References for Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

What can I say about Basford other than its perfect. There is literally limitless possibilities of shoot options that can keep you busy for shoot after shoot. I had make a shoot plan based on the photos of Basford but kept discovering new corners and options that kept me shooting. A four hour shoot disappeared in around 5 minutes. I can’t wait to get back and continue the explore including the grounds and garden which will come into their own as we head into Spring.

This is such a wonderful location. This historic cottage has a wonderful array of possibilities to shoot photography. Beautiful 3 acre property with lots of wildlife, including pheasants and ducks. The interior has amazing woodwork, great large windows with lots of natural light the owners also stock and array of lighting. Wonderful hosts …..so personable they really make you feel right at home. Book this…. You won’t be disappointed.

Another fantastic shoot at Basford, there really is boundless potential to create any manner of different environment at Basford.

Leanne was of course the most excellent host as normal - all wants and needs catered for!

Absolutely recommend booking Basford, will be looking to do so again soon myself no doubt 🙂

Clearly with over 300 positive references and a virtually sold out schedule events, this incredible venue speaks for itself. I have shot at Basford a few times now and my images there are still some of the best I have ever taken with beautiful natural light pouring through large windows into the spectacular rooms and a large outdoor space with patio, woods and a bridge over the stream.

I have shot at a lot of studios aroudn the UK but Basford remains my favorite not only because of the building, garden and location but owners Leanne and Simon are so welcoming and helpful and will do everything to make sure you have an amazing experience. I always have an amazing time at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio and am returning soon to shoot Leanne herself (Miss_C) who is also an incredible model.

I had a blast with my 2-day (and an evening) workshop at Basford Hurst Cottage; It is such a nice venue with countless opportunities. Leanne and Simon were very accommodating, ensuring I got everything set up the way I wanted, even when it required moving a bit around.

The surroundings are beautiful, but unfortunately, we did not have much time (nor weather) to explore properly. So it is great that there were more than plenty of indoor options, and many of them with beautiful natural light through the many windows.

The communications were easy and concise; the workshop went without a glitch despite ten people milling about.

I can highly recommend Basford Hurst Cottage as a venue for workshops and, obviously, for shooting in general.

Thanks for having me, it will certainly not be the last time.

Learn from each shot

I had the pleasure of attending a two day workshop with Thomas Holm in Basford Hurst Cottage.

Leanne and Simon hosted the event in this magnificent location. They were very welcoming and helpful. Leanne makes a great coffee and put on a really nice spread for lunch on both days.

The location itself is "super cool" to use a Thomas Holm expression. There are so many places to make images and the light through the big windows is fantastic.

I look forward to arranging a return visit where I can put some of the learning from this weekends course to good use.

I would highly recommend both the location and the hosts. I had a fantastic time there.

Recently I got a chance to shoot at basford hurst cottage leek in UK . It s a spacious and tasteful place to conduct any genre of photography. The hospitality of Leanne is amazing during the 2 days of shoot . I recommend this place to conduct ur upcoming shoots

A superb photo location with more options than you could possibly use in one session. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating and nothing is ever too much trouble. THere is a good range of lighting available but many of the rooms benefit from amazing natural light.

Had another amazing shoot at Basford again and have a 3rd booked in June :D

This locations is an absolute MUST for all models and photographers. It is stunning and has so many incredible possibilities to create wonderful images.

Leanne and her partner are so very friendly and I love having a little chat to them before and after shooting at their extravagant cottage.

The time will fly when you are here because of the many areas you will want to shoot ideas at! So I suggest booking extra hours to truly appreciate and enjoy each scene and setting.

Amazing location, the house is light and airy and offers so many possibilities. I didn't have enough time to shoot in all the available spaces, will definitely be back, its worth the 4 hours drive each way from Glasgow. Hosts are amazing and very knowledgeable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

I ADORE working at Basford Hurst Cottage.

Leanne is so gloriously welcoming and space is beautiful. I was VERY smiley upon seeing a little personalised welcome message in the beautiful dressing room too.

Whilst my work there was very much non-stop, I DID manage to nab one of the choccy biscuits from the lovely little biscuit tin in the model dressing room.

Highly highly HIGHLY recommend Basford Hurst as a venue to shoot at! There are so many beautiful rooms, nooks n crannies to shoot in, it’s almost like the more you look around the more you uncover its potential! Not only this, but it was absolutely immaculate. It was so beautifully clean and spotless, it is really clear to see how much pride Leanne takes with her property.

Not only this but as a model I could really tell that it was a location another model runs due to the attention to detail and lengths taken to ensure everything needed is available, the dressing room is a private, warm room with all the necessities such as a clothes steamer, lint roller, sanitary products, choccies & the cutest little welcome sign just as a beautiful little touch.

WOW. Probably the best place I have shot in. Simply beautiful.

Leanne is super friendly and Well organised.

Once inside the space is incredible. Area after area of places to shoot. I used a few areas but so much more to explore. Lots of natural light, lots of wood, lots of amazing features.

It was warm, extremely clean.

There is also incredible outdoor space which I can't wait to use in the summer.

If you've not shot here, you are missing out.

It's a good drive to get there for me but I'll definitely be returning. A very easy 10 out of 10

Simply stunning.

Leanne and her other half were instantly welcoming and she showed me round everywhere. For a location shoot, it has endless possibilities, which in hindsight I did not make full use off (oh well, excuse for another shoot). The house and grounds are beautiful, if you don’t get excited when you see it, you have no imagination.

I cannot recommend it enough as a location.

Its been just over year since Nicole Rayner and I did our shoot at Basford in with the snow on the ground outside and the sunlight streaming in, I wanted to do an anniversary shoot but the weather couldn't of been much different. We got some great images just using the natural light as usual some times it was quite dark, I quite like moody feel it gives.

Leanne was on hand to offer coffee and biscuits. Highly recommend by me.A return visit in the planning.

I was lucky enough for Steve/ bogwoppett to take me cross country to this beautiful location, that is Basfordhurst cottage!

An overdue reference on my part, (only down to not using this platform very frequently).

Where can I start with this lovely place!? The weather was against us but the indoor made for the most atmospheric backdrop to our wedding themed photos and the light was perfect.

Leanne is such a dream, I don't know where I've been all my life not having encountered her before but I am glad that I got the chance to.

I felt so instantly welcomed and at ease to be 100% myself.

My welcome sign with my name was such cute attention to detail!

He who must not be reviewed is also such a gentleman and makes the best tea and coffee ;)

Highly recommended photography environment from me and I hope to visit again in the near future :)

Had my 3rd shoot at Basford yesterday, it is a truly stunning location. Big windows everywhere, beautiful light to work with and every room in this remarkable cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished. Leanne and Simon are perfect hosts and there’s always a friendly welcome and a nice cup of tea or coffee when you arrive.

Can’t recommend it highly enough, don’t take my word for it, read some of the other reviews and then book yourself a shoot. You’ll be very happy that you did.
