Another INCREDIBLE studio day at Art Asylum Reloaded, where I booked Antonia Jay for 2 hours. The studio is so well equipped and Steve is a fantastic owner, who goes out of his way to help you get the shot you want. Plenty of tea/coffee and a chilled atmosphere with lots of great areas to shoot in. I always have a brilliant time there and will contiunue to book!

I shoot at the fantastic Art Asylum Reloaded a lot! I had booked on a group shoot studio day with Space Vixen. I normally find group shoots difficult but this was fantastic. The effort that had gone into arranging the lighting and sets was absolutely top notch. Steve was, as always, an absolute diamond adjusting lighting, helping with props etc. I also enjoy having a good natter with Steve over a cuppa... he even went to the shops to get some green tea for me! It was an exceptionally productive and wildly fun day! I always come away from a session at the studio buzzing with creativity and was especially excited to see some of the new themed setup areas. Art Asylum Reloaded is a fantastic studio and it's always a pleasure to work with Steve. Highly recommend this super duper studio!

First ever visit to Art Asylum for a half day booking after a long hiatus from shooting. Steve is very welcoming and the studio was perfect for what I needed. Really well equipped with a cracking boudoir set and as much lighting as you’d ever need. Steve also drinks nearly as much coffee as me so the drinks were free flowing.

Highly recommended and I’ll certainly be using the facilities there again soon. Thanks.

Another succesful shoot at Art Asylum Reloaded. Steve was very welcoming again, kept the coffee and biscuits flowing and made sure we had everything we needed and then left us to it. The light in the boudoir set is stunning at this time of year and the studio end is well equipped with everything you'd want for a successful shoot. Happy to recommend and I'm sure I'll be back again soon.

I had a great studio day at art asylum. Steve was extreamly kind and catered for my every need. The day ran like clockwork and its such an amazing studio with lots of different options in terms of styling. There is a fabulous Boudoir type room which has the most amazing natural light in the mornings and then it also has a really good sized changing room and a studio from which an infinity curve and option of different backdrops. It is also right on the sea front and offers a potential for some amazing street and beach type photography as well - i think this place is a little gem and models i urge you to book here as there is so much variety and options.

Steve thank you so much for a fab day - and a yummy subway sandwich which was so so kind of you - AA comes highly recommended by me.

Had a really lovely studio weekend at Art Asylum, and can't wait to come back! Steve was the perfect host, really accommodating and looked after me well, supplying me with food and drink and making sure I wasn't too cold. He also was on hand to help out with the lighting when needed, but also made sure to give the photographers and myself privacy when shooting.

The studio is really lovely, with great sets and is well located.

Highly recommend!

I attended a photography workshop held at the studio which was aimed at beginner photographers wanting to get to know how basic studio lighting works.

Although I attended as one of the models, I found the course very informative, having started doing my own photography.

Both tutors (Steve & Mike) were extremely knowledgeable on their chosen topics. The course ran smoothly and there was plenty of time to put theory into practice and to try out the different lightning techniques.

I'd highly recommend this course for anyone who is wanting to dip their toes into studio based photography.

Can't wait for the next course, I'll be signing up as a tog, even if I don't model there myself😉

A really useful introduction to studio photography. Steve and Mike presented in a relaxed manner that rubbed-off nicely on the participants and the two models, Mel and Sophie, who were both very helpful and, most importantly, patient! Everyone was friendly and at ease with each other. The coffee is free and flowed as required!

Steve gave us the low down on facilities available at Art Asylum, the shooting areas and sets, including a natural light studio and an infinity wall studio, and explained the various types of lights and modifiers, camera settings etc.

Mike covered the do's and don'ts of working with models, pre-communications with the model, creating storyboards and agreeing the details of the shoot with the studio and the model - all to ensure you go away with the results you were hoping for and everyone happy.

After the lunch break (bring your own) Steve demonstrated portrait set-ups, showing results and encouraging us to take some shots ourselves.

Mike then covered key and fill lighting, background lighting and the associated set-ups and. again, we had the opportunity to try these for ourselves. All you need for this course is a camera with a hot shoe - everything else is provided by the studio! I came away feeling far more confident about studio work - it was a day well spent!

I had my first shoot at the Art Asylum studio the other day, and it was such a cool and unique space to shoot in! The brick walls surrounding most sets are gorgeous, and there’s was a good amount of space on the white infinity curve. I would love to go back and experience the other sets soon! Highly recommend as a studio space, it’s awesome. Not to mention that Steve is a great host, made me feel welcome and happy as soon as I arrived. See you soon hopefully :)

Attended a studio lighting workshop today the the studio. Very well thought course covering some basic lighting techniques and how to use the equipment as well as a talk on working with models which was very informative as it was good to hear from a model about their perspective.

Steve and Mike did a great job with their sections and explained things in an easy to understand way.

I look forward to attending further courses run at the studio and await to see what's coming in the New Year.

Thanks.

Arranged a band shoot at the studio and Steve was on hand helping with lighting set ups. His experience is brilliant and he came up with various ideas of what would help regarding lighting.

The shoot went smoothly and the band got everything they required for their promotional material.

Cheers Steve

I was fortunate enough to host a studio day here which ran effortlessly.

Steve is a gracious host and made sure everyone was well catertered for, running to time and well stocked with tea and coffee.

The studio is a massive space compared to others on the South Coast, with two large rooms to shoot in and plenty of unique nooks and crannies to shoot in.

There is plenty of equipment and Steve is brilliant at being on hand to help out without being overbearing.

You can see why this Studio is on Twisted Edge Magazine's list of approved studios. It's ran well and ensures that model safety is one of its top priorities

This was my 2nd visit to the studio, when I last visited it was awesome, and this time it was even better!!

Steve has made a couple of changes and added a few more details, adding to its beauty. I think it’s the little details that make a big difference. When we shot a boudoir set, I felt like I was in an apartment chilling in the beautiful bedroom. Beautiful wooden floor planks full of character and feeling.

The infinity wall is so good, being a tall model, having high ceilings is a bonus! This studio ticks so many boxes for me. It is literally equipped with everything you need. It’s a photography dream!

I can’t wait to come back again

Thank you Steve for being a great host!!

Very highly recommended from me

It had been a long time coming but I finally was booked to work at art asylum! In such a convenient location which a wealth of costumes, accessories, backdrops and overall facilities, I can’t have asked for a better place to shoot.

The studio has such a versatile look that anyone can find something that they like and it is the kind of studio I can imagine working at again and again and creating new and Interesting images every time.

Role on the next shoot!

The studio is in a great old converted Victorian Wearhouse with a lot of character.

Steve was very helpful and on hand to give advice and guidance (and a lot of tea!) throughout the shoot.

With the quirkiness of the studio there are endless possibilities for different shoot scenarios.

I would highly recommend the Art Asylum.

First time back at the studio for a while and it was sooo good to be back! Steve approached me regarding a shoot which he thought I'd be well suited to- which I were most flattered by and jumped at the chance! As this was a BDSM product shoot, I asked Steve if he was happy to be present at all times-as my chaperone, which he was grateful to do and helped with straps, fastenings etc and ensured I were happy and comfortable at all times. Steve laid out the rules to the designer and photographer before hand and assured me of him doing so. The shoot was amazing, coffee on tap. Lovely people, awesome captures in a perfect setting for what was required. Love making use of the large dressing room here too 🤪!! Thankyou! See you again soon!
