It’s now about a month since I was on the workshop, and I’m writing this because I had a fairly challenging shoot yesterday, on which I found myself using two techniques that I picked up from him. As well as the useful instruction on location, he also gave a really useful run through his Lightroom work flow, and then sent us all a tuition video based on that.

I could go on about how easy he is to get on with, and the relaxed atmosphere that gave to the group on the day, but this is probably quite long enough already. Just book it.

Had a TF shoot with Kris and the result were everything I wanted and better :)

Was a short and really productive shoot and we got through a lot of sets.

He's professional throughout, giving some direction to really get the best out of the results.

I modelled on one of Kris' one-to-one sessions today. I've worked with him a few times before but this was the first time I saw him teaching; he was informative, laid-back, considerate and helped the photographer to produce some beautiful images. He certainly knows his stuff and even I learnt a thing or two! Highly recommended.

I had a fantastic one to one days training with Kris Karl, a great fun day and the organic matter immediately behind my camera's eye piece is definitely upgraded; Kris is as talented at teaching as he is at making fantastic images; I most highly recommend him to other photographers, it will be the best money you have spent on your photography and could even save you a bundle in equipment.

I attended a Masterclass with Kris yesterday and was very impressed indeed.

Very knowledgeable, dynamic and good-humoured, he has a clear, 'no nonsense' style and is able to get across complex concepts with ease.

I particularly enjoyed his insights into the world of the pro Photographer and assorted anecdotes cleverly used to underline the points he was making.

A skilled retoucher as well as photographer, he also willingly and ably passed across numerous tips and tricks that will speed up anyone's workflow.

WELL.....Where do I start here?

I have wanted to shoot with Kris for probably about 2 years now, and we have spoke on and off for some time about arranging a shoot. I wanted to last year but didn't get the opportunity and as he lives a very long way away from me it needed some planning to make it happen.

But...FINALLY we arranged a date earlier this year and after scoping his portfolio for ideas I knew I wanted to do some shots outdoors, as some of Kris's trademark shots are outdoors in the fields etc.

I was so excited to work with him and he did certainly not disappoint.

I arrived the evening before and Kris was very kind and put me up for the night, fed me and supplied endless cups of tea (finally I've met someone who loves them as much if not a little bit more than me) :-O

We chatted for hours about all sorts, Kris has an awesome sense of humour which just cracked me up and I knew we were going to have a productive shoot.

Kris is easy going on shoots and there is no pressure on you at all, I got ready, planned the outfits and we just bobbed in and out for probably 10-15 mins at a time shooting. It was really relaxed and fun.

People like Kris make me realise what so many other photographers lack in their approach to shoots, he doesn't take a gazillion shots and gets AMAZING images, he doesn't try and direct the model too much either. And because he really really knows his onions the images are guaranteed to be the real deal!

I am so so so happy with the results we got, they are some of my favourite images of myself I have ever seen, and by far one of the best shoots if not thee best shoot this year so far.

We have spoken about the possibility of doing some workshops together this year...so WATCH THIS SPACE!

I shot with Kris and Jamila a few days ago at Scarlett Door and it was an absolutle pleasure.

It's been a really long time since I laughed and enjoyed myself so much on a photoshoot, I felt completley at ease - Kris is absolutey hillarious and knows exactly what he wants from a shot. Which makes it so much easier for me.

Set up changes were quick and I loved the back of camera shots.

I highly reccomend Kris and hope to work with him again in the future.

I was with Kris this afternoon having one to one tuition on natural lighting, camera settings and best positioning on locations. The time flew by but I am pleased I have gained more knowledge and will be able to get more from this hobby.

Like everyone else has said.. great bloke, great banter and has a wife who makes a great cup of tea. In fact Jamila was also very useful holding the light reflector whilst the model for the afternoon posed effortlessly (Jammy Lou check her out on PP)

Kris is nothing less than an utter delight to shoot with.

He is a pleasure to work with, professional, flamboyant, enthusiastic and mildly crazy ( Although I hear all the best people are, so you know)

He is a genuinely great guy that has a real determination and passion for his photography and it comes across not only in the quality of his work but the perspective and attention to detail.

Communication was quick and consistent, the shoot was one of the most enjoyable shoots I have ever had and working with Kris was easy because the whole day he, and a little ensemble of other wonderful people, made me feel at ease and incredibly happy.

I simply could not recommend Kris enough to any model and I would be honoured to shoot with him time and time again.

I worked with Kris on Saturday just gone at Scarlett Door studios. We shot for a full day and it was so much fun.

Kris is a really cool person to work with, very talented and creative photographer. We got on really well and I felt comfortable and confident throughout the day during the various sets.

It was a great day of making cool images and I can't wait to see the results.

I can tell Kris is in this industry for making great images and you can tell he has great passion for what he does and it is really nice to see.

I had the opportunity to work with Kris again at his recent special workshop events in London and am completely over the moon with being a part of one of this projects again.

The day couldn't of been more successful, it was fun, upbeat and productive throughout the day and I saw smiles all round the entire time.

Kris, as true to the previous times I have worked with him, is dedicated, exuberant and talented. When shooting with Kris he is a delight to work with, he goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease and produce fantastic work and as host to the workshop there wasn't a moment he wasn't assisting or helping someone, offering solid advice or just helping things run smoothly.

Shot with this awesome guy a few times now!

Kris is great fun to worked with chilled out but professional, he has really great ideas and takes some really awesome images. I have also modelled for his workshops and tuition sessions, he is a great teacher and I highly recommend him for photographers who want to learn a little also :)

Another double plus: the image turn around is nice and speedy so no waiting months for pictures! :)

Looking forward to shooting again :)

I had a 1-2-1 tuition session with Kris yesterday.

We tackled a few areas of photography that I wanted to improve with - direction and post - and Kris's advice, support and instruction were great.

More than that though, eventually speaking about 'why' a lot more than 'how', I left his home studio yesterday having a much clearer idea of what I wanted to achieve with photography, a better understanding of where my strong points are, and a lot of renewed energy and confidence.

That's worth a lot more than someone telling you what does and doesn't work.

Recommended for tuition. Heartily.

I worked with Kris today on his one on one tuition session with the photographer Fraser. It was a good fun morning. I even learnt new things myself! His tips on directing a model are really good with some hilarious ones thrown in. It was a really relaxed session that makes it easy for any photographer to learn.

Had an afternoon of 121 tuition with Kris a couple of weeks ago. Really down to earth and gave tuition in a simple easy to understand way. Definitely came away feeling like I knew so much more and a clearer understanding of the stuff I thought I already knew. Just need to put everything into practice now!

If you are thinking of getting tuition I can definitely recommend Kris.

After attending Kris's Natural light workshop and subsequent tutorials I decided to attend his Studio workshop at Scarlett Door at the weekend. It was a good session and it was interesting to see the set ups and take some lovely images on the day. A very relaxed session, felt comfortable to ask any question and the session ticked my boxes.

I've admired Kris's work for sometime, and have been fortunate to join some of his natural light & studio workshops where I have got to know a little about the guy behind these inspiring images. He's a great all round photographer, who is passionate, creative and resourceful, and who see's light and creates dimensional composition incredibly well. He's also very conscious of looking after the models during a shoot, and there's never a dull moment on set.. I can't recommend this guy highly enough.. Thanks again Kris :)

I finally got to shoot with Kris last week and I had a really great time! He is super funny and I was laughing all day despite being a little ill.

He created some beautiful lighting and gave good direction. Really hope I can shoot with him again in the future.
