He might be my husband, but John is truly my favourite photographer. We work together so well and we've got it down to such an art that we shoot sets in no time at all. His images speak volumes for his photography ability, which is clearly phenomenal, but on top of that, he's such a thoughtful photographer and wants to capture stunning images.

I've had the pleasure of being on many shoots with him and other models and he treats them with such respect and compassion which is so important. He has such a relaxed attitude about him and effortlessly pulls off this phenomenal shots.

Our most recent venture was in Chamonix, France where we shot in the snow and around a lake. Despite it being absolutely freezing, the pictures were simply stunning and John worked hard to be quick to minimise exposure to the cold.

He's an absolute superstar - my absolute superstar, but I don't mind sharing him with other creatives. He's definitely worth working with!

I booked a studio-style lighting tuition session run by John, with Angel as the model.

Very friendly about arranging the shoot and assured me that my “mood board” ideas were ones we could work with.

I found them both to be welcoming, friendly, professional and confident. Very easy to work with, encouraging and constructive. John was generous with advice and I learned a lot. As he has the same Godox flash heads as me, I now know how to get the best from them!

I left with a load of pictures I was very happy with, and with far more confidence.

Happily book another session in the future.

I had a one to one tuition with John and Angel yesterday.. was my first ever tuition as I'm self taught and found John's knowledge of lighting and photography helped me so much. Just the little tips John gave me makes a really big difference in the end result..

Was shot at the home studio and the lighting mixed with natural light works really well with different backdrops and different sets.

Would definitely recommend having a tuition with John and Angel even if it's just for a refresh as sometimes the little things we forget about and can make a big difference in the end photo. Thank you John for your help. Hope we can work together again at somepoint.

Had a great shoot with John earlier this month at his home studio and out and about in the car.

it was a great collaboration and we exchanged ideas and quickly got to making beautiful images.

We made great use of the little sunlight we had (coming and going) but got some killer shots!

we ventured out and got some car shots that really worked.

John certainly doesn’t mess about as he shoots very efficiently - quality over quantity. John is friendly, polite and easy to work with. He gives great direction but also allows the model to pose freely and give ideas too. I highly recommend him to all models!

I shot with John a few years ago and recently contacted him again for another shoot. I wanted to start modelling lingerie and specifically chose John as the photographer for my first lingerie shoot. I feel like that says a lot.

He was very accommodating and made sure I was comfortable with everything and respected any limits/boundaries.

He very kindly picked me up from the train station and made my a nice cup of tea when I got to the home studio

There is a separate room to get changed with a mirror and a dressing gown to use. The bedroom used for shooting was beautiful and perfectly matched my first set! I couldn’t be happier

John used natural light to achieve stunning photos and kept everything very tasteful and beautiful. We also used the downstairs studio set up with natural lighting. He changed the backdrop to match what I was wearing and gave direction when needed.

I sat down and went through all the photos on the back of the camera after the shoot, and he even let me take some ‘back of the camera’ snaps. I favourited the ones I liked there and then which was really helpful. The back of the camera looked amazing and I am so so pleased! We created exactly what I had in mind and I couldn’t be happier!

John and Angel have worked with me before on earlier shoots. I cannot get enough. Working with them is so much fun, and John is beyond skilled. His knowledge of lighting and composing is impeccable. They're a truly iconic duo team.

John supported the “Kink weekend” with Angel Black UK and Caitlyn J, bringing and adjusting the lighting set up. He is highly experienced and his knowledge of studio set ups created a range of different lighting moods in the dungeon. John was able to suggest different shooting angles and lighting scenarios using the RGB lights, creating the perfect set for the interplay between Angel and Caitlyn and the capture of evocative images.

It was a great session and I enjoyed working with John and I can recommend him most highly for his skills and friendly support.

Amazeballs

I put myself down as interested for the kink event Angel organised on our previous shoot – I know Angel organises these events brilliantly. Knowing John would be on hand providing his own lighting, was very helpful.

I discovered upon arrival I was locked out of the venue – Angel and John came to the rescue - but not before joking “He’ll go away in a few minutes” Angel and John know me they are far more hospitable with everyone else LOL.

Angel showed me round the dungeon and John was on hand to set lighting as desired.

The fact Angel and John are model and photographer ‘Team Black’ means they both understand both sides of the camera better than most, this is invaluable quality to have.

Angel and John’s work made it a very enjoyable relaxed shoot and I think I might have captured some of Angel and Caitlyn in focus…

This was the second time John has set-up lighting for me, this time it was for my remote shoot with Angel & Caitlyn. I’ve found john’s lighting set-up’s to be spot on. If you have a remote with Angel, I recommend John for your lighting, not only because of the lighting, but the time saved while the models are changing clothes.

Wow! What an epic (kink theme) photoshoot with the gorgeous and stunning duo of Angel and Caitlyn assisted by John Black at Twisted Boudoir studios in Bridgwater Somerset.

Let me first thank Angel and John for inviting me for this event and I'm so glad I was able to join it. I always wanted to try this genre of photography and also wanted to ensure that the images that I capture are tasteful, brings out the essence of story or a narrative behind it and also images are friendly to be posted on social media platforms without breaking any rules of objectionable content and audience being prejudicial.

I was glad that we all were able to achieve as all of us had the same objective.

John has been especially instrumental in helping with the light setup and creating the perfect mood to help me get some great images with Angel and Caitlyn. I admire his work and his experience helped me to get the images that I wanted from this event.

John is very friendly and always ready to help and answer any questions you have. His suggestions during the shoot were very valuable to me.

We got so many amazing images just waiting to be edited and shared with all, some of them I have already posted as stories on social media platforms as behind the scenes.

I worked on a remote session with Angel Black and Caitlyn J yesterday, with John serving as my assistant (aka remote hands). The session was lit entirely by LEDs, and John was able to set things up Just Right, once we got past a silly linguistic glitch. :)

He knows what he's doing, cheerfully and happily moving set pieces, lights, and the camera as directed, as well as making suggestions based on being in the location or knowing the kit being used.

I've also worked with Angel on some earlier remote shoots with John assisting; in all cases, he's been great to work with.

Definitely recommended!

Angel invited me to attend her new event this time it was a kink themed event with Caitlyn, and John setting up some amazing lighting to set the scene

Having not shot this genre before and it also being my first duo, I was a tad on the nervous side, but Team black and Caitlyn couldn't of been nicer and put me at ease straight away.

Caitlyn and Angel were happy to suggest styling and some ideas as to what we could shoot, but also open to my suggestions. John was on hand throughout tweaking the lighting to make sure we got some stunning shots.

I was so impressed by how both Caitlyn and Angel can create the scenes and the story they project and very happy with the results of the day, i think we really managed to capture the mood and essence we were trying to.

This was my 3rd shoot with Angel and first time meeting John and Caitlyn, and looking forward to the future for a follow up event where we can do it again :)

I worked with John during a 4 hour 1:1 workshop with Angel modelling (Team black). He was a pleasure to work with and I enjoyed the discussions around my questions that we had throughout the day.

John was nothing but helpful, and was always on hand to discuss options for improving an image. His interest in my background and what my requirements were for the workshop resulted in a personalised approach which I appreciated. He also has a working knowledge of lighting & balancing that lighting to look natural. This was a weaker point of mine so having the help in that area was good. He also makes a decent light stand! 😂

I had a fun day and left with some great images. I’d work with John again and recommend booking / working with him.

Had an amazing first shoot with John today at his team black studio , duo with wife AngelBkack and 1-2-1.

I arrived at his home and John and Angel had everything set up, we did some beautiful duo sera in the bedroom and downstairs in the living room and a backdrop set all looked amazing, John gives great direction and feedback during the shoot and his pictures speak for themselves.

I then had a 1-2-1 shoot with John using natural light in the bedroom and I was obsessed, I loved so many, I think star rated almost all of them !!

John is laid back patent and kind and puts the model at ease while shooting and I really enjoyed the shoot and can’t wait to do more!!

I attended a Team Black event at their home to brush up and refresh some of my photographic know how. John was the tutor and on my side of the camera with an inexhaustible supply of suggestions for shooting settings angles and advice about use of light and modifiers. He helped practically with placement and holding of reflectors and repositioning cushions and chairs to help me get various shots. All of this was carried off with a warm friendly and supportive demeanour. It was great to meet and be tutored by John and he and Team Black are highly recommended.
