References for Retro Rob

It was a pleasure to shoot with Rob for a couple of hours at his recent studio day at Inspire Studios. I've long admired Rob's portfolio of work and was happy to finally have a chance to shoot Rob and and the classic looks and characters he portrays so well.

Pre-shoot comms were excellent, a simple exchange of ideas and suggestions providing Rob with enough to perfectly meet the brief from his extensive wardrobe and wonderful props. In fact, Rob went beyond my expectations in his contribution to our classic-styled sets.

When working with Rob, you do get the whole 'package': great posing, top-quality authentic wardrobe, high-quality (and I'm sure hard to come by) props and an evident passion to make great images. Our shoot was laid back and enjoyable and Rob worked hard to make the most of every set while being collaborative and patient throughout. We benefited from his experience of what works for different looks and Rob had lots of great ideas for taking a shot to the next level.

I had a blast working with Rob and came away with some great images and even more ideas for us to work on in future. I certainly look forward to working with Rob again and would encourage anyone else to do so, too.

I had a great shoot today with Retro Rob organised by Brian Sandham at Vines Art House studio. What with Brians great light sets and his new hand painted backdrop, and Robs collection of props and poses. Plus Robs very smart outfits and the banter throughout the shoot.

I knew I would come away from the shoot with a collection of great images on the day and I was not wrong. The only downside was that the shoot had to come to a end. I think I can honestly say that all of the small group of photographers on the shoot thoroughly had a great shoot.

I had shoot with Rob before lockdown, on that shoot 3 of you shared 24 minutes of time which was not enough time to set up and get great images.

Thank you to Rob and Brian for a great shoot and I'm sure we will be working together again before to long.

I had the most amazing shoot with Retro Rob three days ago and I am still buzzing.

This man without a doubt has made my photographic dreams come true, and more.

I have never met someone like Rob that puts so much thought into every session and image, does so much planning, has so much ability and who can lift your photography to another level.

He produces excellence time and time again, and when you think you have reached the top, he takes you further with his new ideas and the way that he brings them to life. Without a doubt he has brought my photography alive, has thought me so much and has added so much to the way I think about shooting.

On top of all this, he has such a wonderfully warm and friendly personality and also 100% professional.

The images we produced are so good in my opinion- unbelievably good. Rob, I could write a book doing a reference for you, but will stop now..

If you have never shot with Rob, do not hesitate any longer, book him in and you won’t regret it.

Well the day finally arrived in which to Photograph Rob & I was not disappointed in any way !

Rob is truly a professional, in the way he researches / plans / communicates / the enthusiasm / fun / flexibility & help in gaining the storytelling visuals.

This in turn makes it so enjoyable to Photograph Rob ! The adaption to asks, in posing with the Isabella Bliss, was so productive for all in this group shoot I organised !

We are already looking forward our next's shoot - fully recommended 'Big Time'

Had the absolute pleasure photographing Rob at a group photoshoot I attended.

The shoot consisted of a group of photographers and two models which included Rob and Isabella organised by MK Photography.

What can I say except Rob was a star extremely professional and enjoyable to work with. The shoot was in a 50’s style and OMG the amount of outfits and props Rob brought with him was outstanding.

I can’t truly express in words the amount of effort Rob throws into obtaining the story telling to capture those magic moments.

500% recommended so do not miss a chance to shoot with Rob as you’ll only regret it if you do.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Rob on a photo shoot organized by Keith Turnbull, at Groombridge steam railway.

Rob was super easy to get along with, very professional, kind, acted impeccably. He looked fantastic in his tailored suits. He also brought along props that just enhanced the mood. I would certainly recommend working with Rob, I thought he was brilliant. If you want a theme-based photoshoot or in fact a real cool male model for anything, he is your man.

Our camera club had a great evening with RetroRob. He was friendly and professional throughout and gave us some great images with quick costume changes in between. His poses suited each character he became and all our members came away with strong original images. Would highly recommend.

After such a glowing referel from Rob after our camera club group shoot on Friday I feel compelled to write an equally glowing report about Rob. Apart from being an excellent and professional model he is also a great guy. Very good with ideas and ideas for outfits and looks, he has an extensive list of styles, looks and props. I'd hate to see the size of his wardrobe and know the amount of time and money sourcing and buying said wardrobe.

He's extremely professional in his outlook to modelling, very amiable and willing to try new things and looks. He takes directions very well and is equally happy to throw a few poses for those less confident in directing.

Comms are excellent too, not many models phone me with ideas or just to chat about the shoot.

Everyone went away from the shoot very happy with the shots they got despite the small amount of one on one time with Rob.

I can't recommend Rob highly enough, easily the best model I've booked in all the years I've been running the club's portrait group. I wish him every success in giving up the day job and turning fully professional. I'll be sure to book him again in future.

I have always wanted to photograph Rob because I find him very photogenic. I finally got a chance to photograph him at AWOL studios and was not at all disappointed. He is extremely professional and makes taking photographs of him so easy. I love his eye contact with the camera. So glad I have another shoot coming soon with him. Thank you Rob

Had the pleasure of working with Rob on a last minute shoot at Fareham Studio. I saw him work both as a model and photographer and he demonstrated each role effortlessly. I had the absolute pleasure of having 2 shoots in one weekend with Retro Rob at Fareham Studio.

Words cannot express just how good the shoots were, and just how many unbelievable images that I came away with.

Rob plans and prepares so diligently for every shoot and this pays off with every image. He takes my photography to another level that I could never have imagined possible.

The shoot had much input from Fareham Studio, helping to put Rob’s very original and brilliant ideas into reality.

Rob is second to none in so many ways - his planning, his props, his style, his uniqueness, his originality and his professionalism. On top of all this he is the nicest of people to work with, and to know. A great person who is so easy and fun to shoot with.

As for the images from the shoots - they are in my eyes unbelievable in content and storytelling - and this is down to Rob, not me.

Rob is a top, top model and I’m lucky to say a true friend.

Anyone who hasn’t worked with Rob should definitely give it a go

This was my first shoot with Rob during his recent visit to Fareham Studio. Rob was welcoming from the start and a pleasure to work with. My 3rd shoot with Rob but previous on group shoots so first one to one at Fareham Studios today. Rob is fantastic everyone should shot shoot with Rob they won't be disappointed. as styling goes Rob can pull off any retro look including required props required.

I have been an admirer of Rob's modeling for a long time and met him late last year at a group shoot where he was trying his hand as a photographer. We both said we would like to work together and by chance he was having a studio day at Fareham Studios. So at last I had the chance to work with him.

Rob is a great model and fantastic person to both talk to and work with. He is super friendly and quite happy to go that extra bit to make a picture happen. The amount of detail he puts into his appearence and clothing are second to none. He came prepared with a great selection of clothing and props and we worked our way through many different setsups. Needless to say I came away with a fantastic selection of images. The two hour slot went far too quickly and I look forward to working with Rob again.
