References for Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

Had another shoot with Nicole at Basford Hurst on Saturday. This time it was a workshop by Owen Lloyd. Basford Hurst were very accommodating - I always look forward to my shoots here. Many thanks Jann

This was the fourth time I had visited Basford Hurst although the first when my model and I were the only people shooting. As everyone here will be aware, Basford Hurst is a superb location and in this instance made more so by our being the only ones there. When solo shooting there the choices of locations within, and without the house are many and varied. Needless to say my model and I took full advantage of this, although we only scratched to surface of what is possible.

As you will no doubt have guessed I am a huge fan of Basford Hurst, and this time my model and I stayed over.(Separate rooms of course.) The friendliness and hospitality shown to us by Leanne and Simon was wonderful and added to what was an amazing shooting experience. I can heartily recommend staying overnight should you need acommodation, as well as photographing, there. It really is a magical location and I have already booked again for next year to explore more of the gorgeous and unique shooting opportunities available.

Visiting Basford Hurst for the first time, I had high expectations and these were more than surpassed during my time there. The studio is immaculate, with a wide variety of sets indoors and beautiful grounds to shoot in. To add to the charm of the house, Basford Hurst has a fabulously equipped dressing room.

During our two night stay myself and the photographer were able to experience the incredible hospitality of Leanne and Simon. They kindly accommodated every aspect of our stay, with personal touches that showed Leanne's dedication to giving guests the best experience and undoubtedly improved the quality of our work while we were there. Leanne entrusted me with her gorgeous corn snake Noodle and made us feel like valued members of house throughout our visit.

I cannot recommend Basford Hurst highly enough and greatly look forward to returning.

It’s a long drive from my home to Basford Hurst Cottage, but well worth the effort. This was my second visit, this time to shoot with Cariad Celis. The external landscaping had been finished since my previous visit and looks great.

As before, Leanne, the studio owner, greeted me with a cup of tea and a warm welcome. Whilst leaving us to get on with our shoot she was always available when we needed something, none more so than when the heavens opened whilst we were outside, and we needed towels to dry off.

I wanted to use natural light inside the house even though the weather was poor, and it was quite dark. Nonetheless, we found places where there was a lovely soft light making for some great images.

I hope to return soon on a bright day.

This was my second shoot at this prestigious photographic location although I have been there on several other occasions. Since my last visit the gardens renovations are now complete and wow what a fantastic place it is. As always the place was immaculate in every way.

After a welcoming chat with the owners I was able to set up my equipment and had the whole house and gardens at my disposal.

My shoot was with Kitty on her sold out studio day. We shot indoors and outdoors in several areas and it was most enjoyable.

I cannot recommend Basford Hurst Cottage (definitely a 5 star ⭐️ location) highly enough as it has everything you need as a photographer or model both indoors and outdoors.

My third visit to the studio, and I'll still definitely be back for more.

An amazing place to shoot, whether that be in one of the many unique mareas inside the house, or in one of the many varied areas outside in the woods or outbuildings.

6 hours shooting there and I've only scratched the surface of what is available - and as the light moves around the house and grounds it provides an ever changing feast of opportunities.

Add to that the great models that are being booked there, the very competitive price given what you get, and that Leanne/Simon are excellent hosts then it really really is somewhere you should be looking to go to shoot.

Incredibly highly recommended.....

Had a quick return to Basford on Saturday, this time a couple of Hours with Kitty Dawson, the location is irresistible, the sun moves around the house giving you a different look each visit, wide open rooms lending themselves to dramatic shots, then went out to the wonderful woodland area which gives no clue its so near the house, had a fun day out there and lots of great images to take away, highly recommend going to Basford, thanks Leanne!

They are very professional, the location is insanely amazing and I definitely want to come back already!

I am sure I will be in touch over the late autumn or early winter regarding some spring dates since I am moderately local to it! :)

A few days back, I had my first remote session at Basford Hurst cottage. Working with Cariad Celis, we took advantage of (just a few of) the very many lovely settings there, from interiors to exteriors.

There were so many options in addition to the ones I'd planned that it was difficult to pick a favorite. I do wish it were closer, but I anticipate I'll be using the location again--too many great options were skipped due to not-enough-hours-in-a-day.

Had the pleasure of another great shoot at Basford today, just great seeing Leanne and Simon again just lovely super people, several great indoor locations take a wide zoom and make them even bigger, the light moves around the house so you have a different look each visit, amazing bit of woodland in the garden, you could be in a remote forest somewhere but actually your car is just a few meters away. Its great having this kind of home studio opportunity. I was lucky enough to catch Cariad Cellis and came away with lovely images, planning on returning soon thanks!

This was my first time shooting at Basford Hurst Cottage with Paul, and I absolutely loved it. What an amazing location!

There are so many different spaces within the Cottage that are perfect for shooting (including a star wars room which I was overjoyed to of found!), along with a quiet outdoor spaces surrounded by a woodland.

Leanne was kind, generous and helpful, making cups of tea and offering her help. When I arrived I was taken straight to the model room and greeted with a 'Welcome to Basford Hurst Cottage Emma' sign and a tin of snacks, making me feel extremely welcome!

I am definitely coming back to use that big window!

Had another shoot at Basford and as always Leanne was a great host and gave me a warm welcome. As usual I came up the night before and had a good nights rest in a very comfortable bed so was fresh for the long shoot the next day.

The weather was great so I shot a lot outside under the trees and alongside the new pond.

As usual I got some great images and look forward to my next vist. I am sure any photograper would also make some great images there so I am happy to recommend it to other photograpers and as important models

I had a second shoot at Basford with Bal following the studio day I have done in July. It’s always such a pleasure to come to the studio. The location is stunning and give so many possibilities.

The 4 hours with Bal went very quick. We could have stayed the whole day and still not getting bored.

Leanne and Simon are both amazing. Simon was very welcoming when we arrived and Leanne is a star when it comes to communication.

I was booked for a charity event with LottiiRose at Basford and was so excited to see this venue for myself after hearing so many good things. The 160-something reviews below this one are absolutely right - Basford is utterly beautiful, varied and set in the most gorgeous grounds. Leanne and Simon couldn't have been more accommodating and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them over dinner before I headed home the next day. This is the kind of location at you could shoot at for days, maybe even weeks, without ever running out of options, and I'm so looking forward to exploring further when I return in 2024. The very highest recommendation!

Yesterday was my first time visiting this studio on a charity event. The reception from Leanne & Lottie was brilliant with a good tour of the studio before we started. The studio has countless opportunities for getting great images, I did not manage to shoot in all of them but I will endeavour to shoot in them on my next visit.

I took part in a charity event organised by LottiiRose and hosted at the beautiful Basford Hurst Cottage.

I was extremely impressed with it as both a venue, and with the warm welcome I along with the other models organised for the event all received from Leanne and Simon. It was much appreciated!

It's a lovely venue, and there truly are a million and one options available for the photographers in terms of capturing the images they want.

Would recommend and wouldn't hesitate to work there again!

3rd Sept2023: Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location hosted a charity photoshoot in aid of Crohn's Disease, organised by LottiiRose. I attended the afternoon session of the shoot day and was very impressed by the hospitality shown by Basford Hurst's management. Those who had not shot here before were given a guided tour of the extensive location, and models and togs were supplied with tea, coffee and substantial snacks throughout the day. Lottii's management of the day was exemplary and is detailed in a separate reference under her own Purpleport portfolio. Basford Hurst - my third visit in recent months, many locations still to shooy, will be back here again in the near future. Highly recommended !

This was my second time at Basford Hurst which I was super excited about when I heard the shoot was here :D

I attended Basford Hurst for a charity group photoshoot for Crohsn disease organised by Lottii Rose.

The location is stunning with the renovated garden area which was a new feature since I last visited! The owners are absolutely amazing- so kind and attentive and happy to help with anything!

I just wish I'd had more time to use more of the photo locations but I guess I'll just have to come back a few more times! ;)
