keep on surprising me ....

After hitting it off on our first shoot in Weston-Super-Mare, Jim kindly hooked me again at Pozers Studio.

I absolutely love shooting with Jim and all of his weird wonderful, quirky and fabulous ideas and how we smoothly transition from one bonkers idea into the next.

Jim is really an amazing, knowledgeable guy and is an absolute pleasure to be around & I can not wait until we are shooting together again!

Sometimes references seem too formal and when you connect with someone, who comes into your life, in a professional manner, but ends up becoming a wonderful friend, who makes me laugh, who get's me, and I get him, and our creative thought's run parallel, and everyone else think's we're crazy creatives, that's because we are, but that's a compliment, I wouldn't have it any other way. Jim is not only a stunningly creative photographer, and a extremely talented and phenomenal artist, musician, he's a great art therapist professionally, and takes me to a different place when life is rough, and always, always makes me laugh, no matter how tough life is, Jim's always got the most amazing advice. How lucky am I to have met this amazing man ???? Beyond belief, trust me, and if you get the chance to play even the tiniest part in Jim's photographic or artistic journey, then do this, you never know, you might strike gold, like I did, and make a fabulous friend and camera companion like me, someone who takes all your fault's and make them right, he's the most wonderful human being and friend, anyone could possibly imagine. Jim very kindly booked a place on my Photographic Expedition to Iceland with a team of 5 other Photographers/Videographers and the amazing Pippa Doll!

I had initially met Jim at a photography workshop a short while ago and immediately fell in love with his MAD, quirky self! I was SO happy when he said he would like to sign up for the trip- as he is utterly hilarious!!! He is my spirit animal! Jim complimented the groups crazy personality dynamics with his stories, charm, wit and general eccentricities and humour, which often had me in stitches!

I knew we were in for a FUN trip when he arrived at my home armed with a selection of dresses which he then managed to tempt one (*cough*) member of the team to try on before we had even left for Iceland (laughing as I am typing this, it was truly funny!) Joking aside, the dresses were a fantastic addition to the trip and I really love Jims styling!

Aside from this Jim is an extremely kind, professional gentleman and an amazing creative talent to add to the team! I absolutely loved the paintings Jim produced of me from past shoots and I can't wait to see the artwork he produces from this trip! It was amazing having an artist on board!!

He is such a team player, fantastic company and was very well liked by the whole group. We were so lucky to have such an amazing group of people who really connected with one another and had FUN during the process! :) I will really cherish the memories from the trip and loved it so much that I am doing it all over again in 2019! The results from the trip were STUNNING and I can't wait to see the future edits!

I consider Jim (AKA Willy Wonka to me) a firm friend now and hope we always work together. He is pure joy haha!!!!

Wow. I honestly think I have platonically fallen in love with Jim on this Iceland trip!

I have shot with Jim before, but spending a few days with him in Iceland on Helen Diaz's organised trip I really felt like I got to know him and the positive, humorous, philosophical artist that he is!

Jim was a great member of the team, he is just who he is! He challenges my mind to see things differently - which as a model it can be very easy to get stuck in a rut and so to have someone spark a new realm of creativity and thinking is truly beautiful.

Everybody on the trip truly valued Jim and his quirky sense of humour, he is a truly loveable character and I think we would all love a weekly 'Jim documentary' :p haha

As a photographer Jim has a brilliant eye for things, he'll shoot through curtains and give a beautiful milky ethereal effect - which I love!

His brain is like a never ending spider diagram of ideas and concepts, which reunited my love for creating great things. Jims enthusiasm inspires all, and he is valuable gem in the community.

Had a wonderful home shoot with Jim , it was a delightful first shoot . I had heard lots about Jim before shooting and he exceeded my expectations . Jim was lovely , a great person to chat too and someone I seemed to click with almost instantly and not to mention that he has a snazzy sense of style .

Jim had brought a selection of beautiful clothing and accessories with him , so much so I didn't touch my stuff at all . Jim has a clear creative vision and can see a picture in his mind. He took to one space in the house but utilised it will and we shot a whole wide variety of sets . I love working with someone so enthusastic , passionate , and creative as myself .

Our four ours flew by , im super excited to see the images rolling in .

Well, well, well, where do I start?

I had the utter pleasure of working with Jim on my tour of Weston-Super-Mare & what fun it was.

I was absolutely amazed at what clothing Jim had brought for me to wear, not forgetting his fabulous collection of jewellery and hats.

Jim was an absolute gentleman & my welfare was a priority even when we encountered a very rude member of the public when shooting on the beach but this did not dampen the day.

We then headed over to the Old Pier where we did the most fantastic of sets, was totally brilliant and I felt like a movie star. We even managed to stop Murphy the Basset Hound for a few photographs which absolutely made my day.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the results, really looking forward to working with Jim again.

I had the opportunity to meet Jim last week during my trip to Bath and it was a lovely experience. Jim is certainly an artist with loads of creativity and imagination. He mostly used the pictures he takes for his painting and I was absolutely speechless! They are amazing and probably one of the best paintings I've seen so far. I could stay hours in front of the last one he's done. Regarding the pre-shoot communication, it was on spot! Everything was well detailed. Jim arrived with loads and loads of props and outfits he wanted to use for his project. He's such a nice guy, easy to work with, fun and relax. Highly recommended!

Jim what a guy.

Jim and I had an absolutely fantastic shoot on Tuesday. We had the awesome opportunity to shoot in a beautiful flat in the centre of Edinburgh with an amazing stairwell. I spent the morning rolling around on the stairs and playing in the flowers that draped the banisters.

The shots we got are beyond awesome and I cannot wait to get my hands on them!!

Jim is a total gentleman, super chatty and has a very creative eye! This was a very exiting shoot. I cant wait to work with Jim again!

100% totally recommend.

Jim is absolutely awesome!

He arrived with a bag full of enough clothes to open his own clothing shop, with top brands too. I think he knew more about fashion than I did!

We started with using some natural light, using reflections.

We moved onto using natural light outside and finished with some fine art indoors.

Jim is one of the coolest photographers I've met, we talked about almost every interesting topic throughout the shoots and in lots of laughter throughout.

His positivity and creativity is infectious and he is a super interesting person to get to know, full of so many ideas and insights.

He's the sort of person you feel like you've known for years!

I wholeheartedly enjoyed our shoot and would highly recommend him to any model.

I'm already excited for our next shoot.

I shot with Jim for the first time this week, his model drop out of his planned shoot last minute and I was able to step in just in time :)

Jim is simply a lovely person who made me feel at east straight away.

He is poetic, creative, happy,fun and great company...this all just pours off him in a professional manner.

Jim is an amazing artist and now developing his photography...all round true creative. We got some stunning images from the shoot and I am looking forward to seeing the end results of the painting Jim will create from some on the images.

If your one of those people, who like to get to know someone through their port, their bio, references and images, then by now, you will have worked it out, that Jim and I have worked many times together now, and that our references to each other, (come to my page and read Jim's to me) are like university dissertations for your beloved BA or PHD. Being artists and creatives, it was inevitable that Jim and I would become friends from the off, what I didn't realise, was how this beautiful friendship, would evolve over the last year, into a 2 person untouchable team when we work together. This is not describing us, as the best two people on PurplePort, this would be arrogant,neither of us are natured in this way, I am simply describing our unity as friends, creatives, artists, fun lovers, go-getters, photographers and story tellers. Like myself, Jim creates a brief for each shoot, building a narrative for the images, to reflect we often meet beforehand and discuss the theme of the shoot, lighting plans, sets, clothing,models etc. We always start with the model he chose (unless like this time, we had a no show... naughty naughty, but the fact she didn't turn up, turned into a positive, because we got to work with the stunning Carla Monaco instead, who very kindly fitted us into her very busy schedule), but do we stick with the brief ? Probably not...we start the shoot with every intention, to be anal about our well thought out plans, but with creatives, we fall in love with the moment, and if something is working, why destroy it, go with the flow, let the art lead you through your journey, this method results in much better images, than clock watching, timings, it ruins the moment, takes away the fun in the creative flow and makes the model feel like the entire shoot is industrialised, like shopping on a conveyor belt, going past the till, into the bags, and on it's way home. Photography isn't about that, it's about embracing a moment in time, capturing and encasing that moment, creating an image, of a beautiful person, treasuring that memory forever... the final image of that shoot, is the end of an adventure, but the beginning of a new one, because photography is an ever evolving experience and you will never ever, take your last picture.. you are only as good as your next image, and the next part of your journey. Jim brings such positive energy to everything he does, he's not the kind of photographer that shoots for shootings sake, he shoots to create art and shoots from his inner soul. I have seen several of Jim's beautiful oil paintings, created from images shot in my studio, and to see the larger than life paintings, created from this wonderful gentleman, is truly inspiring beyond belief, the work that goes into these pictures is immense, months and months of work, layers upon layers of oils, years and years of incredible talent, decades of experience, knowledge and learning, and each and everyone, came from an image, created in the click of the shutter, in my studio, it makes me feel so humble, to be a part of the "Bigger Picture" (excuse the pun). If your going to work with Jim, be honoured, because his commitment to working with you, is way beyond just booking a shoot, and taking a few images that go now where, your literally have the potential of being a work of art, a second of your life will be captured in an image, at no other point in your life, will you be that person, ever again, that moment has been and gone, a part of your history, captured for eternity, and lovingly recreated by a true artist, who will reach into your soul and create something of true beauty, beyond belief.I literally love having artists at the studio, for me photography is an art already, so the fact that the images are going to be a tool, to create something more than a digital representation of time, is a true honour, to be part of this amazing journey. With Jim, becoming friends, connecting artistically, seeing the same visual potential, from one shoot to the next, is like being part of something, so much bigger than photography, it's like becoming part of another universe, where worlds collide, and something new and wonderful evolves, from something so simple, as 1 beautiful image. So if you want to be part of this magical journey, work with Jim, if I was a model (ha ha) I would be truly honoured to be painted, by this wonderful, talented, creative, human being, it would be an absolute honour to become a piece of his art. Today was hopefully my first of many shoots with Jim and what an absolute pleasure it was.

Precoms prior where spot on! Jim made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed straight away.

We had such a fantastic time, he's is brilliant to work with. We had such a laugh atvthe same time as getting some fantastic shots!
