Had great time at Kris's lighting workshop at Scarlett Door. Kris has a great teaching stile, lots of humour laced with some great guidance on how to set up lighting. The workshop covered the most simplest of set-ups to the more complex multi light arrangements.

I like Kris. He made me laugh. I like his wife. She made delicious food.

Both of them gave me really good pointers on the day, which I cannot wait to put into use.

The workshop ran really smoothly, was enjoyable and informative. Kris is very talented and has a unique style (both in his photography and sense of humour) that sets him apart - was an absolute pleasure! :)

I was so excited and overwhelmed to have worked with kris Karl this month! When I attended scarlet door studio it was a great honour to find out that I am shooting with the legend ! His work is extraordinary , he is super talented and experienced photographer and it is an honour to be in from of his camera. I booked a slot on one of Kris's beauty and portraiture workshops at Scarlet Door. Kris was brilliant- really relaxed and down to earth attitude to his work. He packed a lot into the day - a MUA, 2 stunning models and half a dozen different creative lighting setups - fantastic!. He gave me tons of ideas and loads of useful approaches to technique which I have already started putting to good use. Cheers Kris :-).

It is difficult to put into words how phenomenal Kris Karl is as both a person and as a photographer.

As a creative he is passionate, extraordinarily enterprising and talented. Kris aims to excel in everything he does and it shows in the craftsmanship of his work both photographically on camera and in his final products. He is realistically minded which makes for nothing but the best in his work and works first and foremost to create and adapt his own unique style.

As a person you could not find anyone to be more comfortable with. He consistently makes an effort with every person in his team and makes you feel exceptionally welcome shooting with him. He is a pleasure and a joy to work with and I could not speak more highly of someone, nor recommend them more.

Kris is the epitome of a diamond in the rough.

I had the pleasure in attending one of Kris's workshops for charity yesterday, it was a fantasticly well executed course and very informative from the choise of studioto the very stunning choice of model Cassie Rae. I thought the whole package was very well put together and delivered.

I would recommend if you are at all interested in photography then you should consider going on one of Kris's workshops. Highly recommended.

Lyon Studio (Hersham)

Fantastic (as usual) first workshop of 2016 delivered by Kris Karl here at Lyon Studio on Sunday. Great fun, humour, informative, great tips and a fantastic range of images were produced. As usual Kris took the attendees through some basic shooting concepts then up to more complicated concepts, all in a humorous and understandable manner. The number of familiar faces returning on these course is a testimonial in itself. Thanks Kris, ably assisted by Jamila and Cassie Rae, for a fantastic day and I look forward to the next workshop on Sunday 20 March.

Had a great shoot with Kris and his lovely wife last week, he was very friendly and professional at the same time; great at giving direction. We managed to shoot in various different set-ups and outside as well and he sent me fully edited images within a week, which were absolutely gorgeous!

I've shot with Kris countless times now but I still can't praise him enough! After not shooting since 2014 (how did that happen?!) I applied for a last minute casting with Kris to test a few different lighting set ups. He gave me very clear direction beforehand so I knew what he wanted in terms of styling, make up and poses. Even though we shot on Saturday, I've already seen some sneaky peeks at the final images and Kris never ever disappoints! Shooting with him is always fun, chilled out but productive! He's completely professional and extremely talented! Thanks again for all the wonderful shoots we've had over the years Kris... I think it goes without saying that I highly recommend him!

Although our shoot was very breif due to how it was shared with another photographer the time was used effceiently by Kris's method of shooting; he picked a close by location so it was easy to change outfits (as he knew we had limited time), he told me the feel of the shot he wanted and how much of my body he would be getting in, also the amount of the shot that would be in focus, (so I knew what style of pose to do and what aspects of my body to use), he gave small amounts of direction and kept his instructions short and easy to follow, (as he shot partially in film and with lenses which require the subject to be as still as possible he recommended basic posing and easy to hold posistions).

I would recommend Kris's photography as his work is clean and versatile.

Another good shoot with Kris yesterday with his new but old school looking petzval lens! Which was rather lovely! We did some simple portraiture shots outside on a grey day but the photos looked great. I even took a great shot of Kris as well! I hope to see that on your port Kris :P As always Kris is a great person to chat away to and we spent ages just having a good old chat after the shoot with a cup of tea. One thing that was difficult actually... was to keep a straight face and not laugh in every shot with Kris wearing my red duffle coat looking like red riding hood with penguin gloves on as well! It was a good laugh!

Kris' portfolio speaks for itself and not only is he an amazingly talented photographer but a very friendly and down to earth person, who's enjoyable to spend time with! Oh, and not to mention extremely funny! It was an absolute pleasure to work with Kris, he immediately made me feel comfortable on the shoot in his beautiful home studio, and is an absolute professional with clear knowledge and expertise!

I love the final images, hope to work with Kris again, and would 100% recommend him to all! :)

Had a great little shoot with Kris at his home studio last week. We blasted through a range of outfits/ setups and also managed to get some unexpected shots outside too! Kris was really easy to work with. He communicated with me with the whole way through, so I knew what he was looking for. He also allowed me creative freedom to pose and suggest ideas too, which made it really enjoyable/ easy from a model's perspective! :) .. We also had a laugh along the way & drunk tea - brilliant!

Would love to shoot again and very much recommended to all! :)

Had my first workshop with Kris the weekend just past, Was good to get his insight to the business and the also learn from his experiences. The workshop although my first as I don't generally attend these sorts of functions was very relaxed and informal but very intuative, Kris was very open and honest through the work shop and made thing very clear even the fact he would not buy a second hand car of someone like me with three names Andy, Andi or David 😀.
